This is what you get when you fly Air Canada! On my way from shanghai to Los Angles, Air Canada lost my luggage. Of Course lost 4 bottle of fine wines that I bought in my all around world trip from Germany. Many times I tried to open one but said to myself "NO", will take home to enjoy. And when I arrived to Los Angles, got nothing except the word "bag is coming"!. Been on the phone over 2 weeks with the lady in India who has no clue and idea what is going on, "Sir we are very sorry"! That is all you get! nothing more! Hope some executive in Air Canada take his/her head out and figure out this doesn't worth it! Yes save few pennies but pay big later on! I travel 4 times a year to China, certainly this was the first and last with the stupid Air Canada! Never will repeat it again regardless of ticket is free! 1 Replies - Latest reply on 07/03/2010Add reply

The reality for all airlines now unfortunately not only Air Canada is that you can't make a mistake. I was flying for pleasure to Toronto and got invited to a business conference last minute. Since I had already booked a cheap flight online I went ahead and changed my flight to include dates for the conference on the same ticket but made an error. Obviously I paid the change fee for my holiday ticket, now I want to change the dates again, I will have to not only pay another change fee, also pay for the difference in the tickets because the flight would have been more expensive on the new date.

Amazingly if I were to change the ticket again I would have paid the entire second portion of my trip again plus give them an extra 60 bucks. Moral of the story if you can book through a travel agent it might not be a bad idea.
Oh by the way to get someone to help you on the telephone make a change adds 25 bucks to your ticket.
Air Canada has this incredibly annoying habit of allowing you to choose your seats at the time of booking and then they change the aircraft and fail to re-assign the chosen seats. In my case I had reserved bulkhead seats for my wife and I and after the aircraft was changed the seats shown on my revised booking didn't even exist. I tried to get hold of customer service but after waiting over 10 minutes gave up. I complained in writing and received platitudes about why they have to change aircraft but no apology.
