BALITMOE, MAINE -- I would watch out. The reviews that are good ones about Clear Internet may be written by Clear employees..............

If so, it wouldn't be the first time a public consumer site had this happen.

Internet connections

Never use Clear. I have lost the internet connection so many times since 5/27/10 it's not fun anymore to use Clear. They just don't know how to fix the problem.

Knowing where this is happening would go a long way in adding value to this review.

Expensive, poor quality and un-caring
Posted by on
They promised it would be great.. So we started our business trusting them.
As we went on, the phones wouldn't work, we had interruptions and slow downs. when due to a change in credit card information the bill was late we had to fight to get back on the internet.
All they had to say was "To bad"
Try to find an alternative. At this point dail-up would be a better choice.

You're not alone in your disappointment with Clear's service. There are numerous complaints about them here and on other sites. Take a moment to make an official complaint at http://www.reboot.fcc.gov/consumers

Awful customer service/sales
Posted by on
I called in to check the coverage in my area and also the rates for home and on the go internet coverage. I don't remember the sales person's name, but he was extremely slow and rude and kept pushing me to purchase built-in laptop with internet, which is a complete useless rubbish to me. When I told him I wasn't going to purchase today and was shopping around for rates, he just hung up on me. So your loss CLEAR, because you employ witless rude pushy salesmen, who just cost you a potential customer. Just imagine, if the salesmen are like this, how the customer service would be? Not very pleasant or helpful, I'm sure!

Stay Away From Clear
Posted by on
IDAHO -- I have been a Clear aka Clearwire customer for 4 years. The service used to be good before they made the switch to the new WiMax service. I am paying for 5 Mbs service and only receive a small fraction of that. I contacted customer service to address this issue, and they are very friendly, but cannot seem to fix the problem and so far have refused to credit my account. I am in the process of finding a new ISP in the area. I would highly recommend that anyone considering the Clear service, look at other providers. Take it from someone who has already given them money and is not satisfied with the service. STAY AWAY FROM CLEAR!!!

I completely agree with this custome... Stay awa from CLEAR!!! I have been a customer for over 4years- ONLY because I live in an area where internet service is hard to find. They were never good, but have gotten progressively worse. You only actually get high-speed internet for a total of about 2 hours a day. We are constantly having to re-set the modem. And there are multiple times throughout the day when we know it is going to give us problems. It is truly a headache and I would not suggest their service to anyone :(

Bad Management Team
Posted by on
This is my opinion.
The Good:
The Executive Team is strong. The product 4G, is going be the first wireless 4G network available in SOME cities.
The Bad:
Bad Customer service. Poor Quality for the first few years. The launch of this company has been rapid. As a result, customer service is going to be similar to that of Sprint when they started. Sprint, incidentally, is a partner of Clear. This new technology will take some time to iron the bugs out. As a result, another company with larger infrastructure and better technology will eventually acquire Clear. As for the customers, well who cares...

Clear will be using a newer technology called WiMAX. This is a fast wireless service with a transmission tower that can send data to receiving antennas to a maximum distance of about 35 miles. I would not yet sign up for this as the wireless technology isn't proven to be reliable yet.

Clear Service is unreliable and the company does not stand behind their service
Posted by on
This was the worst service I ever had. I lost my phone connections multiple times mid conversation. The internet service went out all the time. I also could not use my phone and wireless at the same time. The phone caused my internet service to stop. When I cancelled and request a refund for the service since it was not reliable, they informed me that they do not provide refunds. I would recommend everyone stay away from this unreliable company.
