I was paying too much at Verizon and looked at Cricket. I read all of the negative comments and saw that most were customer service complaints. I took a chance, ordered two phones and received two phones in two days. I activated the phones on my own and tried them first before porting. They worked the same as Verizon!! No dropped calls, no missed texts, and I'm paying $80.00 for two versus 191.00 with Verizon. I ported the numbers BUT called the porting department directly as another writer said and guess what? No problems, both ported within the estimated 3 hour time limit given. Phones have been working just the same as Verizon, but without the price. Now the bad-if I choose to cancel because of poor reception or whatever-I can cancel at any time-NO CONTRACT!! I'm in. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 03/16/2011Add reply
People need to file complaints with their respective State Attorney General's offices against wireless companies who do not perform "specifically" as advertised or overcharge for services--

Don't ever stop---flood the AG's offices with paper--if the pile gets high enough--they'll put the brakes on scammers---
Verizon got tossed out of several states and can no longer operate in many states !!!
Verizon was/is not too big and Cricket is NOT too complicated to be stopped dead in their tracks by enough complaints to the AG's offices
Cricket has the worst service I've ever had in a cell phone. I've only had it for a month and everyone I call complains, they can hardly hear me ever no matter where I am. I canceling and getting a new provider. Add reply

Cricket, you really need to treat your customers better:(
Cricket wireless claims you get your broadband modem for free... that's a lie!! I sent my rebate in 6 months ago and still have yet to receive it!! There customer service sucks, and it takes for ever to speak to a real person-and 99% of the time your not speaking to an English speaking person...

I am so done with Cricket its very frustrating to have to wait that long for a rebate!!
Do not be misled by the hype. This was the worst experience ever. Found out you cannot cancel an order even if the phone is not in stock. Had to wait for the phone to become available, have it shipped, refuse delivery and then wait 30 days for money to be credited back to my account. You will do better paying a little more for service and getting what you want. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 10/08/2010Add reply

It is a scam. They take money and never return to you. For everything they ask for upgradation even if your current plan has those features they won't give you. They try to rob you. and worst of all is REBATE, They never give you your money back. Network is worst of all, It doesn't work anywhere not at my home not at my office. Worst Customer service. Plans are cheap but not worth it just wasting money. Add reply
Well, if you are thinking about using Crooked for your international long distance calls to Mexico, beware: They don't tell you it doesn't work in all areas and sometimes doesn't even work where is supposed to. Let me explain:

My friend has Crooked service since last year and let's me borrow his phone to call Mexico. The quality isn't great but it worked so I decided to get my own number with Crooked. Surprise! It sez I have to buy time! I called their customer disservice 7 times and the first two representatives told me my area is included; all I needed was to reprogram my phone. Never got it to work and three times they hanged up on me! talk about bad service in every aspect. The last two times I called was to cancel my service but but never got to talk to anybody. On top of that you get a lot of dropped calls.
Stay away from Crooked. You get what you pay for and sometimes not even that.
Cricket was the new provider in town, and seemed to have it all, low rates, good coverage, decent phones...but the phone never seemed to have coverage. Roaming wasn't included in the $50 per month charges, so all my calls would go to voicemail. When I tried dialing, I would be roaming and they would want to charge me 39 cents per minute to make the call. Then their 2 month old phone a Samsung Messenger II broke and I had enough.
But to cancel I had to speak to 4 people who spoke broken English two of which were trying to keep me as a customer. They also went ahead and billed me for the next month and told me they could not refund that amount, but finally relented after taking all the information they already had and making me FAX them the information besides.
I have had phones turn obsolete before they broke with other services, and with Cricket there was no service any of the time. I am surprised it took me so long to cancel.
Cricket phones are worthless!! I purchased a phone, less than a month the speaker went out and it wouldn't even ring! when I returned it they charged $15 to tranfer, then didn't have the phone I originally bought, so they replaced it with another "temporary" phone until it was in stock later that week. When I returned for the phone they told me they couldn't exchange it for that phone because I already accepted this one. also called me a liar for telling them they told me they would replace it later, they just wanted me out of the store because they were busy with other customers who also had problems with their phones-customer service is horrible-they just transfer you to someone else then someone else until you eventually get hung up on or your p. o.s. phone drops the call!
