Awful Experience

BROOKFIELD, WISCONSIN -- NOT WORK WITH BORIS. Do not shop at this store unless you want a nightmare. This is the worst customer experience I've ever had and I mean every word of that. FIRST and foremost it's important for you to know that in the "fine print" they reserve the right to alter your custom order without asking you, without telling you and as they deem fit. You get to find out when the furniture is delivered and 4 inches shorter than you ordered. We even called Boris 3 times before placing the order to confirm that this particular chair, in this particular fabric, on this frame would be this height.

As a natural salesman he assured us everything would be that way, only to find out 8 weeks later it would not be that way. Of course when you call to understand why you are told they no longer make that item and it will have to stay as is and please accept our tiny discount. SECOND do not plan on getting that discount for weeks. We have been on the phone with Boris asking where the refund is.

We are told it was processed and the email should be arriving saying it was processed, however no email. So they ask for another email address, we give it to them and still no email. Almost feels as though they are avoiding processing the refund. THIRD let me also point out we believe there is also call dodging going on.

My wife has called multiple times and asked for Boris only to be told "he's with another customer and will call back" and as you can guess no he does not call back. She calls again and is told he is with a customer, so she decided to call back immediately from our house phone (different number) and wouldn't you know it, Boris answers! This is ridiculous, the store is ridiculous, we still have no refund and we owe it to fellow customers to inform them... just read the other reviews and do not shop here!!

Not What I Ordered

EDINA, MINNESOTA -- Arhaus - Furniture store - Edina MN - Buyer Beware. August 2017, ordered several pieces of furniture, including a custom chair and 2 custom sofas (74" length & 46" depth and 94" length & 46" depth. November 2017 rec'd damage chair with tags removed, rec'd both sofas 2"+ shorter in length and depth, one sofa has tags for Crate and Barrel, the other Arhaus, very odd. Also, purchased extra insurance for all pieces. I was told the documents for the additional insurance on all pieces would be delivered with the furniture, it wasn't.

Called and worked with concierge service and directly with the store manager to resolve issues and have correct furniture ordered and delivered. Both concierge service and manager informed me that the new furniture would be correct and the furniture insurance documents would be delivered with the new/corrected furniture, but the new furniture would not be delivered until some time in February 2018.

The store manager stated that for my inconvenience he would reimburse me $750. Feb 2018. New furniture delivered, sofas still the wrong size. Nor, did I receive the insurance docs or the promised check. Because the sofas were not correct I refused delivery. Spoke to the store manager, Robert and he said he would get back to me, that was a week ago. I have left several voice messages, but he has not returned any of my calls. Spoke to the concierge service, Rachel stated that because this is a custom piece it can be 2" shorter in length and depth than what I order, are you kidding me?

Nowhere in any of the documentation I receive states anything of this nature. If you ordered a sofa that is advertised as such but sends items 2+ inches shorter in length and depth isn't that false advertisement? Yes, it is. I have no other recourse than to pursue litigation in order to obtain a full refund, which I plan on doing as soon as I speak to my attorney.

THOUSAND OAKS, CALIFORNIA -- Sadly for me, before I excepted this position I didn't look on glassdoor.com to see the SCATHING reviews about this company. Arhaus is a complete joke! I was lied to about the commission tier, which by the way is pathetically LEAN ! Bottom line, there's no way to make money at Arhaus. They coddle their top performing designers that steal your leads right out of your hand and/or split the sale without your consent. I'm not really quite sure how you're supposed to make any money when your leads are being stolen and they're so desperate that they hire so many people to flood the Sales floor.

They originally told me that they don't want salespeople to rush customers at the door but now they're soooo desperate for sales it's required. By the way, be sure you have your janitorial license because you're required to vacuum, dust, and clean-the store, toilets and all because they're too cheap to hire a cleaning service. Yet they spend frivolous money on sending cookies & candy to "motivate" the design consultants to sell 😡
Here's the thing, this company grew too fast and retail is suffering as a whole. Arhaus is putting so much pressure on their managers & sales people to bring in the business and it's just not happening. They don't advertise to bring people in the door so it's miserable. And lastly, but important, management is sub par, micro managing, condescending bullies! They treat you like a kindergartner; scolding you at every turn for the most stupid reasons, it's just ridiculous. I'm a seasoned Salesperson who's been awarded for being a top performer at many of my positions. I won't tolerate being treated like a child!! Really?..
The POS system is so antiquated that customers freak out about how long it takes to ring up the simplest item such as a candle! They get so agitated they're ready to walk out of the store, and that is really not appealing at all. This is one of the worst environments/company cultures that I have ever worked in . So, if you're listening and you're reading this please heed my warning ⚠️ don't even get involved with this company!! Go to www.glassdoor.com & you will see the numerous reviews, with the same common thread of complaints on and on.. yeah it's a beautiful store with beautiful products but that's it. Save yourself and don't even bother, they will drive you into the ground !!

Defective Couch

FREEHOLD, NEW JERSEY -- I purchased a couch in August 2016 and paid nearly $3,000 from Arhaus furniture store in Freehold, NJ. I noticed that within a few weeks of delivery, the couch made a loud squeaking noise whenever anyone sat or moved on the couch. I called the Concierge and reported my complaint. A furniture expert came to our house and although he mentioned that there were no apparent structural issues, he could clearly hear the squeaking noise and believed that it was a matter of adjusting one of the legs, however, he would have to submit the report before making any corrections.

Several weeks passed and no one contacted me, I had to call and was advised that there was nothing to be done and refused to give me a copy of the report. I was infuriated to say the least and called the Freehold store and requested to speak with the manager. The manager never came to the phone and the following day I received a call back from an associate advising me to contact the Concierge as there was nothing they could do. As I tried to explain that I already went through that process, I was constantly interrupted and told that there was nothing they could do!

This was my first experience with Arhaus and my last. I have bought furniture from Ethan Allen and the high quality and superb customer service is unsurpassable. Luckily, I contacted my credit card company and placed a dispute and they assisted me since Arhaus was not willing to rectify the problem, the credit of the purchase of my couch is now permanent.

Actually, I would have preferred if Arhaus had picked up my couch so I can actually go back to Ethan Allen and purchase a couch which is constructed in high quality. I would highly recommend NOT to purchase any items from Arhaus as you will never get anything resolved if you encounter any issues with the product, in particular if you are dealing with the Freehold, NJ store.

Furniture Order

LITTLETON, COLORADO -- I selected furniture totaling $20,148 and gave a 50% deposit. The agreement stated that the special order goods would take "up to 12 weeks for production". It is now 13 weeks and no delivery date in sight, maybe by the end of May which would place it at or about 17-18 weeks. And the salesperson told me that they manufacture their upholstered furniture but when I called the corporate office I was told that the vendor manufacturing the sectional that I ordered had fabric issues. They refuse to offer a refund and since I didn't find out about the delay until I called - at 12 weeks - to schedule delivery, I had already sold my old furniture. Buyer beware!

Sectional Dune Sofa

NORTH CAROLINA -- I purchased a washable fabric slip covered dune sectional sofa approximately one year ago. To get it slip covered increase the cost of the sectional quite a bit, but I loved the idea of a washable fabric that could stand the test of time. Over this past year, I have washed the slipcovers once, in a super large front load washing machine on hand wash cycle, about 6 months in, then about the one year or 14 month mark, I notice that the fabric piping is coming apart/fraying. I contact their concierge's service, who tell me there is nothing they can do, it isn't covered by warranty, they can't even send someone out to look at repairing it or replacing it. Especially for the price I paid, that is no service at all. I don't recommend Arhaus furniture.

I Have Been Fighting With This Store for 3 Years!

ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND -- In 2016 I spent over $20,000 on furniture for my new home. I returned 2 pieces that were a gift so that I could get the pieces I really wanted. The sofa that I purchased was delivered (after waiting almost a month) in the wrong color. Had to wait almost 5 more weeks to get the correct one. The bed frame was put together wrong and there were holes showing along the top edges. As if this was not bad enough, I received a notice almost 3 years later that they had sent my account to a collections agency and that they thought I owed them over $4000!

Now I don't know of too many stores that deliver furniture to you without payment. I gave them part cash and the rest on my credit card, but they gave the collections agency a piece of paper that only showed the purchases and the exchange but not the credits. Now it is up to me to prove to the agency that my account was paid in full but I cannot get any help from Arhaus. This is beyond belief!! I may have to pay for an attorney because of their incompetence.

Disappointing And Awful Quality

PALM BEACH, FLORIDA -- Unbelievably disappointed with the quality of our sectional and fabric, even more update at the customer service! DO NOT BUY FROM ARHAUS! We recently bought our first house and decided to invest in quality pieces for our home. I heard such great reviews about Arhaus from friends and decided to visit their showroom. We loved the sectional and picked a performance fabric to ensure the longevity of our piece. $5,000 dollars and 4 months later, we have a completely fuzzy and worn sectional. The fabric is faulty, consistently pilling and fuzzing all over the piece making it look like a 10 year old sectional.

I am embarrassed at the state of the piece and so update that I wasted so much on their upholstery. I called customer service and they said they can not do anything for me and their only solution was a sweater shaver. I was appalled. They said it was inherent in the fabric chosen. Not one sales person prefaced my selection with a "hey, this fabric tends to fuzzy and pill all over in a short amount of time, maybe you should take that into consideration". Since I was never warned, I undoubtedly few this as an Arhaus mistake that they should correct.

I am also an interior designer and if I ever spec'd a fabric to client and they told me it was pilling after 4 months, I would take it back, no questions asked. This is not the case with Arhaus! They are not helpful, considerate, or polite and can care less with their reputation as a company. I wish I would of done more research before buying, when posting my reviews I saw tons more just like mine. SHAM ON YOU ARHAUS!!!

Overpriced Sofa With Substandard Quality.

HACKENSACK, NEW JERSEY -- I purchased a Bridget sofa from Arhaus in Cartell ink color. First really substandard customer service. The order that was supposed to arrive 2 weeks later arrived almost 2 months after. After few days of receiving the sofa I noticed that the sofa had its seam opened. Called them, took pictures and the concierge told me they will send me a replacement. The replacement came in month and a half later. Few months later I started noticing that the seat in the sofa looks lifted at all times giving the sofa the look of being raised from the front. Looks very odd.

Called concierge again. Sent in pictures. They refused to give me refund but made me do a reselect in store. However they kept pushing me to keep the sofa because according to them this is the look of the sofa. When I went to the store everything was so overpriced that I had to most spend a 1500 dollars extra for a sofa on top of my 2400 that I already spent! Totally was not going to put any more money in a brand that is deceiving clients left and right. I had to suck it up and kept the sofa.

Do Not Honor The Lifetime Guarantee.

PERRYSBURG, OHIO -- I bought an entire living room of Arhaus furniture. The chairs and couches had a lifetime guarantee on the frames. One of the couches needed repairs, and it was repaired at no cost. Then the same frame issue, in the same spot on the same couch reoccurred. Arhaus sent out a repairman with a company they must contract out. The repairman was 2 hours late, walked in, was very arrogant, inspected the couch for no more than a minute or two, and then left. I never got a call about what the results of the "inspection" were.

I ended up calling Arhaus after several weeks of being patient. They informed me that the repairman said the issue shouldn't be covered under the lifetime guarantee! So, I was given a couple of numbers to call to have it repaired. Called them and left messages, which were never returned. I now have a broken couch with the lining under the couch hanging (the "repairman" cut it when he did the inspection, and never reattached it, so it now hangs visibly down). That was the third issue I have had with Arhaus.

Another issue was when I had new slipcovers made for the same couches. They do not fit correctly, and they were costly. Also, I put a down payment down on a bed, and when I went to arrange delivery, they had sold it to someone else. I love the style of Arhaus furniture, but with the high cost of their goods, guarantees need to be upheld. It was in part the reason I paid the high price for the furniture. And thinking I could update the furniture with new slipcovers, it was a plus. But the slipcovers do not fit. My love affair with Arhaus furniture is sadly over.
