I had a few buddies come over the other day to watch the game. I usually bring out the chips and salsa when they come over. I picked up a bag of ruffles and tortilla chips. I wanted to try a different dip this time around. I made my way over to the dairy aisle to pick up something. And I noticed Deans sold a few varieties of dips. I decided to pick up a french onion dip for the ruffles, and they also had a Guac dip that I picked up for the tortilla chips. Let me tell you these dips were delicious especially the french onion one. They go great with ruffles. And the Guac dip was equally good. I'll pick these up again next time I have company over.
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- I've spend a few DAYS tracking down IMO. Finally, I called Dean Foods at 1-800-854-3243 and talked to **. As I live in Arizona, she stated the item code was 2125100 and Albertson's had just ordered 16 cases as of Mar. 01, 2009. Sure enough, Albertson's had several on hand at their store. I told the store manager I just 'discontinued' shopping at Safeway and Albertson's just gained a new customer. I would strongly urge ALL OF YOU in search of IMO to do the same, if you want to see IMO remain on the shelves of your local store(s). Remember - they WANT your business. Tell them what YOU want...
Hello everyone. I work for Dean Foods. IMO Sour cream is still being made. We ship to large distributors, not individual stores, so it is hard to say what stores exactly will have it. It is best to speak with the Dairy Manager at your local store and let them know you want it. It is still being made. It HAS NOT been discontinued. It is mostly distributed on the West Coast.
ROSEVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- Why has IMO disappeared from the shelves? I can't find it anywhere. I can't tolerate regular sour cream and I've been using IMO for over 20 years. Why is it gone from all the local grocery stores and when will it be coming back? No one is offering any replacements! Very unhappy without it!
COOLIDGE, ARIZONA -- I used a sour cream substitute for many, many years. The last manufacturer was Dean Foods, the maker of a lot of dips for chips or veggies. IMO (I-M-O, not I-Mo) tasted much better than so-called real sour cream. It cost about the same, if not a few cents cheaper than sour cream, did not separate, had a much longer shelf life, and mixed with soup mixes to make dips much more smoothly. In my opinion, if they had IMO on the shelf, as far as I was concerned they could trash the sour cream. The only place I could find IMO was the local Safeway store until it suddenly disappeared from the shelves.
Safeway has a form you can fill out requesting a product or making a comment or complaint about Safeway. I filled out one of these forms for IMO, and when someone from Safeway called me, she was very short with me, like what business did I have questioning Safeway. First she tried telling me that IMO was no longer manufactured, then later in the call, let it slipped that Safeway had discontinued it.
I found out that it was still being made, and I have been asking all the local grocery stores to order it for me, so far without results. Safeway personnel still act like they despise me for having the audacity to inquire about IMO. I want IMO, not lies and excuses!
