Double Charges For Internet Email Address

LEESBURG, GEORGIA -- Yesterday was a day to remember in customer service and broken promises. My email address was suspend because I no longer had dial up service. I now have DSL service. The company says I have to pay for my email address since it was assigned to my dial up service. I was told I could keep my email address which I have had for over 10 years. No one said anything about paying $7.95 just to keep the address.

I was on the telephone for 1 hour and 45 minutes just to find out I need to pay for the email address. The large company just keeps finding ways to take your monies for something that was promised to start with. Oh by the way. I cancelled my dial up when I got DSL. They had no record of the cancellation and were still charging me for the service. I guess the right hand doesn't talk to the left hand. I hope they read this and correct this poor customer service practice.

I won't even try to describe the entire nightmare we have gone through with AT&T. We have discontinued the service and still the nightmare continues. We have spent hours on the phone with them and their people are worthless, they transfer you from person to person and no one solves the problem.

Since we have cancelled the service, they have sent a refund check which no one can explain. And then a week later, a letter threatening to turn over to collection agency, the exact same amount that they had sent a refund check for. I would recommend that anyone considering business with AT&T run like crazy. The worst experience of my life and I'm 62 years old, so I've had a few.

FORT PIERCE, FL -- I got U-verse internet service from AT&T. I was told payment is $14.95 for 6 months. 2 months later it was 24.95 and now is 56.95 and this is only 4 months up to now. I'm really surprised they can do this. Is that legal? Please advise me. Thanks.
