WISCONSIN -- This place has gone to h*ll in a hand-basket. I hate going here which is bad because I had always loved this place. It's bad enough that their inventory system must be a monkey using an abacus. But now you can't go through the checkout without being confronted to buy their credit card. And for about 5 years now "can I have your zip code?". I'm giving you money, you're giving me stuff. That's how retail works. It's not a bank, I'm not there to take your survey. I avoid this place now unless I just can't find it anywhere else. Another new thing is trying to sell you an extended warranty - no **, they tried to sell me an extended warranty on a machinist-vise!
Ya, like I'm going to spend $12 to put a warranty on a $40 vise that will never break in a million years. Previous poster was right - every time I go there they have one more thing that they don't sell anymore to make way for the candy & crap. I see now they are cheapening down their power tools. Good tools was one of the few reasons I went there. Menards sells crap tools and now so does F&F. A great example: They sell Delta mortising machines - problem is they don't sell the bits for it anymore and the machine doesn't come with any. Real bright! Just for grins, go down any aisle and see how many hooks and shelves are empty.
The fun part is they put a little red dot to let you know how long they've been out of them - what a joke. They stock just as many 1/4" drill bits as they do 15/16" bits. Gee, no wonder they're always out of 1/4" bits. If I had a nickel for every time I went there and they were out of what I needed, I'd have enough money to buy this ** and make a store out of it. "Farm & Fleet - If they don't have it, you probably needed 2 of them." There, I feel better now. Time to run to Menards.
