NAPERVILLE, ILLINOIS -- The seam on the back of my chair had split open. Haven't had the chair for 3 months, so called the warranty company to get it repaired. They said they'd send me a piece of leather & to call to arrange the repair. Received leather, called tech & made an appointment. Turns out, they had sent me the wrong piece of leather & the guy was just there to make a report. According to his report, he claimed that my chair was burned, not coming apart at the seams. I argued & eventually got a new tech sent out to look at the chair. He agreed with me & said seam was coming apart, it's not a burn. He told me he would order the necessary pieces for repair & it would get fixed. I just received another call from the warranty department & they claim that they will still not fix my chair under warranty. I will NEVER buy from them again.Add reply
Sofa recliner will not shut all the way. They came to do repairs three times and could not fix it. Been on the phone approx. 15 times complaining. Asked them to replace sofa and they refused. Now the leg cushion padding is sagging very badly. Set is guaranteed for one year and we bought it in March 2013. They also refuse to come and look at it. 2 Replies - Latest reply on 08/19/2013Add reply

You may get a good deal but I had not one but two purchases in 2012 and 2013 where they had to have a repair person come out on mutiple visits to fix what was suppose to be new. In one case they had to sand and spray paint in the living room the TV center that was scratched up from delivery!

NEW JERSEY -- Maybe 4 years ago we bought a nice table and chairs from Ashley furniture. The chairs have fabric backs and leather seats. Well lately I have noticed little signs that tears are beginning in many of my chairs. It seems as if the leather is so thin that the chairs have not held up to normal use. I don't even have small children in my home and we basically use the table for dinner.

I called the company and although they spoke to me there is no recourse. I am out of luck. This was a set I thought I would have for many years. The woman on the phone asked me if I conditioned the leather and I said no. I have my leather couch for over 10 years and never conditioned that either and that looks awesome. They skimped on the thickness of the leather and no it's ripping. End of story
AUSTIN, TEXAS -- We bought two recliners. They had a limited warranty on the springs. We had two springs that broke in one of the chairs. We called customer service they said they would send someone out for $87.00 to inspect and see if it was a manufacturing defect. I said, I only wanted the two springs, I did not need them installed. They called back and said the item was discontinued and they could not get the parts, even though the warranty was still within the time frame.

I consider this the poorest form of customer service! They did not even attempt to help us solve our problem, just blew us off. Bad form for a company that spends in the millions advertising to get customers in their store and then will not take care of them when they have even a simple problem !!!!!We intend to make it our personal mission to make the public aware of the horrible customer service!
BOLINGBROOK, ILLINOIS -- First time buyer at Ashley furniture and there is one problem after another. First on all I went in and purchased three twin beds including mattress, frame, and head boards. The delivery day came and the furniture is just dropped off and not set up.
I call to ask manager why and they didn't have time, he calls me back explaining that the drivers said I refused set up. Then they sold me mattress with no box springs making me think that they were included in the price, but once delivery it is revealed that they are not. Customer service is horrible. First and last time buying there.
SMITHTOWN, NEW YORK -- I purchased two couches and one recliner from Ashley. The salesperson told me about the "wonderful" "Protection" policy which cost over $300.00 but they assured me that this would protect my furniture for five years! No matter what! After one year and two months the rocker frame began to bend and the leather was turning white. They send a repair man who moved the chair in the middle of the room said it was rug stuffed the seat on one side with stuffing to give the alusion of being straight and let.

When I sat in the chair and tried to recline...I nearly broke my neck the chair fell apart. Ashley will not stand behind Guardsman (the wonderful protection company. Guardsman said it will not replace the chair they told me it was unfortunate I did not stab it with a knife they maybe they would be able to replace it. As far as I am concerned Ashley should go out of business. I have been stressing and not have escalated this matter to the Department of Consumer Affairs. Fed Up in New York
MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Horrible!! They lie to you the moment you place your order. Ordered $2000.00 worth of furniture. Was told two weeks, then six weeks. It's been four months now and after many phone calls and being left on hold forever many times, finally received part of our order. Was given many lame excuses as to why the rest of my order was not delivered. If I ever receive the rest of my furniture in new condition, I will never step foot in Ashley furniture again.
The furniture I did receive was not completely painted and had nicks and scratches and had damages. This place is awful. Never buy from this company!
LEDGEWOOD, NEW JERSEY -- Don't ever shop here! You are wasting your money! Don't even shop if they give you credit!!!! Purchased two love seats and a sofa here. All three broke within the first three weeks. Even though we took out the warranty, they did not stand by their merchandise. They caught an attitude when we called to tell them about the problems we've had and never offered to make good on any of it. I would buy used furniture in a thrift store before going back here. Now I am stuck with inferior, broken furniture and still owe over $1,000. JUNK!Add reply
Ordered bed room suit 4th of July. Told me middle of the month on delivery after I paid. Said everywhere will have that delivery time. Ordered living room suit from American signature on the same day. It was delivered 5 days later. Called Ashley to check on order and they tell me end of July until delivery. WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER DIME FROM ME. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Add reply
EATONTOWN, NEW JERSEY -- We went into the Eatontown store and told the sales person what we were looking for and we were just looking. I made sure she understood that, and this was our first stop. After leading us all over the store she said well what are we buying today. I told her we were not ready to buy. My girlfriend said well what is the price of a certain couch that was in the flier. She said oh that price is suggested and not the real sales price. We found that strange. So we started heading out. Then the sales person got the manager and then the pressure was on. He started to try and pressuring us to buy and I was done. If its a sale and the flier has a price that should be the price. It's against the law to false advertise a sale. Put the real price on your furniture. I'm so glad after reading other reviews that I bought my new sofa some place else, with much better customer service and no pressure. At Ashley I felt like I was at used car dealer in Vegas.Add reply
