MAPLEWOOD, MINNESOTA -- We paid for a room and when first opened door to room I sat on I think it was a chair waiting for my husband to park the car, up in the corner of room was a HUGE cob web (really!!! No way this could have been missed ) the carpet was stained and black, sticky. I could not set my bags down for fear what I might find in them when I left, I never made it to look at the beds how ever I knew I would not be sleeping in them . and the picture on the wall had no glass in it . .it had been busted out and put back on the wall! When my husband came in we went to front desk let them know how very NASTY and uncaring their place had become since it was sold to them . I was a housekeeper at that very place and I can't understand what in the world how the Days Inn even allows these places to represent them ! That was a 5 star hotel we cared how people thought and felt . What are they paying their housekeepers and staff because it is not worth min wage . And the one thing good we left with. .. .. . OUR MONEY!Add reply
NEWBERRY, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I asked for a wake up call at 6:30 am. I happened to wake up on my on before then. I left the room at 7:05 am and had never got a wake up call. Later that night when I got back in, I got online and was watching a movie on Netflix. When the internet suddenly went out I called to ask them to reboot. The thing was I had no dial tone on my room phone. I checked the plugs on both ends and that didn't help. I found a phone book and called the lobby with my cellphone. I asked the lady at the desk to reboot the internet and oh, by the way, I see why I didn't get my wakeup call because my phone don't work. She started out saying I was talking to her so it did work but I was on my cellphone. She kept telling me about the printout she had that said I did get the wake up call. I wasn't really worried about a wakeup call at that point, I just wanted my wifi back on. Any way, she kept telling me I was wrong, which is in effect, telling me I was lying about the wakeup call, and at some point I let slip a cuss word. I don't like being called a liar. After that I asked to speak to the manager and she had no interest in anything I had to say. She gave me a Jesus speech. I wasn't upset about the missed wakeup call until that lady insisted I was lying.Add reply

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA, PENNSYLVANIA -- Went to East Stroudsburg, PA for my uncle's memorial service. Was very unsure about the area so thought I would go with a Days Inn, for lodging, since it seemed like a reputable name. Couldn't have been more wrong. Upon check-in there were people asleep in the lobby and when we were directed to our room we had to step over individuals who were drinking and sitting in front our door. Not to mention the cat calls we got while walking to our room from the parking lot. Would have been able to stomach the bad decor and cheap furnishing if it weren't for the terrible smell. Like hundreds of cigarettes were recently smoked in this non-smoking room, as well as a dorm like smell of stale beer and vomit. We immediately checked out and rerouted to a much nicer hotel just down the street, the Staybridge Suites. We immediately took a shower, changed our clothes and returned to the Days Inn to give back the keys and explain that we weren't staying the evening. Once we returned home I called the Days Inn to complain and get some kind of retribution. Received nothing but sarcasm and a level of unprofessional ism I didn't think would or could exist in a company such as Days Inn. Truly the worst hotel chain ever, and would not recommend it to anyone!Add reply

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE -- Me, my sister and Niece went to Nashville this year, had the best time ever !! We stayed in a Days Inn that was beyond horrible ( I dreaded having to go back at night ) . There was duct tape in the bathtub, rust under the toilet and mold behind the bathroom door . This piece of [snip]room cost us 810.00 for 5 night stay. We were quoted one price and they added tons of extra fees. It should have cost us 550.00.
What the hell are you to do when you drive into Nashville for the CMA and you have the worst most horrible room :( I hope someone from Days Inn contacts me because if I'm not helped in this matter, I'm sending this letter to all newspapers in the Nashville area and Toronto star and Toronto sun paper!!

This hotel is in desperate need of upgrading. Dirty, halls smell, fans in the bathroom don't work. Cleaning people knocking on your door first thing in the morning asking for your dirty towels!! And there is a no cancellation policy that nobody tells you about. You have to read it on the confirmation.
Don' stay here. Plenty of other choices.
MARION, NORTH CAROLINA -- Two girlfriends and myself spent 4 nights at this Days Inn & I do NOT recommend it at all. The room was comfortable enough but the manager was very RUDE and Disrespectful to all 3 of us ladies. Due to the fact that we were staying multiple nights we put out the Do Not Disturb placard to let them know that they did not need to clean the room, but when we asked for clean towels after we had used them 2x each the manager was very rude & did not want to give us clean towels because we didn't let them clean the room.
We took care of our own trash but we had to provide our own trash bags (again because we didn't want the room cleaned they wouldn't give use any trash bags), we had to beg to get a couple of extra packets of coffee which he did give to us but very begrudgedly. The same went for the towels, we did get them but he had a fit that about it because we didn't want the room cleaned.
The Manager was just the most RUDE & Disrespectful person I have ever met & I will NEVER stay at any Days Inn or any of its affiliates ever again because of this one experience.
FANCY GAP, VIRGINIA -- It was late I was tired & decided it couldn't be too bad. I have avoided Days Inn for years but decided to give them another chance. BIG MISTAKE!

Their rate was very high for what they offered. I made the mistake of thinking with the rate I paid that a microwave, Ref & TV would be included. However there was no TV or Ref and the only TV was a few channels not the selection with even basic service. After unloading all the bags for a nights stay, I discovered the missing items. I was told that the TV problem was posted but why did the desk clerk not mention the fact to make sure I did see the notice and understood the situation. The room was a second rate room for first class prices. Conclusion, stay with my opinion of Days Inn & pass it by for a more reputable chain.

LEWISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA -- Days Inn is really going down hill. Air Conditioner broken and had to change rooms. New room had no refrigerator, was not clean and smelled bad. Lighting extremely low - to see well, towels and wash cloths so cheap and thin that you can see through them, when wet. Everything thing in the room is old and tired and or falling apart. Ice machine no longer available. Overall, very unpleasant and unsatisfactory and had to pay for that to boot! Everything seems so cheap and low budget now. I have stayed there several times in the past and choose to do so mainly because they are pet friendly. However, I feel that reason isn't enough justification for future stays.2 Replies - Latest reply on 06/27/2012Add reply
NEWPORT, TENNESSEE -- The bathroom should have been condemned. The mold was so bad that the ceiling and walls looked like they were ready to cave. Apparently the housekeeping staff doesn't believe in vacuuming under furniture! Dust bunnies wasn't the word I would describe what was under the beds! The A/C unit was spurting out mold spores. Got so sick had to leave and go back home the next day. I left the room after 5 hours and stayed at the Best Western across the street but by that time I was so sick I had to cancel my vacation plans and go home! Never again would I stay at a Day's Inn. I'm plannning on calling corporate and the board of health in Tenn.!3 Replies - Latest reply on 06/20/2012Add reply
NEWPORT, TEXAS -- Stayed at Days Inn in Newport, TN (1014 Cosby Highway). The bathroom was so moldy that the ceiling and walls looked like they were ready to cave in. Stayed for about 5 hours. Got sick as a dog from the mold and it completely ruined my vacation. Ended up in the Best Western Hotel right across the street which was gorgeous but since I got sick at the Days Inn had to go back home. So much for a nice vacation! Never will I stay at a Days Inn again! I'm planning to call corporate and the board of health to file a complaint!1 Replies - Latest reply on 06/20/2012Add reply
