Inferior product, poor customer service

I purchased a $300+ pot set thinking it would last me "forever." When I tried to use the larger stock pot, I found out the lid did not fit the pot. I contacted Calphalon and they told me to send the pot back (at my expense) but keep the lid. I explained the problem WAS the lid, but that was all they told me. I asked if I'd be reimbursed for the postage since the product was faulty and was told that I would not be reimbursed.

Basically I now have a pretty useless pot in my set (it would be great for soups or corn on the cob or chili - but not without a lid!)set and would steer anyone that I could away from paying the premium price for a company that doesn't stand behind its product.

I ended up contacting the BBB, but have not heard anything from them (the BBB). All I wanted was a replacement pot and/or lid. All I got was expensive phone bills (I live overseas) and no results.

I have a large set of those pots...and they are the best I've ever had. I've had them for 4 years now and there isn't one scratch mark on them, they look as new as the day I got them. I've recommended these sets to everyone, although the price is higher than others, they are worth the price twice over. They do guarantee their pots, and they told you to send it to them and they would take care of it...I don't know of very many companies that offer to pay for the return postage. I don't see where there is a complaint, there is a problem, they offered to fix it. It's up to you to go through with it or not. If you would rather lose the use of the pot or the price you paid for it, for the simple postage price, that's your choice. If you don't follow through, there's nothing they can due to correct the problem.

Thanks for the review, Debtor. I've been contemplating getting a set for my niece (confirmed bacholerette--everything is mismatched or Dollar Store product!) for Christmas, but don't know anyone who has a set.

Ponie...I highly recommend's worth the money. I can't tell you how many pots and pans I've gone through, throughout the years and after using these everyday for four years they are still in mint condition...

Debtor, that settles it. Peachie gets Calphalon for Christmas. (We have odd names in our family.) Will you split the commission with me? Just kiddin'. :)

She won't be disappointed.

I received a set of the hard anodized cookware for Christmas, as well, a $300.00 set. I feel sucked by Calphalon. EVERYTHING STICKS. It does not matter how long I PRE HEAT the pans, how I hand wash and with what detergent, or how many times I've read the instructions - EVERYTHING STICKS. I may as well throw $300. in the trash. Save your money, gals.

I just bought a pot in the clearance area in Florida outlet on my vacation. When I looked inside the pot (through the clear glass lid that was taped to the pot...probably prevent you from touching the inside), I asked the salesperson if the pot had been used before and he told me that it was dust (around the pot??). I WAS DUMB TO BELIEVE HIM. It had been use problem...then I got more pissed when I used a towel to wrap the pot and found the "black material" on the towel. Instead of throwing the pot, it was put out to sell and slowly killing the sucker who bought it... All sales are comes the trash it is. Can I sue the company?

I got a $300 set of the pots ant pans for Christmas last year. I hate them! Everything sticks in them and they are all scratched up in the inside. I would not recommend them to anyone that ask. I'm going back to T-fal next time around, which will be soon I hope! Oh, I did not use metal utensils in them!!
