Bad Customer Service

Chili's, Harden Blvd (Cobb) Lakeland, FL. My sister who has cancer, my cousin and I went out for a rare evening of enjoyment. I ordered the original nachos but forgot (which is normal because of the worries I have with my sister). I asked if I could get some avocado, he said "No problem" and did not bring it. He came back at this time I had 2 left and my sister mentioned it. He said since I did not order it at the start it was difficult and required extra time to put it on my ticket and get it!

I stated that did not make sense. He gave me an aggravated look, turned and walked away! It got worse from there. I went to have a cigarette and he was talking about me to a waits nodding his head toward me and then I received the look again. This look continued even as I complained to the manager when I left about his attitude.

Needless to say our rare evening out and probably one of my last few with my sister was ruined. All I said was it did not make sense. I would have finished with if this were the case dessert, after dinner coffee or drinks could not be ordered - but with him walking away that was not said. This dinner was in 9/24/11. My sister was also shocked.

Disappointed

CLARK, NEW JERSEY -- I am a regular customer of Chili's and was greatly disappointed last night when my family went out with another family. Not only did we have to wait almost 2 hours, it was close to 9:00 when we got seated. Our kids were getting hungry and restless. When we got our food, our four kids complained that the cheese pizza tasted different. They would know because they always order it. We told a waitress and she told us it was not cheese pizza, it was a pita with provolone on top.

My 7 year old literally threw up at the table. After that we all called it a night. I am very disappointed that OUR waitress didn't tell us anything about the kids' cheese pizza. Between our two families we spent about $130 so I expected good service.

Rushed Server Added 18% Tip

CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE -- Tuesday, April 5th, 2011 around 4 P.M. five friends and I dined at the Chili's in downtown Chattanooga before heading to 6 P.M. meeting. A few open tables were open in the bar area and since we were pressed, time-wise, we chose to sit in the bar instead of a 10-15 minute wait. The server stood by each of us to take our order and none ordered alcohol. When she brought drinks, she sat all 6 drinks at the end of the table and pointed who got which. Silverware was tossed in the middle of the table. When the food arrive, she stood at the end of the table and told who to pass it on to.

Our bills were placed in the middle of the table like the silverware and we had to figure who owed what. Then we discovered the 18% gratuity. I had many pennies in the bottom of my purse which I scratched up to make the exact tip. We were in and out within 45 minutes, which was good, but the server made us feel unwelcome, never smiled or made any comments to welcome us or appreciate the patronage. Does Chili's add 18% to groups of 6 or do they get upset with non drinking people in bar.

Spent $35 for 2 and Still Hungry

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE -- Lately the portions in Chili's have reduced a lot. Me and my wife are not very big eaters, a decent size burger will fill me up and my wife eats about half of what I eat, but our recent visit to Chili's has been disappointing. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees and still somehow we were hungry after we came back come. Our check was for $35 excluding tips. I had to wake up in the middle of the night to fix something to eat. Definitely not value for your money and I would avoid Chili's in future and do not recommend.

Chili's horrible experience

I am a traveler in Florida, a European businessman on vacation/ business, arriving from Europe waiting for a friend to arrive from New York at the Miami International Airport. I decided to catch a World cup game between Brazil and Ivory Coast at the Chili's in MIA (Miami International Airport)... while my friend arrived. I frequently visit this chain restaurant but I was appalled when arriving to this particular one.

Looking at the menu with marked up prices I thought the food must be exceptional as compared to other national Chili franchises. The service was horrible, order was incorrect, total was wrong, the greetings and attitude from the staff inappropriate and being that this is the hub for Latin America I figured it should have a nice modern feel.

The Televisions were extremely outdated I was lucky if the game was in color, including one which was nonfunctional. To say the least I was disappointed with the service and amazed that this is good be one of tourist's first experiences when arriving to the City of Miami. Well the only good thing to come out of this lunch was that the team I was routing for, Brazil won that day. Chili's, never again, in Miami or anywhere else!!

Fed Up

RIO GRANDE CITY, TEXAS -- My friends and I frequent our local Chilis at least once a week (if not more). We have had our problems with service, bad food, etc. But we were really shocked when the manager (the only female) accused us of lying to our waitress about an order that she took. When we called her on it she admitted that we had indeed ordered our drink from her (which she never delivered). She later tried to bill us for 23 shots (outrageous right!) she never delivered.

She said she had served 23 shots and my husband told her she might have served them but had only served us 15! Where did the other 8 shots go - to the guys she was flirting with? What really ticked me off was when a waitress told me later that she said she didn't like me! She is not there to like me instead she is supposed to keep the customers happy, but she certainly is out of place talking about a customer to the staff!

Shrinking Portions

ORMOND BEACH, FLORIDA -- As our custom a friend and myself frequent either Chili's or Cracker Barrel before we go to the movies. We have been doing this for years. Jan 10, 2010 we went to Cracker Barrel and it was so packed there were no parking spots in the lot. We decided to go back to Chili's and the parking lot was almost empty, great! Yeah, right. We ordered the south western cobb salad as we have been doing for quite some time.

When they came out I asked the waiter why they appeared to be smaller. He said "They were being served on 11" plates instead of 12". The plate was shallower also. There was very little lettuce, and the amount of garnishes (bacon, egg, cheese, etc) was much smaller. The fried chicken breast seemed to be the same as always. The manager offered to bring us more of anything we wanted when I complained to her.

I asked her why the price did not reflect the smaller portions, she said "they" thought the salad was too large because some people could not eat the whole thing and they were throwing too much salad away?!?! I, myself and my friend were not in this category, and what difference does it make if people do not eat what they pay for. I have never heard anybody complain about getting too much food for their money.

Slow & Bad Service

TAMPA, FLORIDA -- My wife and I went to the Chili's in New Tampa Sunday night at around 7pm. After waiting 20 minutes for a table for 2, we see tons of empty tables in the place and wonder why we had to wait. Then our server was just slow with service and ignored us. Brought desert out and never cleared the dinner plates off the table. Then when it came time for the check, she would walk right passed it with the C.C. sticking out of it and this is 5-10 minutes after 'been sitting there. Then 10 more minutes pass by and a new waitress comes over and cashes us out.

Our whole visit was dragged out, slow and not very well taken care of. You'd think with all the complaining these food joints are making about hard economic times, they'd take care of the customers they do get. But no. Visits like this really make me mad because they think people's time grows on trees. Makes me wish I had done fast food and saved a lot of money or just cooked at home. Not worth the time & money for a visit like that.

Quality Of Food I Received

ALAMOGORDO, NEW MEXICO -- Last night (7/1/09) my wife and I went to the Chili's here in Alamogordo, N.M. to eat dinner. She ordered the chicken crispers and was very satisfied with it. I ordered the half rack of ribs with black beans. It was only 5 small ribs (when I cut them apart) and a VERY small bowl of black beans. It cost about $10.00 and could barely fill up a small child! What a "rip-off!" I want to tell everyone to NOT order the half rack of ribs if you are very hungry. They could have at least gave me some salad or fries with the meal.

Systemic Sucky Service

CARSON CITY, NEVADA -- I had one good take out experience, so I went back. I guess the first time was a fluke. I called ahead, but the take out clerk was too eager to get back to the back room gab fest to put in my order before I got there. Then my order was done and it just sat around until it got cold. 1/2 hour after arriving at the time I was told, I got my order only to get back home and find it totally cold 5 minutes later. The workers were clueless, the manager was clueless. Nobody would fess up to knowing anything. Well, as I told the manager, at least I'll NEVER have to worry about any Chili's poor service ever again.
