SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- DON'T SHOP HERE GUYS! If I could give a lesser star rating I would. My husband and I just bought our first house so naturally, we went furniture shopping. In the store, we were guaranteed delivery on November 12th for a couch if we signed up for the credit card. We signed up. Two days before delivery we receive 3-5 calls a day confirming different delivery dates. I took it upon myself to call and come to find out, the biggest piece of our couch is not available for another week. We confirmed the last piece to be delivered the 16th, the 19th, and then (without calling us) we were confirmed for the 24th- THE DAY OF OUR WEDDING. It took SIX wasted visits and four months to finally get our couch set up correctly. This is completely unacceptable, messy and shady business behavior and I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau for lying and bribing us into getting their credit card and for lying about the delivery dates serval times over. It was the most unnecessarily stressful buying experience we've had to go through...and all for a COUCH!

WOODBRIDGE, VIRGINIA -- I ordered a dining room set a month and a half ago which still hasn't arrived. They have scheduled delivery on four different occasions, two time of which I took off work, and each time they called last minute to either push the delivery back or send a partial order. They finally showed up with the furniture yesterday, the delivery driver got an attitude with my wife, then left without delivering the furniture. Now, they call me telling me that since they didn't deliver it, they are giving it to the next person in line so I'm not going to have my table to basically another month. They are punishing me for their customer service. Worst company I've ever dealt with and I'll never go there again.

FLEETWOOD, PENNSYLVANIA -- I purchased a three piece sectional and an ottoman, all in the same color- federal blue. I needed to take a day off from work for the delivery. The delivery men arrive, and one of the sectional pieces is a cream color. I told them it was the wrong color, and they placed it back on the truck. I called customer service, hoping to get the correct delivery that same day since I had taken off from work but was told I would need to schedule yet another delivery day and take yet another day off from work. I was furious. I spoke with a manager, and she told me to call after my second delivery arrived, and they would refund my delivery fee. So I took another day off from work and waited for my delivery. After it was delivered I called customer service and spoke to a different manager who told me she would not refund my delivery fee, even though there were notes in my account of my conversation with the previous manager. I love my furniture, but the customer service is beyond terrible. I will never purchase from Bob's again.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- I am beyond frustrated with the customer service and the in-service repair provided through the opps insurance I purchased with my furniture. I continue to get the run-around from Bob's customer service as appointments are made for repair to be done and technicians fail to show up and then blame the customer. I have made now five attempts to have a bed I bought just months ago in March from Bob's fixed as the slates and the rail have cracked. Now I am hearing from customer service that the problem is in the manufacturing of the bed and a swap of the frame needs to be done. This is the fifth time I have made an appointment with them for their technicans to be a no-show. There is no respect for the customer's time or schedule. I have asked to speak to a supervisor twice and I have yet to receive a phone call after being told that they would contact me shortly to go over what has happened. There is no reason for the frame of a bed that is less than five months old to break in the manner that it did and it is absolutely inexcusable for Bob's technicians to continue to not fulfill service requests. They have not provided me with any sort of compensation for the time wasted in waiting for them to fix this issue. They have not reached out to me to talk with me about what is going on or provided any solution for how to move forward with a gaurentee that this will not happen again. If I could rate them a zero, that is exactly what I would have given them.

Horrible Delivery Experience

ATTLEBORO, RHODE ISLAND -- I had a horrible experience with Bob's Discount Furniture delivery. The delivery was scheduled for Saturday and I took whole day out just waiting for them. And when they arrived I had the freight elevator ready. The only issue was the loading dock was occupied so I asked them to take the furniture up small set of stairs just to get to the freight elevator and then they can use elevator to transfer furniture. And they lied to my face saying it's their policy and they are not allowed to carry the furniture even a little bit up the stairs (which I later checked and found out they were lying).

The stairs were not even that many. They just had to get to the first level where the freight elevator was there. And they did the same to other people on the same day by denying to deliver. And then they lied on phone to Bob's Discount saying that I didn't reserve the freight elevator which was **.

I told Bob's Discount Furniture about this and they tried to talk to them to ask them to deliver and they just denied. And as a compensation, Bob's Discount person promised to give me 100$ in my account and asked to call back and when I did they said, "We can't give you 100$ but only 50$." So after promising me 100$ compensation they lied and gave me only 50$. They don't seem to care about customer satisfaction. I was a long time customer but I am never buying from Bob's Discount Furniture again. Because of delivery guys not wanting to do their job we had to take a day off from work for another delivery on weekday.

Installer Stripped the Head of a Screw When Installing

WOODBRIDGE, NEW JERSEY -- I've had a set of bunk beds purchased from Bob's for 5 years. Recently I moved them to a room recently renovated. I found one of the 8 4" star head screws was stripped. I placed a repair call and the repair tech arrived today. I was told I had 3 days to contact them with any install issued. That they didn't have access to the parts and could do nothing. The way this bed is constructed you must use the original parts. When I spoke to a manager he very nonchalantly said sorry theirs nothing he could do. I will NEVER shop at Bob's again. Now, after looking at the reviews, I wonder why I ever did. They've lost a customer for the lack of a 50 cent screw.

NORTH FAYETTE, PENNSYLVANIA -- We purchased a mattress from Bob's and when asked if we wanted delivery, we asked if removal of old mattress was included. We were told yes so we got the delivery. After the new mattress was delivered and set up, the delivery guys left the old mattress and box spring in our yard.

When I called to ask about it, I was told that yes they remove the old mattress but only if you ask which was not what I was told. The next person I spoke to said yes they will remove the old mattress but not if it has tears which again was not what I was told. Next, I called the Monroeville store and asked if removal of the old mattress was included with mattress delivery and was told yes. I was not given any qualifications.

The next person I talked to said that they will not take the old mattress if there are bedbugs which makes sense then told me that was why they didn't take the mattress. When I asked for proof of this they could not give it. We had an exterminator come immediately and was told there are no bed bugs anywhere. I called the company again and was told that mattress removal was a courtesy and they didn't have to take it. Again not what I was told. We would not have purchased the overpriced delivery option if it wasn't for the mattress removal. We were misled from the beginning and it is obvious that employees themselves do not know the actual facts.

NEW HAMPSHIRE -- I purchase a set of bunk beds for my grandchildren. When they came to deliver/install them, they found one of the footboards damaged. They had to order a new one and it would take another week to be delivered again. All through this my grandchildren had to sleep on the floor. They called 2 days before delivery and was told that they would be at the house between 6 and 10 am. I called them to state this is unacceptable and my son in law should not have to take another full day off of work to accommodate them. They showed up at 7am and called my daughter to find out why no one was home.

It took another 2 days of negotiations between customer care and the store in Nashua, NH to finally get a time acceptable to us. The team showed up, installed all the parts and left. I went over to see how they looked and found that they put the beds together incorrectly and there was no way I was going to let my grandkids get on them. Instead of trying to fight again with customer care, my son in law and I spent the afternoon fixing their screw up again. When I called customer care to see what they would do about it, they said all they could give me a is a $50 gift card to the store. Why the hell would I EVER want to buy anything there again. The customer care sucks.

LATHAM, NEW YORK -- The sales guy Joe C in the Latham store was very helpful. He wasn't pushy at all like a lot of sales people but was also available when I needed him. I had a great experience buying my sectional and coffee table there today. UPDATE ***** DO NOT ORDER FROM BOBS DISCOUNT FURNITURE. The delivery guy shows up. Rude as hell. Doesn't even attempt to put the couch in my house. He says "no fit. I go now" I demand that he leave my furniture I paid for with my cash. I did not buy it on credit. Now I have no furniture in my house and three children. Because they can't deliver it until next Wednesday. (Its Wednesday now) even though I was promised that the request would be put in for my delivery to be here tomorrow because of how badly my mother (who was the one here to get the delivery) and me were treated. WORST EXPERIENCE WITH BUYING FURNITURE EVER. ****BUYER BEWARE***** if I could give it zero stars I would.

Goof Proof Insurance Coverage Is a Scam

FREEHOLD, NEW JERSEY -- The coverage one purchases through Bob's is a scam. They will try to disqualify you during your claim call. The company has a number of policies in place to exclude covering your furniture. My claim was declined, regardless that I am within the 5 year protection plan. Why you ask, because I was not 100% sure when the damage occurred. You must report any damage within 30 days or you're out. Irrespective that you are still within your time frame. This pathetic excuse for business sells you the protection plan, knowing that they'll find a way to exclude if the customer ever needs something repaired. Insurance fraud!
