MIAMI, FLORIDA -- This company was given grant money by the state to provide hurricane shutters and storm doors to homeowners who qualified through the My Safe Florida Home Program. It has been over 2 years since the work and damage was done to my property and I was told that all damages would be taken care of by the company.
I had decorative columns around one of my bedroom windows that the laborers tore down without consulting me the homeowner first. My sensor for my home alarm that was on my front door was damaged, my children's play house was damaged as well. The contractor for this company, ** came out to the property and surveyed the damage and the work that had been done and told my boyfriend that the job was a shabby job and to just make a list of everything that was damaged and he will make sure it gets repaired.
An estimate to repair the damage to the columns and stucco around the bedroom window was sent into the company and I continued to be told that my name was up on their board to have repairs done but the repairs were never done. What I am so angry about is that the owner of the company ignored numerous phone calls, and emails regarding this matter. Measurements were taken of my windows prior to installation and my columns were up and I was never informed that the columns were in the way or that they would have to be torn down. If I would have been told that I would not have gotten the hurricane shutters. I would have passed.
I want everyone to know that this company is a dishonest company and they do not care about the consumer. I have done everything I could possibly do besides take them to court, because I just cannot afford to do that. I don't think I was asking too much when I asked them to just repair the damage to the stucco and replace my columns that their employees tore down without my consent.
