FRISCO, TEXAS -- I had an unfortunate situation occur with a store late April of 2003. Basically, I had one of their employees make an inappropriate remark to me in your store. I commented to the customer service online and they assured me of Eddie Bauer's commitment to customer satisfaction and that my email would be forwarded to team that addresses customer concerns.

Since the initial email I contacted customer service via email once in May and June to find out if there was ever any resolution. Finally in mid-June I spoke to a corporate customer service manager by phone and she informed me that these concerns are forwarded along to the local managers to address and there was nothing more corporate customer service could do.
In the past 5 months I have had no response from local management to resolve the complaint.

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO -- For my birthday I received a Eddie Bauer gift card for $25 from my sister. I kept it in my wallet and when I went to use it, the cashier informed me that the barcode on it couldn't be read clearly enough I guess because it had been in my wallet and worn off a little. Since no one in the store would help me, I contacted Eddie Bauer by phone and by mail several times, going through all the channels including finally writing to the president of the company and sending them the card. They were completely uncaring and unhelpful. In my letters, I mentioned I had been an Eddie Bauer shopper for at least 20 years buying at their stores and on-line numerous times a year. They didn't seem to care and essentially wouldn't give me the time of day.
I would have appreciated some sort of compromise or acceptance of my point of view but there was none. Even a coupon for a few percent off or something might have helped. As it is, I have not shopped at Eddie Bauer since then and never will.
I returned some items to Eddie Bauer by mail. They kept my clothes and refused the process the exchange. I followed their return policy exactly as stated, but they still refuse to operate honestly. I recommend staying away from Eddie Bauer.
They should either send me my returned items or process the exchange. They cannot keep both!
SPRINGBORO, OHIO -- On a recent trip, I utilized the rolling garment bag (item number 0236573593) I purchased. When packing at the end of the trip, it took 20 minutes of work to get the zipper to close on the rolling garment bag. When I went to the airport, the security inspectors opened the bag to review the contents. They too had a difficult time rezipping the bag. In light of recent national events, I didn't feel comfortable saying I didn't want the bag searched.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I'd to return the bag for a full refund. Because this is the 2nd bag (the first bag I replaced), I feel that you should review the functionality of the zipper of the rolling garment bag and if you agree it's terrible, pull it from the product line.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
