I purchased the free trial offer for a shipping and handling fee. I was told that I could cancel the order if not happy with the product, I tried to contact the company but their website no longer exist, and no one can be reached at their phone number. Without being able to cancel my credit card will be charged on the next monthly shipment for the full price automatically. My credit card company can't do anything until I am billed, then I will have to dispute it, which they are telling me could happen month after month. So beware this is a scam!

Colonmate is a rear end cleaner. It's a scam that has been around for years that people still fall for. They take the free sample but find out there is no way to cancel or return it then they are put on an autoship program. If they had read the terms they would have seen very small print saying they agreed to the autoship. So Colonmate can win a CC dispute by showing proof the person agreed to it.

The only way to beat them is to close the account and get a new CC number as they will never stop dinging your card. Colonmate likes bank account debits as they never have to worry about charge backs. Many people have had to close their bank account to keep Colonmate from debiting it.

superbowl: I agree that the only way the poster is going to stop the charges is to contact their credit card company, cancel their current account number and get a new one. On a side note: I wish people would stop falling for these free trial offers and not thinking before they give some telemarketer their credit card number - - or worse - - their checking account number. Common sense says that they are not really going to give out something for free yet people are still shocked that they were scammed.

A Fleet enema would have been a lot cheaper.

GRANITE BAY, CALIFORNIA -- I recently purchased via the net Colonmate to try. I have been trying to contact this company to cancel any future shipments before my 14 day deadline so my credit card will not be charged $78.98. Cannot contact via email ( which they say to email, or the phone 1-866-440-7533.

If I have to cancel my credit card I will just to stop them from charging my account..

Cancel your credit card, now, or contact them to stop the payment. This company WILL continue to charge you.

You do NOT need this product.
Principissa on 02/05/2008:
Agree with Leela. Cancel that card NOW! They will make it heck to cancel that auto-ship. If you truly want to cleanse, go to your doctor.

That's the game. They won't let you cancel during 14 days. Then when you chagreback they win because they prove you did not cancel during the 14 day cancel period. They also show you agreed to the autoship program. It's criminal the way they do it. It's junk anyway, $5 worth of herbs and junk.

Agree with all the rest hurry don't let them steal your money anymore! Good luck

Well this can't be good:

This website has been disabled:

If you do receive additional bottles, I would suggest to return the unused bottles certified return receipt with a letter requesting that you are cancelling the auto shipment. Notify your credit card company immediately that you did not authorize any further charges and provide them a copy of your cancellation notice with certified receipt copy.

I would not cancel my credit card over a scam like this. Opening and closing accounts too frequently can adversely affect your credit rating. Collect proof that you made several attempts to cancel future shipments (write down dates, phone numbers, website addresses, responses, lack of responses, etc. Call your credit card company and let them know what is going on and tell them if you receive unwanted shipments you will refuse them (give back to delivery person) and if charges show up on your card you will dispute. Then follow through.
GothicSmurf on 02/07/2008:
Noneill- I don't own a CC so I could be off, but if you suspect fraud can't/won't the bank issue you a new card with a new number on it upon request? That is what I was suggesting.
