I just ordered DirectTV from DirectStarTV, and the representative said they were the official sales company for DirectTV. But their sales tactics are unethical and dishonest. (A nice way of saying I was lied to)
After calling 877-678-9086 and being told "my call was the first in line to be answered," about eight times, I held for 12 minutes before hanging up. Called same number again later and got a representative in just under 12 minutes.
Bottom line - representative offered discounted price by saying they could bundle my phone, internet and satellite. BUT, said I would have to speak with the "bundle desk" to do that. He said he would transfer me, and put me on hold, but then came back on the line and said he couldn't connect me and gave me the number to call myself.
I called that number, 888-629-2863, and spoke to a very nice gentleman who said he was unable to bundle my DirectTV and give me the discount because I already have AT&T phone and DSL. I made this VERY clear to the original sales representative and he said this would NOT be a problem. The gentleman at the bundle desk apologized and said what the sales representative told me was not true. He was very apologetic and said I should call back the same number right away, because after 72 hours I would be locked into the 2-year contract.
After calling the 877-678-9086 number again and going through the voice mail prompts, I selected the choice as a current customer and got a recording saying phone service was currently not available and to try my call again later! Yeah, right.
So I called back and at the voice mail prompt, said I was interested in new service. This time, again I was told "my call was the first in line to be answered." As I'm typing this, I've been on hold 30 minutes.....and bingo- I just talked to another representative who agreed the previous representative did not give me the right information - or the correct price!
But of course I have to call another number to cancel...now on hold there.
