My question is this. No one is trying to get out of the payment. Things happen people get behind. How do they get away with only accepting Western Union payments. If you are behind the chance that you have extra money is minimal. It's not fair that they demand this. You can't make the payment and they want more money. Some of their agents are actually human, some are not. The calling constantly and contacting others is ridiculous.
ARLINGTON, TEXAS -- I had a auto loan with Americredit. My finance balance was about 18100. I made 7 payments of 374.00 plus the ridiculous Western Union fee for 7 months and after 7 months the payoff balance was $17992. They credited just about 200 dollars out of $2618 at 13% interest rate. I spoke to a supervisor and she said that they penalize me with 3% to 4% extra interest because a deal with the auto dealership that I still don't know why.
They are out there to hurt customers left and right with their predatory lending. Their customer service are trained to get you not to help you. Every time you pay you have to pay a Western Union fee by phone by direct payment or on line you cannot escape from the Western Union fee. If they have to process something you have to pay. Let me make this clear that I never pay late. I just fell into the trap between the dealership and Americredit. Thank god that I refinance at 6% with my credit union. This was a nightmare. Just beware and stay away from Americredit. They will get you.
KENTUCKY -- I have been in a loan with this company for 3 months and 2 of the 3 months have been hell. Trying to get my payments in. I pay early and the payments don't go through the website. Their banking information (if saved on the site) changes monthly and they forget to make this known. I call in and just got into a fight with the representative because she refused to let me speak. She was right and I was wrong. If you want a continuous headache, go with this company. However I recommend DO NOT deal with this company at all. They shouldn't even be in business.
MICHIGAN -- I would like to say that I've had a great experience with Americredit. I've had to make several payments late (with interest of course) but they couldn't have been nicer to me. My interest is high 16% but when you have credit issues you have no one to blame but yourself. Thankfully my last payment is Dec 2008.
