I had made reservations on line. I had asked for 2 things be added to our room. Well at check in guess what? We didn't have anything I ask for. When we called front desk the manager on duty was really rude that whole night. If we could have got a refund we would have left that night. We will never stay there again. Add reply
SANANTONIO, TEXAS -- I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in San Antonio on Loop 410 the last two days. They did not clean my room. When I called to complain, I spoke to a rude lady who identified herself as the "operations manager" who told me off. She commented that they did not have enough cleaning people because the hotel was full. Funny, for the last 25 years, Marriott has been my hotel of choice. They did not try to do anything for me or even seem contrite. Very course treatment for a previously loyal customer. This was way out of the ordinary for this company, and totally unforgivable. 2 Replies - Latest reply on 07/29/2010Add reply

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- I am a Marriott Rewards Gold member with over 70 nights stayed so far in 2009. I made a hotel reservation to spend 2 nights ( 17 July-18 July, 2009) at the Courtyard Hotel using the Marriott Reservation line. I found a certificate at the Marriott Gold Member website for a “Treat Yourself to a weekend Escape and a free 2nd night”. I confirmed with the reservation person that this was valid for my stay and he did. He said I just needed to print out the webpage and give it to the desk at check-in. At check-in I presented the certificate to the front desk. They called the “Marriott Rewards Hotel Resource Desk” and confirmed it was valid and would be honored. I spent the 2 nights at this hotel and just hours before my check-out I received a phone call from the desk telling me they made a mistake and the certificate was not going to be honored and I was going to be charged for the 2nd night. If I would have been told this at the time I made the reservation, or at check-in time, I would have made other arrangements. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and am waiting to hear back from them. They can not get away with this, can they?

WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA -- While staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in West Palm Beach Florida. I was awakened by a call that said a dog was in the hall seen coming out of my room. After the staff then searched my room and no dog was found I assumed they found it elsewhere. On checking out several days later there was a charge for a pet and a pet cleaning charge for $125. What a total rip off for something that never occurred and apparently no recourse other then tell the world that the Courtyard by Marriott will steal from you without any supporting evidence. Other than the mistaken eyes of hotel staff.

I have never seen two people treated as bad as this young man and his wife were at the Courtyard in Birmingham AL. He was suffering from cancer and was there for treatment at UAB. From check in time until check out it was a nightmare for this couple. From a mix-up with their reservation to someone else walking in on them while in bed because they had also rented the room.

There is much more to this story to tell about how they were treated, and what was done about it. The young man has since passed away, I know this is true because I am his father.
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- The TV internet didn't work properly and the keyboard kept sticking. The patio window was left open when I returned from shopping, what if someone had pinched something from the room like my purse or laptop computer. When you complained they didn't seem bothered. It's not 24 hour internet access, you can only have 30 minutes on the computer then you're told to get off. The staff say you lie when you're not. The front desk uses the computer for mis_use (porn sites) Watch your credit cards, they will charge you double. The trash wasn't taken away. The hotel is on a main busy road, so it's very noisey. The water tastes horrible. You can't get a soda unless you pay by credit card. They damaged my laptop computer by dropping it. The staff can't speak english, they all say what? when you ask them something. Nice!

The toilet didn't flush and it kept blocking.
The staff on the front desk kept talking about the guests. I had to keep ringing them up to get my room cleaned.
There was no pool and restaurants around.
The breakfast was horrible.
