Don't get Taken by Autohaus
Posted by on
HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA -- I purchased a car from Autohaus in November 17 of 2009, its January 12 of 2010, and I still do not have a vehicle. I have asked them repeatedly to return my money to me, they will not return my money or give me the vehicle. Beware of buying vehicles from used car dealerships like Autohaus, because now I have no option but to take them to court to get my money back, which is a hassle that I do not need. Its been really cold and windy over here and I'm sitting at the bus stop waiting for a bus whiles these guys are sitting on my money and driving the vehicle around. PLEASE do not purchase any used vehicle from this company unless you know you have money to deal with attorney fees. Autohaus Group has taken me for a ride and I will never buy used again, I'd rather pay at a credible dealership than waste my time with these mom & pop fraudulent dealerships.

Why do you not have the car you paid for? Details would be helpful. How much did you pay and why have they not given you the money or the car?
LAME dealers on 01/12/2010:
I paid $8000.00 for the car, the same day I took it off the lot I took it to Firestone and got it checked. They said it had a transmission problem so I took it back to the dealer, they said they can't give me my money back but they can fix the car and I would have to pay half of the cost. I said okay I'll pay the half no problem but its been like 2months already and they still won't fix it so I asked for my money back. They won't return the car and won't return me my money, plus they still have the car listed for sale on their site. Can you say I didn't get taken for a ride?

Please forgive for making this comment as it is not helpful at all but weather will be warmer after weeks of cold temperature in FL.

You need a lawyer. Hopefully, the next car you buy, you'll take it to Firestone BEFORE you write the check.

I think you need to follow Ken's advice. Also, I would find out who regulates car dealers in Florida and file a complaint with them.

I don't understand why you would pay for a car and THEN take it to a dealer to get looked at? You should have told them youre test driving it and taking it to someone to inspect the car....If they argued with you, I would have left the lot immediately. Most reputable car dealers wouldn't have a problem with that.

Another example why (SOME BUT NOT ALL) females should take along a car savvy guy when shopping for a car. Is it safe to assume that the OP is a female?
Dealerships salivate over single females on their lots.
Sad but true. (VH)

You always get the used car checked before you put the money down. It's rare that a state affords protection to used car buyers. Massachusetts is one exception, but it's run by the Kennedys, who believe the government should run all aspects of everyone's life. Unless your a Kennedy, and then the government does't apply to you.

Anyway, checked the Florida government site. They have one of the best "how to guides" for buying a used car I've seen. Check it out:

Hopefully that begins to change next Tuesday, GD

Not going to happen, Ken. Despite what Fox News is saying the polls say.

check your local laws
some states have lemon laws pertaining to situations like that

I am very cautiously optimistic, GD. She's a toad, and he is very charismatic, and people here are *very* mad at the dems. I think they will still probably vote along party lines, but an upset is more than a little bit possible.

Drudge reported today that Brown posed nude (in 1982)for Cosmo, and immediately won him all the gay vote. Heck, if I looked that good, I'd have posed too.
