RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA -- In North Carolina there are over 700 open and active investigations at the consumer affairs protection division of the NC Attorney General Office. They cut credit lines on people even though their credit report and debt load has not changed and customers have never miss a payment.

Avoid this company, when I ask for a written explanation I got a false form letter. They are just as bad as the Discover Card. I was able to pay off one account the day I got the email. My second account had a zero balance. I was sent over to customer retention where they offered to raise the limit on the zero balance card and reinstate the former line of credit. So how did I go to not worth to more than worthy? I closed both accounts, I hope this company gets investigated by the Federal Government.

SOUTH DAKOTA -- Awful - I switched to a new bank and as a result had a snafu with my automatic payments. I made a payment through the online system, online system shows it as paid but started getting a number of phone calls and five separate letters within a two week span over Christmas 2011. Made another payment online once I figured out from multiple calls to their customer service center that the payment had actually not gone through, and that something is wrong with the website's processing of the payments. I made a new payment shortly thereafter including late fees (which, by the way, are not separately disclosed within the payment), and now I'm getting text messages from Citibank. I verified with the customer sales representative that prior to this incident I had not been late in the three years since I've held these loans. If I had a choice I'd quickly switch to another lender. Citibank Student Loans are terrible.1 Replies - Latest reply on 01/07/2012Add reply

Be careful in using Mastercard for paying your foreign currency transaction, because you don't have idea how much they will charge you in your country rate. I have charge about Rp 8,995 per SGD 1. I have never known that SGD will be so high. In my experience the exchange rate always Rp 7,000 something. I did 2 transaction in same time, for 1 transaction was using right rate (about Rp 7,138) but the other with Rp 8,995. How come the rate fluctuated about Rp 2,000 in a few minutes. I called Citibank but I didn't satisfy with they answer. They said I can't complain about the exchange rate, I have to just received whatever they charge. So with the experience, I think I will never use Mastercard again for all my foreign exchange transaction.

The Citibank credit card statements do not show where all of my payment is applied. It shows interest only and I don't feel it is my job to keep the last statement, do some calculations and try and figure it out (it never computes anyway). For such a large bank shouldn't they have a concise clear statement that accounts for each penny I send them? 1 Replies - Latest reply on 06/28/2010Add reply
They messed up my bank account 2 times. Now, I am the one receiving 3 phone calls a day because I told them I wouldn't pay anything else until they fix my account. They will not send anymore money and each time I have tried to resolve the problem they "lecture me on my poor behavior." I have never been late or missed any payments until this event!
