JUNEAU, ALASKA -- DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT!! PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM!!! I purchased a ring, tennis bracelet and earrings. When I returned from my trip, I had the items checked out by a certified gemologist. The ring had a loose stone in the head; the earrings had an incomplete basket and did not have a full bar and one was not drilled through; and the bracelet had 8 loose stones, 4 chipped stones, a bent prong, and due to the soft metal, would probably need continual maintenance.

They have been very unwilling to work with me on a refund.

THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT!!!! AGAIN DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM!!!!

Can't Find A Place That Will Let Me Review Di Caribbean Stores...

ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- I can swear to the following: While on an NCL cruise, the Shopping "Expert", Lauren, kept pushing and pushing that DI was "THE" place to buy any jewelry. I can make a long story short: Take your charge cards and money and run away...run away fast! They will buy your "old" diamonds and gold, but you get ripped off SO badly! They lie to your face (Costa Maya), try to suck people into believing that Sterling Silver is actually unmarked 14K gold (Cozumel) and it goes on and on.

They are not to be trusted in any way, shape or form. Because of the way we were treated in the Caribbean Diamonds Internationals, I can only believe the ones in the USA are the same. They gave me an "assessed value" sheet that was lower than what I was told. Just don't go there. They have special lights that make everything glisten, but don't get sucked in. Take your free charm and go! I'm having to turn my problem to my charge company.

COZUMEL -- Just returned from our first cruise in April 2018. I know a bit about jewelry and was skeptical. Of course Royal Caribbean was really pushing you to buy jewelry and talking the talk about DI. I decided to take a peak. While looking at diamond tennis bracelets the first thing I noticed was how overpriced they were. I told the woman that I could buy that in the states for half the price.

When I asked her what the color of the stones were, she just stared at it for several seconds and said it was between G-H. What!!! You cannot tell the color by the naked eye! I ran out of that store. What a joke. Buy from your local jeweler. They will stand behind their product and treat you well. Stay away from chain stores too. It is all poor quality.

GRAND CAYMAN -- Purchase earrings while on a cruise. They started the process telling me the earrings worth $1050.00 - 1st price $840.00 - then we settle on $720.00 claiming was the VIP discount because of Norwegian Escape - had a coupon for $250.00 from the cruise did not used since the salesperson claimed my discount was greater. Surprise surprise, back in USA - on their website the earrings are $700.00. The best part is when they got back to my email the offer was $20.00 refund. Where is the saving, duty-free charges and all the BS. Don't buy before checking their www page for the items. This way you won't get play.

Horrible BEWARE SCAM

Purchased $6000 earrings; came back to the States and had my jewelry appraised for insurance purposes. Diamond earrings was not worth half the amount I financed. I returned the merchandise within the 30 day return policy because I was dissatisfied and I felt I was scammed. I still have not received any documents for my return and now they have submitted a claim on my credit. I have no earrings but a $6,000 balance with Diamonds International. $6,000 balance for earrings that are worth less than $3,000.

I've called the 1-800 numbers numerous times and left voicemails for call back (no response). I had my daughter call and when she finally reached customer service they gave her 4 phone numbers to call to try and get assistance. After speaking with 3 different women with all the same name they told her it was 5 minutes until closing time and they would have to call back the next business day. Beware! No help! No clear answers! Diamonds are not the quality they claim! No money back! If you are financing beware!

NEW YORK -- We stopped in to look at a diamond for my wife and all was going fine so far. Then we got the high pressure pitch to buy a bracelet and then earrings then a watch. In total we spent $20,000 which was okay until I got home. I was planning to return the watch to the New York store. The sales person said I had 30 days to do so but when I pulled my receipt he had stamped it Clearance Item all Sales Final. He did the after I signed the bill and put the other receipts in in front of it. Also I can't get anyone to answer in the New York store. I would beware and if I knew they were crooks I would have looked closer. DON'T GET FOOLED!
Update they have offered me to return is all for store credit. Again that's now what we were told. Just a bunch of crooks

Purchase of bracelet and ring

JUNEAU, ALASKA -- While on a cruise with Holland America, I received a VIP shopping card from the store shopping assistant. I took this card to Diamonds International to look at Tanzanite and to get the free gifts. I told the sales lady I was only interested in items between 100 and 150 dollars. She showed me items that were in the Thousands of dollars range. I should have grabbed my husband and run from the store. I DID NOT.

I am now the proud owner of a tanzanite tennis bracelet and a small diamond ring... along with a bill for almost 8000 dollars with payments of 125 a month for the next 5 years. Jewellery is super overpriced, on sterling silver, not white gold. Very embarrassing to be scammed this way and from what I have been told and read, there is no recourse. Just buyer remorse! NEVER NEVER NEVER SHOP AT THESE STORES! The little diamond pinky ring cost more than the bracelet. They are predatory sales people... Like a pack of wolves. Wish I had been more cautious.

Wish I Knew It Was a Scam for Tourist.

CABO SAN LUCAS -- I wish I had checked the web warning from other about scam. My wife and I went on short cruise to Mexico on Holland America to Cabo San Lucas. There was shopping cruise director from Holland America recommended this store, Diamond International. Of course, you would trust this a honest store, but no. All the representative cares is get a commission. I think like everyone else experienced, we bought jewelry that was overpriced. We were supposed to get tax/duty refund after 3 months.

It is more that 3 months, I saw the same jewelry on board ship that was thousands cheaper. If Holland America recommend this crap stores to shop, no more trips on Holland America or any other cruise ships that allow its passenger get taken advantage - stay away. From all the complaints I see, it has been going on for years. Moral: buy souvenirs that are cheap only. No luxury goods in other countries.

Cozumel Sales Reps Lied To My Face About Returning A Watch. DI Did Not Honor It.

NEW YOUK, NEW YORK -- Two sales reps at Diamonds International in Cozumel pressured my husband and I into the purchase of a watch. They guaranteed me that we could return it within 60 days. We purchased the watch. When we called to return it, we were told that they don't accept returns on watches. I opened a claim with Royal Caribbean, and all he did was forward my emails. Neither DI or Royal helped me. I spent $531 on a defective watch. They offered me $150 gift certificate. They get you coming and going!

Bottom line, if Diamonds International tells you something, don't believe the lie. Don't give in to deceptive sales practices and they won't honor the lies you are told. And Royal recommends these people. Royal Caribbean won't help you either. STAY AWAY! Don't believe your port shopping guides, and don't trust Diamonds International. It's a lucrative deal between the ships and Diamonds International & neither care what happens with their "guests".
