FLORIDA -- Went online to pay my Dish Network bill last week, you are given three options pay your past due amount(last month's bill) pay current balance ( last month's bill + next month's bill basically double) or another amount. I chose past due amount it was Christmas and I was paying all my bills .I clicked that box and it went to the next screen and when it did It had chosen current balance basically double you either review or submit, I chose review because that's all I could pay this week. Well it ignored my selection and took the double payment. I called them immediately and explained my situation that I needed this extra payment refunded or they were going to overdraw my account and my family needed to eat this week. They said no problem as soon as it clears your account we will refund it back to your account. It cleared today called back to make sure they had started the refund process and they inform me that they are not giving any refunds Merry Christmas! I have been a customer for years and this is how they treat you!Add reply
When I purchased my TV from Walmart We decided to subscribe to the hopper. Now that the remote went bad we ask this company to replace a defective product, this means if dish does not replace there remote I will be switching providers. Sincerely Yours ' A very upset customer. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 12/31/2013Add reply
OXFORD, ALABAMA -- This company is horrible! Customer service is awful. I was on hold for over 20 minutes waiting for an account specialist, Nicole Operator 0E5, who was very rude. I asked to speak with her boss, she refused telling me she would just put me back on hold, which she ultimately did. This girl informed me Dish was going to charge me over $500.00 to cancel and I an responsible for getting their equipment to them, including mounted dish on my roof. Do NOT use this company. My bill continued to increase monthly, the agent informed me I was also going to be charged for not using their hopper.Add reply

I called to get another room on to my . I was told I had to make 2 year agreement, credit card and a credit . None of this was asked for or done when I started my service. No explanation why. If I didn't want to do the credit check I had to buy a receiver for $49.00. They told me when I stopped service with them at any time I could use it with another service. Add reply
DANVILLE, GEORGIA -- Been trying for 3 months to get credit for some movie channels I didn't order. Each time I call they assure me it will be on the next month bill and that they can't give me instance credit because I am billed through my phone company. Now they say it may take 1 to 2 more months for this to show up. I don't believe them this is. A bunch of un truths. Dishnet work sure stinks. Be assured I will be leaving them soon. Consumers beware!Add reply
OCALA, FLORIDA -- I got basic Dish Network free when I rented my apartment. It hardly ever works. If it storms, rains slightly or even if the wind picks up a little bit, I'm unable to watch television. Whenever I call about the problem, there always seems to be other issues in our same complex. The tech will not even stop by your apartment if there is an existing issue in the same complex because they typically make the general assumption that all issues are related. They aren't. I'm actually glad this happened. Now, when I move to my new place, I'll know better than to sign up for Dish. Regular cable for me from now on.Add reply
PERRY HALL, MARYLAND -- After using Dish Network for several years, I called to cancel my service. For one, this was the second time they mixed my account up with someone else's. They proceeded to tell me my pin was wrong, and I even told them the name they were giving me to remember was not correct. WHO DOES THAT? By the way. My first name is 9 letters. Not common. Ask how to spell it if you are confused! I was asked if I knew anyone who would want to take over the account. I said no. From there the tone changed. They charge you $17 to return the equipment. Other companies send you a prepaid label. After over 4 years you would think they would be a bit nicer. This is not the case. I am very disgusted. They also disconnected my service before the end of my service was due to end. I paid for it for the next few days and I did not appreciate that. I will NEVER AGAIN PAY MONEY FOR DISH NETWORK SERVICE!!!!!! It's not worth being treated badly. There's also ridiculous charges for everything. One person will charge you $10 for something, then you talk to someone else and they can waive it. Its horrible. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU!!!!!1 Replies - Latest reply on 12/14/2013Add reply
ABINGDON, VIRGINIA -- I am a new customer with dish and I have been nothing but dissatisfied with my service since I have had it hooked up, first, the person who sold me the package did not tell me or ask me if I wanted the package with the hopper, and then I called about it and they said I could not get it now, and now I was told I would get my local channels and now I do not get my local NBC channel. I plan to call and get my DirecTV back and cancel this contract, because you broke the contract to what you told me when I signed up for Dish Network. I will not pay no early disconnection fee either because you broke the contract not me

WILLOWS, CALIFORNIA -- Well at first I was mad at dishwork, but its not really them. Its the broadcasting companies trying to get more money. I have lost three stations, all affiliated with channel 7 krcr and kcvu fox 20 and the last one is channel 21 krvu which is my 21 all local stations. I was needless to say [snip] off when they were gone around 9 pm Saturday evening right before the big Sunday football game on fox niners/seahawks. Not to mention all my shows on Sunday night are on channel 7. How I remedied the problem. 8 o'clock Sunday morning before church I went and bought rabbit ears lol. Hooked them up watched the game watched my shows and now I will just wait for the contract to be settled. Oh yea I did get 5 dollars off my bill for 6 months and movie channels free for 3 months too. Good luck to you all.Add reply
I conracted with DISH'S bundle deal. I have 25 pay for view channels that I do not want. I have 8 channels that are repeats of each other. Now I do not have NBC which I sorely miss. I would appreciate it if DISH would pick up their equipment from my home and I never see them again!!! Add reply
MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPPI -- My wife and I moved from Florida to Mississippi for a job and Dish told us that the service should work and when we got to Mississippi we should call them to have them set up. That's what we did; and after the Dish Tech came out to set up our service he told us he was unable to set it up because he couldn't get a clear signal to the dish. My wife and I then went to cancel the service because Dish could not provide and they charged us with a cancellation fee of over $300. Even the Dish Tech said it was unfair and he hated how they just changed the policy to do that where as before he said this would have never been an issue. Dish customer representative to their script and would not budge from their bogus policy saying the same lines over and over again.

I told the representative that I was never going to buy dish ever and again and was going to tell everyone I know not to use dish because when they can't provide what they promise they make YOU PAY FOR IT!!! Dish you need to change this policy stat!!
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- Purchased a new Wi-Fi Router and set the password. When I tried to purchase a movie on Dish I had to reset the connection password. Dish Network's key board does not have enough keys or symbols to accommodate my new password. I had already changed the password on all of my devices as well as my wife and kids. Needless to say it is several devices. When I called Dish Network for help they told me that their keyboard does not have the @ symbol available, so I would have to change the password on my router as well as ALL of my families devices. What a pain in the butt. Not only were they not able to help me, the guy was rude as hell. Horrible customer service.
This is not the only time I've had bad customer service, in fact I've NEVER had good customer service.
The service itself is not bad, it's not great either, but the customer service SUCKS!
Worse Customer Ever!!

We cancelled our Dish about a month ago, was told the bill we got would be our final bill. After paying, we received two statements a few weeks later saying they would automatically charge for box return and disconnect fee. I spoke with a supervisor a couple weeks ago that I was not paying for boxes and I was told that we no longer had any payments to make. The supervisor said he would waive the 34 dollar fee. Well then I find they automatically took it out of our account. I called them again and threatened a lawsuit, I am now waiting for a refund. We will see what happens.Add reply

INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA -- I have never had a worse experience with any service provider "ever". I was with Dish net for over 14 years! Never late, never disconnected. When I tried to get Dish service back they set me up for 2 rooms of service-hopper-sling box-&free hi-def (for life). When the installation tech showed up - he did not even have hi def. No hopper, no sling box.
They wanted a $450 deposit. After the deal was made on the phone!
I went to DirecTV. So much better in all measures.
TERRE HAUTE, INDIANA -- I called to cancel because I cannot put up a dish at my new place and they made me pay $280 because I signed a 2 year contract. I never had any issues with dish before now. That is absolutely ridiculous that they couldn't waive the fee. I will NEVER use or recommend dish to any one ever. I am a college student and they set me up with this 2 year contract. I wasn't told until AFTER I signed that it was 2 years. The guy did all the installation and set up then told me it is a two year contract. What a joke of a company... So much for not wanting to lose customers.Add reply
