I just read way too many complains about American Laser Center which got me disappointed and made me write this review. I guess it just depends on the location one is visiting. I have been visiting American Laser Center in Fremont and so far I am loving it. The staff is extremely nice and professional. Scheduling is also very flexible. And as far as my hair removal treatment, it's going great.
I am doing hair removal for my legs and underarms. I have only been through three treatments and I already see a difference. The hair has gotten very thin and comes out far apart. Not just me but my sister is also one of their clients who has done five treatment of hair removal on her lags and has seen great results. I also recommended two of my co-workers who will soon be one of American Laser Center client.
So like I said it just depends on the location one is visiting. I can assure that American Laser Center in Fremont would be a great choice for a person who is not comfortable and undecided about hair removal in American Laser Center.
I won $300 worth of treatment..... Boy was I lucky! I completed and signed papers to get the treatment financed. I later received a denial letter. "We are unable to grant financing." OK no problem. I can't afford the treatment so I let it go. I get a call from the finance co. for a payment. I explained to them that they denied the financing. They said "OK, I'll note the account."
Two years later I get a collection letter saying I owed over $2000.00. American Laser received money from Care Credit Plus (the sister company). They paid ALC over $1200.00 the balance is interest. They never connected me and informed me that they received the money. I contact ALC and was told that I needed to contact Care Credit. They intentionally received the money and kept it.
In my book that is theft. I am hoping that they will pay me the money they received in hopes that Credit Care will waive the interest under the circumstances or pay me the full $2,000.00 so that I can pay the finance company and get this off of my credit. I'll come back and let you know how it works out. I have contacted an attorney and have him on standby if they don't want to refund the money they received and kept a secret.
Hello everyone. Just wanted you guys to know to be careful when dealing with American Laser Centers. I went to sign up for a laser hair removal package treatment and they asked me for $300 deposit before my first treatment, but before my first appointment (which was in 7 days after paying deposit), I found out that I am pregnant, so I couldn't do it. I went back to cancel it and get $300 refund - but they said that they have $300 cancellation fee, so I will not be refunded!!! I was fighting it with their corporate office and with BBB with no results. So, I basically paid $300 in nowhere and did not get any service.
So, unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure that you want to finish your treatment - do not sign up with them!! Also, I would look look for a health insurance that might cover some of the hair removal cost if it causes any health problems - for example, ingrown hair. Thanks for reading and good luck!
SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN -- This is a warning to everyone who even considers using American Laser Centers. DO NOT DO IT! The company DOES NOT stand behind their guarantee. They will drag you through needless laser sessions, increase the sessions and increase the heat on the lasers. All the while making excuses such as "the technician didn't know what she was doing, are you tanning?" or my favorite "yes, we are taking care of the paperwork for you - we know you are a non-responder". Yes, they have a technical term for those of us who the laser doesn't work on.
It took me YEARS to get the company to respond. I would leave messages with their customer service (ha, now that's a great name for someone who doesn't forward the messages), the customer service reps would say that their area manager would contact me in a day. Which on 6 different occasions never occurred.
I finally contacted an attorney and had to take them to court. I would suggest that each and everyone of you who have been deceived by this company take this step because you will never get them to respond. If you are in Michigan, my attorney is ** in Belleville, Mi and he's well aware of what this company is doing. Cut your losses and take them to court. If you haven't done business with American Laser Centers - DON'T.
SPOKANE, WASHINGTON -- I have been receiving laser hair removal from American Laser Centers for about two years. In this time I have had very poor results, only about a 30%-40% decrease in hair growth. I would continue to have the treatments done, however the location I went to closed down and the next closest location is over 250 miles away. I called to ask if American Laser Centers had a local company that would be taking over their clients or if they would issue a partial refund so I could have to procedures finished somewhere nearby and they told me the only option was to have the procedures finished at a different location.
I explained that I would not have signed up for their services if the clinic was that far away. I think it is very unreasonable for American Laser Centers to expect customers to travel over 500 miles round trip for a procedure. The regional manager that I spoke with about this matter was also very rude. They raised their voice and was very short with me and hung up on me before I had asked all my questions. I did not yell or curse during the call, so there was no reason for that behavior. I am extremely disappointed and displeased with the handling of this situation by American Laser Centers.
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- I've been undergoing treatment for laser hair removal for 3 YEARS and have had 0% success. In March of 2007 I was told I'd "won" a $300 gift certificate for laser hair removal from American Laser Center. I went to the free consultation, and was offered almost 50% off the normal price for a treatment on the bikini area. Seemed too good to be true, and now I know that it was.
The package I purchased was for 6 treatments and I was told that even though I'm strawberry blond, it would work -- guaranteed. Beyond that, I was told, if hair did grow back at any time in the following 2 years after my 6th treatment I could return for further treatment at no cost. But now 3 years later, I have one appointment left in my 2 year guarantee, and I've continued to be treated this entire time. I've seen 0% reduction!!!
When I asked for a refund I was told it wasn't company policy (even though that's not specified in ANY of the paperwork I signed), but instead I could continue to be treated for $50/per 30 minute session. I feel completely helpless, and I'm totally out over $1k. I've asked to speak to the Regional Manager, but was told that she would give me the same information. DO NOT PURCHASE SERVICES FROM THIS COMPANY AT ANY LOCATION!
In October 2009, I visited an American Laser Center located in Greenwood/Indianapolis, Indiana. I have since then been receiving bills for procedures I never fully committed to. Since my first visit, I have never been back to that office, nor have I been treated there for any procedure stating on my bills.
On January 5, 2010, I received a phone call from the financial bank stating these late fees have been reported, affecting my credit. I explained the situation, and was informed to contact American Laser customer service. After talking to a supervisor there, I was directed to dispute these charges, considering I have never been treated, and the transaction was false. I have been working in an office for four years, collaborating with banks that will finance patient's payments. No charge, whatsoever, should be accounted for until the patient has started a procedure.
Thus being said, the bills I am receiving will not be paid. American Laser Center should have never posted the transaction as a credit, therefore, needs to be refunded to the bank in which it has been lent from. I've contacted the office previously, and in return have received no call back. This whole situation seems unreal to me. How can somebody be billed and expected to pay money for a procedure that has or will never be done? American Laser Center is very unprofessional.
TEXAS -- American Laser Centers charge a $75 cancellation fee & will not waive it under any circumstance. I've been going to American Laser Center (Fort Worth location) for over a year now & have had very little hair loss. My contract states that I can continue to receive treatments for two years after my initial treatments are over. Recently, American Laser Center changed their cancellation policy. It's now $75 to cancel an appointment if you do not call them the day before.
They sometimes give reminder calls, but you can't depend on that as a reminder because it isn't consistent. They seldom have a human answering the phone, so you have to leave a message. And many times, they don't call you back until the following day. It's one of their many ways to gain extra $$ from you. I have almost two years left on my contract, but they will not let me come back until I pay their $75 fee. Beware of American Laser Centers because it's very expensive & you don't get what you pay for.
DEARBORN, MICHIGAN -- First off these people are unprofessional, rude and seem to have contempt for their clients. Once they have your money the smiles goes away. I've been going there for 2 years now and sill have not gotten the results I paid for ($1000.00). The procedures are very painful and all I've gotten are patchiness, pain and redness. I'm forced to go somewhere else where they have professionals, because it's apparent to me that I'm wasting my time and putting myself through unnecessary pain. I wish I did my homework before going to these people. Now I'm doing all I can to warn people of this company. Beware. American Laser Centers is a SCAM.
WESTMONT, ILLINOIS -- I also went to American Laser and they will not give me a refund. I had a c-section 3 months before and was in intense pain over their attempt. They kept saying it should be fine even though I was crying. Finally the girl stopped. I went to my doctor and my ob said to wait at least 1 year and my primary care doctor said I am not a candidate for this procedure. Even with 2 doctor notes stating that I am not a candidate, they still are not giving me a refund. I would like to join the lawsuit and I also know of another person too. They also refused to give me my medical records. Perhaps this is a medical malpractice issue too since they ignored me?
