DENVER, COLORADO -- I received a solicitation letter in the mail inviting me to contact them for a quote. The letter was addressed to me at my current address and contained accurate information about my home. The letter also had a breakdown of coverages that was close to matching my current coverage.
I spoke to the sale manager and she emailed me a quote for coverage. It was over 300% higher than the original letter I received and $600.00/year higher than my current coverage.
When I called her back, she was unable to explain why the quote was 300% higher than the original letter I received.
I feel that this company is engaging in a program of misrepresentation by sending unrealistic solicitations.
HUDSON, FLORIDA -- I had Allstate homeowners and auto insurance in Illinois for the past 12 years. Recently I have retired to Florida and discovered my premiums doubled without my knowledge and authorization. Reluctantly, I had to change companies in order to save myself two-thirds of the cost. Allstate is still billing me for the unauthorized premium for the final month. Corporate office is no help, and now want to send me to collections! I would not recommend this insurance co. to anyone in their right mind.Add reply
Terrible Customer Service

I had Allstate Insurance for 49 years. I had two small claims for water damage and they would not renew when policy expired. 49 Years! Plus when I switched to Alied it was $900 per year cheaper (3 cars and house). $900! Stay away, very bad hands!! 1 Replies - Latest reply on 08/07/2013Add reply
These people are just after your money, and when it comes down to it, they won't cover you. Their customer service is SO terrible, I don't know why this company is still in business. Go elsewhere, your life will be so much better without Allstate in it. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 06/28/2013Add reply
This Company is the biggest ripoff. They make you pay your premiums but when there is a loss they ignore you and never pay. It took them nearly six months to come up with an amount to compensate me and it was about 10 times smaller than the amount I had in force, from that I paid my attorney 650 dollars and I got about 80 dollars left, the equivalent of the premium I had been paying. 3 Replies - Latest reply on 05/05/2013Add reply
I have been with Allstate insurance for almost 39 years, I think it is time to quit, I pay as much as any other company and get zero Bennie's, that cash back is a scam I think!! $3.50 if you make installment? jeez, and I always pay more then the minimum! Add reply

HINSDALE, ILLINOIS -- My parents have been loyal customers for 40 years and the agent has taken many many dollars from my elderly parents when I call her she told me that they would get a 15% off for the past many years but fail to provide them with even a written letter saying they would get this discount then she had the nerve to say that since they had a small claim after no claims for 40 years that they will not get the 15% discount.

I ask her to provide my parents their 15% discount for all those past years they haven't had a discount. She says she cannot do that. I cancelled the policy and we went to another insurance company then she has the nerve to send them an outstanding balance bill because she said she had to terminate the policy. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and filing a complaint to the department of aging.
If this is how this crappy company takes care of theit 40 years loyal customers I cancelled my policy with them as well beware you're in good hands till something happens then they open their hands and treat you like crap.
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA -- I didn't routinely check the space on my invoice where it gives Agent's name; suddenly one day discovered NO Agent listed - went back over 2 yrs worth of invoices and saw it was blank - I was flabbergasted! I called another Allstate agency - they informed me my agent no longer works in the business!! I was never notified - and I had been paying every month on a 'Platinum Package' - the most expensive insurance package Allstate offers. It is supposed to include an Agent!!! Also, no one has been overseeing my policy - I was screwed out of several 'good driver' checks that I was receiving 2x a year; When I went to renew my registration at Motor Vehicle they pointed out that under the Description of my car - it states: Vehicle Unknown -- When I asked this new agent that I called about this handling of my account - he was glib and cavalier saying: 'well, you've got one now!" Shouldn't I be getting a hefty rebate for paying on a policy that suddenly and without warning had no agent anymore? Is this legal for an insurance agency to do without any notice?Add reply
Went to court years ago when they increased my coverage against my wishes and agreed in court to not do it again. Well I let it ride a couple of years but complained this year. The won't honor their court agreement so just filed another action against them. 2 Replies - Latest reply on 07/11/2012Add reply
