COLUMBUS, OHIO -- Visiting Church's Chicken on Main Street close to downtown Columbus, Ohio makes me feel like I'm collecting evidence to write a horror book. I don't visit often, but when I do I feel as if I am adding information to my book. This time, I ordered a 9 pc special (just chicken). I was told it comes with 3 white PCS and the rest dark. I asked for 3 wings and the rest legs. I wasn't told I would be waiting 7 minutes for my order, someone put the chicken on the wrong timer.

When I got home I had 2 breast, 1 wing, and 6 legs. We started eating, put the hot sauce all over my breast. First I tasted the hot sauce as I continue to eat my mouth was filled with a burnt taste. I turned on the big light and looked at the chicken it was burnt. By then 4 PCS was ate by my family.

I called and person whom answered the phone did not introduce themselves. I told her my dilemma. She said, "Bring the chicken back." I stated "I was not coming back tonight." She said, "If you do make sure you have a receipt." What happened to "I apologize", she made me feel as if I stole some burnt chicken and that it was my fault.

I was inconvenienced, we could not eat the chicken, and I really do not understand why this location is still open. The people whom are called managers has poor skills, slow, it is OK to be slow if you're getting the orders right. The rating for the service was hard because I could not find what comes before the star. They do not deserve 1 star.

MORENO VALLEY, CALIFORNIA -- On September 05, 2013, I went inside the Church's Chicken in Moreno Valley at about 6:14pm. I ordered my chicken, the cashier said the wait time was 15 minutes for the chicken. I went to the restroom. When I was coming out, the rude employee opened the kitchen door hard and hurt me on my left arm. She said "I'm sorry", I left for home. I woke up in the morning with pain in my arm. I been calling the restaurant to report this incident with no answer. September 6, 2013 and my arm is swollen and I don't have medical insurance.

Food Was Gross, but Service Was Great!

FARMINGTON, NEW MEXICO -- Today for lunch, I decided to drive-through Church's Chicken, since it was close to another appointment I had scheduled. I return to work with my lunch, and after opening the bag, the lettuce on my chicken sandwich had a brownish tint to it, and the mayo tasted rancid. I also ordered a 5-piece boneless honey BBQ, but wasn't given any napkins or even a fork to eat it with. I scrounged around the employee break room back at work, and eventually found a fork. The boneless chicken tasted great!

So, for those of you keeping score, we have great tasting boneless chicken vs. brown lettuce, rancid mayo, no napkins, and no fork. The scales seemed to be tipping in favor of an all out verbal assault or irate online review. However, there was something during my visit that trumped these miscues. And that was good ol' fashioned customer service with a smile.

From the time I ordered, to the time I pulled away and into the street. They greeted as friendly as one possibly could, just short of coming outside and hugging me. The food was served promptly, and I saw nothing but smiles on the faces of the drive-through workers and a sincere thank you as they handed the food out the window.

If I was on the Undercover Boss show, I would've definitely rewarded that crew for their excellent customer service. Even though the order was less than satisfactory, the great attitude they displayed will have me coming back to give them a second chance.

Rude Employees, Bad Service

TEMPLE, TEXAS -- I went to Church's at about 6:10 p.m. CST. I walk in and there were about 4 to 5 customers in line in front of me and about 4 or 5 cars in drive up window. The employee at the window told the person at drive up window that they were out chicken and they drove off mad as hell. I ask him "how long before the chicken is ready." No answer. I ask again thinking he didn't hear me. Still no answer. So I ask again a little louder. Still no answer - just a blank stare from dumb and dumber.

Some of the customer in front of me didn't get any answer either and walk out just like I did. I been a Church's customer for over 50 yrs. and never been treated as bad as I have been today. If this is the type of operations you're going to run then you might as well declare chapter 13 and close the whole chain down before you drown in your own dirty grease.

Old Grease

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- To whom it may concern: I go to the Church's Chicken on 79th and Damen. And every time I go I get my food and it's burned. And I ask can they cook me some more, they say no. And the reason why it is burned is because it is old grease. Why do they use old grease? Would you like to eat burned chicken? I know that you wouldn't so why do you sell it to the people who come there.

And I also go to the one on 69th Western and the chicken there stinks. I don't understand why you all sell that kind of food to people. And also why they put it in a bag, why not still the box because the bag is not good. I work at a hospital and that is not good to put in a bag. I hope that you all do something about this. Thank you.

Bloody Chicken

DALLAS, TEXAS -- I enter Church's Chicken at the cross road at loop 12. I purchased two 2 piece orders of spicy chicken, with 2 biscuits and a medium drink. I paid for my order and left. As I drove off I bit into a chicken leg, and to my surprise it was bloody on the inside. I returned to the Church's and asked the lady for a refund on my purchase due to the chicken being undercooked. There was no manager in the store, the employer said "I cannot refund your money, my register will come up short."

I wrote on the back of my receipt my name and phone number and explained that the chicken was bloody and had the employer to sign the receipt. She told me the manager would be back, she had to call him. I returned at 4pm, she stated that another customer came in with a 10 piece and her chicken was bloody. She also told me that the manager came in and he said he would be back. It has been 2 days and the manager has not contacted me. I feel as though if they cannot cook the chicken properly, they should obtain better management. I still have not received my refund.

How Legal Is This
By -

TRINITY, TEXAS -- My son has an opportunity but needs a legal document from the company that he is not working there anymore. The manager refuses to sign such government document and now my son may miss out on this benefit which would help him and his family. The human resources of the corporate office will fax to the institution but can't get to it to the end of the week, but the problem is it is needed much sooner like yesterday instead of tomorrow.

The woman at the center did not realize that he needed this till today but since there is a deadline there is not much more she can do and the manager refuses to sign and the managers headquarters says they can't get to it till the end of the week. What problems is there in a manager signing that an employee no longer works there. This is not for unemployment benefits, this is a document that has no ramifications for the business, but would open up a opportunity for my son which now he will probably not be able to receive. Signed just a sad mom.

Poor Customer Service and Nasty Hot Restaurant
By -

Went to a restaurant in Anderson South Carolina called Church's Chicken on Shockley Ferry Road. When we walked in, we were left standing with another staffs back turned who never acknowledged us for about a good fifth-teen minutes. No-one would take our order and when they did we waited for another thirty minutes before we got two sandwiches and a two piece meal. The shift manager waited on us didn't offer us anything for our wait or say she was sorry. She just gave us our food like nothing was wrong. One staff stood there and ate food. The appearance of the place was nasty and the grease the food was cooked in hadn't been changed.

Poor Service/Poor Quality
By -

On Sunday July 10, 2011 I pulled in the Church's Chicken drive through. After being in line for about 5 minutes, the car in front of me pulled off. Next, I continued to wait for approximately another 5-8 minutes when I was then asked to come inside. Upon entering, I was asked if I had placed my order and I then stated that I had been in line in the drive through. All I got was a quick "sorry for the wait." There was a mix up on getting a larger size and pricing. My strawberry lemonade drink had not 1 drop of ice in it, and there was a mix up on the size of the large.

The cashier stated that she had been out for 2 weeks and had just come back and was new to the new sizing. There was no customer service, or courtesy offered for all of the inconsistencies and inconveniences. I have never been so shocked as well as ill treated. I frequent the chain at least 1-2 times weekly. The store located in Greensboro, NC on Randleman Rd. is great and this store definitely needs to take some lessons from them.

Store Manager Not Helping to Get the Line Down
By -

JONESBORO, GEORGIA -- I was in line in the lobby. It was a long line and it was only one person on front counter. It's my neighborhood store so I know who the manager is. She is always outside smoking. The line was long because the cook wasn't told to drop any more chicken because the store manager was outside. Then as I'm in line, she comes in yelling cause there wasn't any chicken and people had to wait for it to be cooked.

So that tells you about how long store manager was outside then when she comes in, I never saw her wash her hands. She constantly coughs and don't even cover her mouth. I guess she feels she don't have to because she is the store manager. While you're in line for so long, you tend to notice things that you wouldn't normally notice.
