Steer Clear of Clearwire
HOLY COW. Worst experience I have ever had with a company this big.
My first couple months with Clear Home Internet were great. I was getting anywhere between 8 and 14 mbps down and 1 mbps up. About ... read full review2 Replies - Latest reply on 07/25/2012
I received a new phone number in January of this year. Clearwire has called me anywhere from 10-15 times a day since I got this number. The problem is.. I am not the person they are trying to reach, I do not now nor have I ever had an account with them. If I "ignore" the call they will call me right back. I have explained to them numerous times that I am not who they are trying to reach, but the calls continue. Now I am reduced to getting another number. Frankly, Clearwire should not do business in any community.1 Replies - Latest reply on 09/03/2011Add reply
Clearwire service is sorry. Period! I pay for premium service (2.0m download) and I am lucky to get, 03 mbps at anytime of the day. My old "dial up" was faster.

Not for general usage

Horrible Customer Service
I have been trying to cancel my Clear account for four business days. I called customer Service (888-888-3113) they informed me that they have to transfer me to the cancellation dept. I held for 30 minutes ... read full review
I had Clearwire internet for 2, 5 years. Ever since we moved to another location our modem was showing 4 (out of 5) bars but internet speed was not faster than dial-up. My 2 yr contract expired and I was on month-to-month basis. One month ago (March) my credit card expired and I activated new one. On that exact day they stopped my service even though there was no balance due. Internet never worked ever since. One month later they call me and say that I owe them for that month and they deny any service interruptions that month.

(exact same day, what a coincidence) Now someone calls me 5 times a day and leaves blank message and when I finally talked to them representative and then supervisor agreed to contact me via mail only but still calling 5 times a day. They failed to provide promised high speed internet, they failed their terms and conditions by interrupting my service while it was paid, they demand payment for service that the have not provided.

I got wifi from Clearwire like 2 days ago and if you play Xbox 360 on live this is the biggest mistake you can ever make because just today in the span of 30 minutes the connection signed me out of live 4 times.
I got fed up and just stopped trying after the first two tries to better my connection.
I WANT MY $ BACK!
I started clear service but decided to go with a different internet provider. I called to cancel my service on 1-24-11 & was told that even though I paid in cash, it would be refunded to the credit card ... read full review
Do not get Clearwire. The service SUCKS!!!! The only way I got a signal is walking outside and standing in the middle of the street. The salesmen showed me a map with a tower within 500 feet of my address. I immediately called customer service to get a refund and after 2 weeks, I haven't gotten anywhere with them. I now have Virgin wireless and it is GREAT! 2 Replies - Latest reply on 02/09/2011Add reply
Automatic debit for billing sucks. First, you have to spend time to login to their site to see your statements (cannot be emailed to you). Second, you have to spend your time to reverse erroneous charges. I've been billed too much and it's already debited, before I have a chance to discuss it with them! They will "look into it". Whatever that means. Add reply

Responding to postings in laundromats is generally not a wise thing to do, but I did it anyway.
Right up there next to "make wheelbarrows full of money from your own home!" was a flier
from a Clear representative, and I went for it.
Even though I am right next to a tower and have good speeds there are serious problems.
1) They never told me they use electronic billing only.
2)When I sign in for mail using Safari I get the "certificate for the website is invalid" message.
(Not to point a finger but I had 2 attempts to use my credit card recently and had to order
a new card.)
3)Their technical support is only available during working hours.
4)The service has to be re-connected to my Linksys router frequently in order to get
