WEST LORNE, ONTARIO, INDIANA -- I paid them for shipping to another address and it was clear what the address was and showed on my order and they sent the order to ME instead of where I asked it to be sent. It was a special 65th Anniversary gift. I emailed to complain and no offer to cover my costs to ship it to where it was to go in first place and no APOLOGY or anything... just total ignoring of the issue.
Last year myself and at least 5 others I know of ordered bulbs from them and not one of us had anything come up and nothing was done about that either. I know that I will NEVER shop from them again and I know my friends have no intention of either. Just really, really poor customer service and I am surprised that they are still in business being so horrible!
EDMONTON -- I reside in Edmonton, AB Canada. I had placed an order with Breck's, based here in Canada. http://www.brecksbulbs.ca, based in West Lorne, Ontario. I had placed an order back on August 30th of 2017. This was for an order of 'ENCHANTED EVENING TM TULIP MIXTURE', plus BRECK'S [R] FOOD FOR BULBS AND PERENNIAL'. These two items did not arrive until earlier this month in October!! And just today, the 3rd item I had ordered on August 30th, a 'Bulb Auger' did not arrive until today, October 24th, 2017.
As I live in the northern region of Alberta, and twice already we have been hit with snow here in Edmonton with many cool and or windy days, naturally occurring low temperatures as you would expect this time of year, receiving my order almost two months later is unacceptable for me. And they did not pack all 3 items in the same box, and I wanted to wait to plant the tulip bulbs until I had received the bulb auger to use to plant them with. Ridiculous.
As a result of my first and only experience ordering with Breck's, I cannot honestly recommend anyone ordering from them. I certainly won't be. Being forced to wait this long for an order that they divided up into two orders that were almost a month apart in arriving is not good customer service.
GUILFORD, INDIANA -- I placed an online order for 4 Hibiscus plants on October 5, 2017. I made sure that everything I ordered was in stock, because these plants are supposed to be planted in the fall and I didn't want to wait for back orders. I was given an estimated delivery date, but every time I checked on the status of my order the date got later and later. It is now into November.
Where I live the temperatures are already fallen into the 30's at night and didn't want to receive these plants too late. I finally called customer service and was told that everything I ordered was back ordered and they had no idea when they were getting replacements. I told them they already took my money and wanted to know why I wasn't informed about this. There wasn't one person that could give me an answer, so I told them to cancel my order and credit my card. I would never do business with this company again.
MAINE -- I ordered Roses from Breck's and none... none of them lived. 5 of 5 died. That's not the bad part. I have emailed numerous times and never received anything except the automated reply saying they received my email and would respond in a timely manner. One month later 3 emails later and there has been no reply good or bad from them.
Lousy customer service.
CINCINNATI, OHIO -- Worse customer service ever. Placed 2 orders with them in the last 2 months. First order they substituted items. Second order they just sent an e-mail stating item not available and they altered the order and refunded the $ amount for the item. Sent an e-mail back telling them to cancel the total order and refund my money and confirm receipt of the request. No response. Called and talked to someone not in the United States. They hung up on me. Called back and finally got someone who could do something. Canceled the order - waiting on my refund. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY - you will be totally disappointed.
This website listed beautiful bulbs, direct from Holland. I ordered over $300 worth of spring Tulip and Daffodil bulbs. After months of waiting, the bulbs are not exacting what I had paid for. Cheaper bulbs of different species were mixed into the bags of top shelf bulbs. Their policy is to replace the bulbs, or give a complete refund, whichever the customer requests. Instead of offering me a refund of two items, they decided to send me a replacement, for next year's planting!
I replied, in email, that expected a refund, immediately. That was met with no response. From my experience, you don't get premium tulip bulbs, and your bulbs arrive mixed with other species of plants that you didn't even order! They don't stand behind their refund policy at all and customer service is a joke!
