MALL OF LOUISIANA, BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA -- I purchased a Brahmin Handbag on 10/26/13, 6 days later I tried to return it because the zipper had a defect in it. I had my receipt and tag and I was told no they couldn't take it because it was used. I have always bought my name brand handbags from Dillards and have been a cardholder since 1989 (24 yrs.) but after this experience I don't plan to use my card again. I see customers return items being worn etc. all the time. I was told to send the handbag back myself.Add reply

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- I purchased a bathing suit on July 2nd, and returned it on July 7th with the tags still on and never worn. I returned it because the bathing suits had gone on sale on July 5th for 40% off. I was told the policy was that I could not return it, and then rebuy it at the sale price because that was a price adjustment. I said there is no price adjustment. I am returning the suit, and then will purchase a suit.

This went on for perhaps 10 minutes with a supervisor being called in. The supervisor said the suit had to go on the floor for 24 hours in order to be repurchased. I looked at her and said so if another woman comes along in 5 minutes and wants to buy the suit you're going to tell her: "No, sorry, you have to wait 24 hour to buy this?"
I got the sale price.
After many years of shopping at Dillard's, may I tell you how very disgusted and annoyed I was with the treatment/and or policy of the store.
I waited a very long time to write this, three weeks, to see if I cooled down. I have, but am still quite annoyed at the lack of respect shown to a customer, whether a new one or one of many years standing.
Ordered shoes online. Got them damaged. Attempted multiple times to contact them but no one returned my messages. Will never order from Dillard again!!! 1 Replies - Latest reply on 05/21/2012Add reply
MAILORDER -- I placed an order with Dillard's and because I needed the shoes before Christmas, I paid extra for expedited shipping. I was told there would be no problem, that the shoes were in stock and would ship immediately. I received an ema that the order was in process.
I checked the status the next day, and my order was still '"in process". I had to dig to find out that "in process" meant that Dillard's did NOT have the shoes in stock. My supposedly expedited order was nothing more than a back order. I've made several attempts to contact them about this matter, but no one seems to be able to help.
I will NEVER order from them again.
1600 CANTRELL ROAD, ARKANSAS -- I have recently visited the Oak Court store and to my surprise the Store Manager Mr Eugene Williams is no longer the store manager. I have been shopping at Dillard's since 1998. I have worked for Dillard's under Mr Williams. He is a visionary and motivator. He is a hands on manager. I have been to other Dillard's; have yet to meet or been greeted by the store managers. Mr Williams spreaded joy through out Dillard's. The key to a profitable store is a great leader. A great leader do not mind walking around the store and greeting the customers. A great leader will get dirty if needed and no job is too small. I have seen all of these distinguishing characteristics in Mr. Williams. Mr Williams was a GREAT ASSET to Dillard's Oak Court. 4 Replies - Latest reply on 09/04/2012Add reply
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE -- I bought a dress for my daughter's prom. The girl wears size 12, and we bought that size. The dress that arrived was marked as size 12, but was in fact two or more sizes smaller! We called the customer support and they agreed to send a replacement and not charge 8.99 for the returned shipment because the size was misleading.

The replacement dress arrived quickly - it was size 16... but still too small! I called and asked them how to return the order... They said they only can make this exception once per customer, and would charge me for the returned shipping. We ended up with no dress and overall shipping charge of $18! The account representative spent an hour arguing with me on the phone. When I asked her if they are interested in customer satisfaction, they said "no". This is the first time in my whole life that I heard such thing.
I recently made my 2nd purchase at Dillard's department store on line. The skirt I purchased looked nothing like the pic on line. I phoned customer service today to inquire about the return policy and my initial shipping charges. I was rudely told that when the warehouse receives the item back they will decide if it's defective and then issue a full refund. The customer service rep's tone was awful.

I went to place an order online for an item that was on sale, but the price was incorrect when I went to check out. Because the office was closed, I called the next day. I was told that the sale had ended the day before, and there was nothing they could do. I explained that I tried to make the purchase the day before, and should therefore receive the sale price, but they would not budge. I even asked to speak to a supervisor, who said she would not help me. I will not be making any more purchases from Dillard's because of this.Add reply
I am in a hurry and of course buying shoes for my daughter to wear for her wedding. Somehow or another I accidentally ordered the wrong size. I received the shoe and they were beautiful, but the wrong size. I called customer service after going on line and ordering the correct size. I was fortunate enough to get Rosa at extension 3322 who was the most helpful, kind, wonderful person I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She looked to find out where she could find the correct size, ordered the shoe for me and assured me she would follow up on my order when she returned after her day off. I was extremely impressed by her patience and professionalism. With people like this working for Dillards I will definitely order again. Thank You Rosa for calming my fears of not being able to find the correct shoe in the correct size you were awesome.1 Replies - Latest reply on 05/25/2010Add reply
