I lost my money

I signed up for this website because it was supposed to be a small fee of 1.97 to get started and get something in the mail. They never said that any other money was to be taken. I was supposed to get a cd starter kit in the mail but I never got it, and that was on April 30, 2007. It is now July 1st, 2007, way over 4 to 6 weeks!!! I can't even use the password they sent me, and when you press the forgotten login/password on their website it just says call or email them and you don't get a response back. The customer service people don't help at all when you call. I want my money back. I gave a credit card number.

Here is what I got emailed to me:

I'm not up on these blogs, but is it necessary for someone to pay for help in establishing one? Also, as soon as I read the part about "you can start earning cash immediately", it started smelling a lot like a scam.

I know there are too many "make your own money" scams on the web, but when you start getting desperate for money, you think or hope that you won't get screwed. That was my own fault. But luckily I just got an email saying they are refunding my money back, which is good. If they want to keep their business, they have to be cooperative.

Another succor they found was me. Got a phone call at my home, even though I hadn't asked for anything from them. Joined at the $1.97, but logged in to look everything over before letting them charge me. That was on 6/25 and as of 7/10 I haven't gotten anything. I lost the 800 number they gave me to call and request a refund. I was lucky enough to catch at the end of the call that after 14 days it would be $39.95 monthly, so I told him not to bother. He talked me into the 14 days, and I called about a week later to cancel and they never have put anything additional on my card, but I still want my $1.97 back. Checked all the URL's today and they are all DEAD!! I will try to follow up on the whole thing.

Refuse to Refund Fraudulent Purchase

My brother-in-law stole my credit card and used it to buy their supposed service on her computer to cost us money in a manner that would keep us from receiving a service or alert in time to cancel before being charged but in a manner preventing him from being found guilty. He moved out during the grace period. Since then I have received refunds from all other companies, filed a police report and received a restraining order. AVOID THIS COMPANY: Blog Tool Kit refuses to refund me saying anyone can file a police report and that I should have known about the charge. They say there is nothing they can do about it but obviously they can and simply refuse too. Also ever time I call the same man Alex answers but acts like it is the first time he has spoken to me each time. They don't care about fraud so long as they can prove a legal right to the money. They implied that I'm not being honest but deny they are doing that. If they are willing to be so flippant about fraud and I haven't not seen a product or service of any kind in any form I advise everyone to avoid Blog Tool Kit as they or perhaps he only cares about raking in the money and being arrogant about deserving your hard earned money.

From what I can tell they are a blogging company. Ironically this is the closeted to blogging I ever get. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

You can dispute the charge with your credit card company, but they are probably going to want to see that you filed charges against your BIL. If you did, they'll reverse the charges.

Yes, do what Ken said. I've disputed a charge before and Cap One removed the charge, advised me of the process, and sent me paperwork when the dispute was closed. Your CC co should do the same. I believe Blog Tool Kit will have 30 days to respond to the dispute, so make sure you follow up on the dispute process.
