I rented a vehicle from alamo through Priceline.com. After I picked the care up the rental car company tripled the price of the car. After contacting alamo to clarify they stated that they would not honor the reservation I had with alamo. Talk about customer service. I will never rent with alamo again. 2 Replies - Latest reply on 10/18/2011Add reply
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- When I rental the car at Chicago. I paid 42.99 for gas on rental agreement so I not need to rush to get gas when I was on way to airport. I realized I did not used car too much whole weekend. So I called and asked them if can discount to pay 1/4 gas then rest of left money to refund? Of course, they said no. I agree with this one because I signed agreement.

Then they said your charged on bank is 48.99 somewhat. I was like what? No way, I have the paper said 42.99 not almost 50 dollars. They said This cost 48.99 because of the tax. I was like It is wrong because I have paper said "PAYMENT cost 42.99" even worse the paper already said tax cost that total 42.99, how the heck I get almost 50 dollars. Of course I was objected and they were hung on me. so screw them! Suggest don't get gas rental agreement. Pay pump on your own time, not them! They smell our money! For sure their eyes are fullest of $$$.
Good job Alamo, getting more lose customer over dishonestly.
We rented from Alamo, Cancun. after we had driven for 3 hours toward our destination, we discovered the gas cap was broken and part of it was missing and the van was 2 quarts low on oil We had to add oil and purchase a new gas cap to continue our trip. we presented our receipts to the supervisor when we returned the vehicle. Did I mention the Air Con stopped working? ALAMO REFUSED to honor the receipts stating WE should have checked the oil AND the gas cap before we left at the rental office. I have the name of the supervisor and am sorry we cannot put it here for your information. We demanded our money back for maintance to their vehicle, they refused and then did not give us the gas cap WE HAD
PURCHASED, WE HAD TO PAY FOR IT AND THEY THEN KEPT IT. NEVER, EVER AGAIN< ALAMO
KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII -- I rented a Mazda 3 at the Kona, Hawaii location, thinking I would save money using a Hotwire special deal. I should have listened to the voice in my head saying I would probably regret declining the rather expensive insurance Alamo insisted that I should buy. Sure enough, they didn't inspect the car when I left, then wrote me up for a minor dent that I didn't create and hadn't noticed at any time on my trip. I wouldn't have even noticed something that minor on my own car. A couple of weeks later I got a bill for $778.67. Of course, my insurance company considered that excessive and didn't pay most of it. Not a pleasurable experience, I will absolutely never consider doing business with Alamo again, and will caution people against doing so.2 Replies - Latest reply on 07/19/2011Add reply
Costumer Service is not explaining the good detail, they will rip you off
and charge to your credit card.
KAHULUI, HI -- Do not rent from this Alamo, and if you do, BEWARE and be certain to inspect your car and have something in writing before leaving the lot. Bottom line is that our car was not inspected prior to leaving the lot, and we were charged $1200 worth of damages for damage that we absolutely did not do. Read other social networking websites like Yelp for others who have also had this same exact experience. This is wrong and needs to be stopped.1 Replies - Latest reply on 07/30/2012Add reply
HONOLULU, HAWAII -- We rent a car in Hawaii airport, When we saw the car there were lot of searches and dings (Good thing I took some picture with my phone)and when I was checking out by the gate I told him take look at the damages on the car but he said if it is not like a golf ball size damage don't worry about it.( He never came out of the cabin to CHECK the car.

When I was retuning it they were asking me about the scratches and dings. I told them it was there when I took it and your gate keeper told me don't worry about it but they were like no you have to pay for it, then I remember I took pictures and I showed them then they were OK.
I also told them this is unfair to customers when your gate keeper is not doing his job and telling clients don't worry about it but you are trying to charge the clients.
After all this I still get the bill for the damages around $600.( I am resolving it)
MY ADVICE IS TAKE PICTURE OF EVERY SINGLE DAMAGES CAR HAS BEFORE YOU GO OUT AND MAKE SURE THE GATE KEEPER OR CHECK OUT GUY MAKE WRITE ON YOUR PAPERS ABOUT THE DAMAGES THE CAR HAS.

TAMPA, FLORIDA -- I rented a car in Tampa with Alamo through Priceline for 3 days, 24 Mar-26 Mar 2011. The price for the rental was included in my trip package. When we picked up the car everything went ok. My husband even initialed next to the spot that said "Estimated Charges: $0.00" at the time of pick-up. At the end of our trip we dropped the car off on time with a full tank & received a receipt saying our credit card would be charged $122.26 for a 2 day extension! Funny part is the receipt even mentions the day I picked up & dropped off the car which equaled 3 days. They must not be able to count...

We tried to settle the issue right then & there, ended up missing our flight, Station Manager said she would email me that same day after she figured everything out, never did. My credit card got charged & I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with a Customer Representative trying to get the charges settled. Now I'm told I have to wait 7-10 days for my account to get credited! So they're collecting interest on my money too?!
Needless to say I will never be using Alamo again.
CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO -- Alamo promised a premium car and what we got was a horrible car with 95,600 miles. There were dents in the car, trunk damaged, windshield wiper fluid sprayer missing the nozzle and many more. For four consecutive days of calling requesting this junk of a car to be replaced went without any response.

Alamo supposed to hold its name high and service its clients. They choose to stick it to their client paddling unsafe and junk car leased at premium.
If you ever want to lease from Alamo in Cabo San Lucas please be warned about my terrible experience and lack of service.

PORTLAND AIRPORT LOCATION, OREGON -- My father (whom is 80) asked me to get him plane tickets and a rental car at Portland airport. So I did so and got the rental in his wife's name to be picked up on 1/21/11. This rental about $66 was picked up and returned on time with more gas than when it left. What they did not know was that they had been talked into a gas service plan?? that cost $60 some dollars. Way to go Alamo PDX! You took advantage of some old people. You know who you are. 6 Replies - Latest reply on 02/01/2011Add reply
