Beware Banks Will steal
Posted by Ipswich2 on 07/14/2009
UTAH -- It's not like years ago when our monies were protected with the help of banking. Today, many banks practice dishonest uncaring acts that are supported by MASTER CARD.

I made an online order and changed my mind hours after placing the order. My attempts to cancel the order with the merchant was ignored and failed. The reason being if ignored long enough the merchants can take your money and fail to provide the product or service and the bank will support that act.

I complained with Bank Freedom who had no intentions of putting the funds back into my account and putting the decision onto master card without giving reasonable justification.

BANK STEAL AND GET AWAY WITH IT...... IT IS ABOUT TIME AMERCIAN'S DO SOMETHING TO PUT A STOP TO COMPANIES STEALING OUR MONEIE WITHOUT RECOURSE.

In many current online purchase processes, the order almost immediately goes into a pick status where it can't be cancelled. You can, however, return the product in most cases. As we don't know who the merchant is, it's kind of speculative at this point.

I'm not sure how this is an issue of the bank stealing money. Is the allegation that the bank is somehow colluding with the online merchant?

As you made the purchase of something obviously nonrefundable, the bank didn't steal anything from you.

You handed your credit card # over to an online merchant who wouldn't cancel an order, and now it's the banks fault?
If the merchant won't cancel, you have to dispute the charge, and the bank has to investigate both sides of the story. They can't legally just cancel a charge.
