BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA -- I had put a bedroom set on lay-away prior to reading the reviews. And as stated in other reviews you cannot get your lay-away back. Once I read the reviews I was a little cautious, but mostly "stuck" with American Freight. I did mention to the manager that I was aware of the reviews and that I would be willing to write a review if they made it good for me. They delivered.

I was incredibly surprised with the customer service. I dealt mostly with a gentleman named ** at the Burnsville, MN location. He was as helpful as he was friendly (and easy on the eyes). The day after I completed my purchase my items were delivered at the time given. All the pieces were there and everything was just as I expected. I am very happy with my bedroom set and would definitely do business with American Freight in the future! Thank you!

MADISON, WISCONSIN -- I purchased a sofa and loveseat set and after a year the sofa broke. I also purchased the 10 year fabric warranty on both pieces. I called to see what they could do, was told I had a five year warranty and just send in pictures of the couch. I waited, sent emails and never heard back. Called them and told them my claim was denied. So I have a broken couch with a ten year stain warranty that is junk. Another manager tells me I don't have a 5 year warranty, only a one year but I could possibly have a 5 year on the frame. So send in more pictures of the frame, again the claim is denied. You get what you pay for, it's cheap furniture that doesn't last! Their customer service is horrible!

Defective Simmons Couch And Fraudulent Warranty, Bad Service!

MADISON, WISCONSIN -- Do not buy from American Freight stores. Do not buy Simmons here!!! Nothing but trouble since we got our couch. First, the arm fell apart within 3 months, totally collapsed!!! Called store and they told us we had to remove the dust cover and take photos and send them to the store. Called within 6 months, same ridiculous request! Called and talked to store manager and she was very immature, giggled about everything!!! Not business-minded at all. Then called regional manager and after 2 weeks of talking with him when he said he would take care of it and we would get our sofa exchanged, he called and said he could not do anything.

Plus... when we bought the sofa, we were told we had to buy the extra warranty otherwise nothing would be covered!!! Well, we told them that and they did nothing and said that warranty only covered stains! I would give them 0 stars if this allowed!!! Now we are left with a broken couch that cost $600, warranty and all and on top of that we have had it just over a year now and the upholstery is starting to wear and we cover the couch. Don"t buy Simmons!!! According to American Freight, Simmons is the one who decided not to honor our warranty or replace couch.

American Freight = really bad customer service and they con you into buying worthless warranties. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!!! You cannot get quality furniture or service at American Freight!!!!

I Had No Problems With the Staff or Products at This Store

STUART, FLORIDA -- I purchased two Simmons recliners and a couch/love seat at the Stuart store. I bought the items BEFORE reading any reviews. I was startled at the multiple negative experiences many had. Many consumers had trouble getting refunds or canceling orders before the delivery. I went to the store to cancel the couch/love seat to see if there is going to be an argument. There was no problem at all. I was relieved. The staff of ** were very professional. I kept the order for the two recliners and they were delivered as promised by two very efficient personnel.

I would recommend the Stuart store and buy more items from them. There could be concerns at some of the other stores but not at the Stuart facility.

ANTIOCH, TENNESSEE -- I should have paid more attention to all the signs that told me not to buy from this place but I did and that is why I'm now taking the time to write this so please people don't make the same mistake I did. This place has the worse staff you can hire to run a furniture store with decent furniture. And it all comes down to is that after making your purchases and you are sent back to pick it up, they switch the stuff you purchased for damage ones or used ones and you will not realize this until you get it home. But then you will have no choice because everything they sell is sold as is which is basically a way for them to secure the sale.

And if you tried to make a complaint then you will see how they really are and treat you like crap because they know you have no choice but to keep the stuff you bought, but I'm also sure the employees are doing some sort of scam because they like cash. Every time I mention that I was paying cash their eyes light up and that's I felt a bad impression from them. So I'm sure that is the trick is to sell you something and give you someone else's returned merchandise and pocket the money. My advice is for you to spend your money with a well known furniture company even if you spend a little extra but then you will get what you pay for...

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA -- I WENT TO AMERICAN FREIGHT ON 103RD. GOT APPROVED FOR $2400 IN FINANCING, SPENT $2108 TOTAL RECEIPT OUT THE DOOR. WE KNEW WE WOULD BE PAYING IT OFF BEFORE THEIR 101 DAY POLICY.
HAD TO PAY FOR DELIVERY AND AN APLICATION FEE. FINE.
GOT FURNITURE. THERE WAS A DRINK SPILT ALL IN THE BOX, ALL OVER MY FURNITURE. AND ONE OF THE NIGHTSTANDS HAD A SCRATCH ON IT, AND ONE OF THE DRAWERS FOR THE BED WERE BUSTED.
WAS TOLD WE COULD PICK UP FROM ANOTHER STORE. WHY WOULD I DO THAT WHEN I PAID FOR DELIVERY. HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE DAY. WOULD NOT GIVE ANYTHING OFF FOR INCONVENIENCE OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT.
TIME TO PAYOFF AS WE PLANNED. END UP SPENDING MORE THAN. THEY SAY ITS BECAUSE OF TAXES. YOU HAVE TO PAY TAXES. YOU KNOW WHAT, THAT'S ALL FINE, BUT MAKE SURE IT'S SOMEWHERE ON THE DAMN RECEIPT INCORPORATED IN THE TOTAL OR EVEN EXPLAINED THAT THE FINANCING COMPANY WILL BE CHARGING THE TAX!!!! THE RECEIPT AND THE CONTRACT ARE MISLEADING!!! AN BOTH AMERICAN FREIGHT AND THE FINANCE COMPANY WILL TELL YOU THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY ARE BOTH A DAMN SCAM!!! TALKING ABOUT I CAN GIVE YOU IN STORE CREDIT… SHIT WHY THE HELL DO YOU THINK I WOULD WANT TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE FROM YOU????

Delivery People Stole $89.00 From Us And Did Not Deliver Furniture.

SCRANTON, PENNSYLVANIA -- On September 22, 2018, we purchased a sofa and loveseat from this company. We decided to have it delivered to us and knew we would have to pay an $89.00 delivery charge. When they came to our home, the men came to our door and asked for $89.00 CASH before they would take the furniture out of the truck. Then they tried to push the sofa through our door without even tipping it to get it in. Our door was measured and there was no trouble getting our old furniture out or the new furniture we bought a week later from a reputable company. These guys turned around, put our sofa back into their truck and left, WITH OUR MONEY!!!

They took our delivery charge and also our furniture. We called American Freight and they told us these men didn't work for them!!! They hung up on us and wouldn't speak to us about this. We sent them a registered letter notifying them that if they don't give us the company name of the men that took our money, we would sue them for our money back. WELL, we just got a phone call from the MANAGER FROM AMERICAN FREIGHT and he told us he sent us a check in the mail over a week ago!!! Wow, how stupid do we look??? When we told him we never got his "check", HE HUNG UP ON US AGAIN!!! DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! I would give them ZERO stars if it was an option.

ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA -- I have had the worst experience of my life with American Freight in Roseville. Not only was my furniture two weeks late the delivery company PLIEGO broke my screen door. The management department Joel, Jason ** & Jeremiah are very rude argumentative and unsympathetic. Not only did they refuse to fix my door but they are now lying to the BBB saying that I refuse to let the delivery company remove the furniture - which by the way they claim to have no contract with and just subcontract.

I have been given nothing but false promises and a headache from this company who is pretty much trying to scam me into keeping the furniture I absolutely do not want. I came to this company looking for furniture. The only thing I found was an everlasting headache and a legal process! This is not how you treat people. I will not stand for this. I want my money back and this furniture removed from my house if I have to take it back myself!!!

"Lay-a-Way" Not a Layaway, Rude Service False Claims

MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA -- My husband went in looking for a reclining loveseat and found one that he really liked and spoke to the salesman about lay-a-away because we needed to wait a couple weeks before we would have the full amount. He was told no problem and the salesman explained the layaway process. I went with my husband a couple days later to put it on layaway and was told because it was the last one they had and they would not be getting any more of that style that we could put it on layaway but they would not hold the item, if someone came in and wanted to buy it they would sell it to them.

We would not get a refund of the money we pay but would have to choose something else. This is not a layaway, this is a scam. We then asked to see the manager because typically putting something on layaway means the item is sold but he was extremely rude and told us that we were wrong and basically they could do whatever they wanted until we paid for the item in full. He said if we could more than half the money down (the loveseat was $699) he would 'consider' holding it for us.

MELBOURNE, FLORIDA -- Where do I even start... I purchased 1200 dollars worth of furniture love seat, couch and recliner. Upon being delivered, there was a hole in couch so it had to be redelivered the very next day. A month later the recliner stopped reclining so I wait 8 weeks for a new one. Then about 8 months after buying it the stitching in couch start coming apart. So I wait again about 8 weeks. I get a new one delivered that was broken and let the delivery guys know that it didn't recline very well and they stated it's cause it's new and give it time. Then about 2 months after that the love seat stable or bar in the back of the couch is poking out and it cut me and the stitching coming out of the recliner.

I contact the store only to be declined cause my 1 yr warranty is expired. You would think they would still honor it because it had just expired. I purchased a lot from them and as you see I had a ton of issues. The store no longer carries this set. I wonder why. I will contact the BBB on this. I emailed corporate but never heard back. This company sells cheap furniture and doesn't want to make it right with a customer.
