SOUTH HACKENSACK, NEW JERSEY -- We ordered kitchen flooring from Empire. we agreed on wood planking. After a week the men came to install it we were told the floors were not level and they could not install it without it cracking. We were frustrated and were willing to accept white tile and the salesman promised to have the floors leveled as well. When the men came to install they AGAIN stated it too would crack and refused to install it: and there was nothing about leveling the floors on the paperwork.
this was a week before Thanksgiving and our floors were a wreck Empire offered $300.00 off of rugs we had installed as well, but it did not restore our trust in salesmen who misrepresent the facts to sell floors.
Order carpet after being pressured by a pushy sales person. Carpet is not what they said it would be
Called to have someone come look at carpet they took pictures
Told me someone would call next still waiting
This has gone on for more than 2weeks. When I call I get same answers, they will call tomorrow.
That day still has to come.
Purchase Carpet for my entire home including closet spent over $4000 and was suppose to have the top of the line foam, and [stairs] are flat a year later. Carpet seams have come out in three place on three time. Poor quality carpet and they will not fix with a warranty. Don't buy from this company the are definitely not a company you want to deal with Add reply
GLADSTONE, OREGON -- We responded to the TV ad (buy one room, get 3 free). The year before we had our living room carpet replaced for about $800.00, but because of a new carpet burn from our fire place, we decided to take advantage of the ad offer and get a couple small bedrooms done as well. Even with the ad I knew there was bound to be extra charges. So I expected to pay double the living room costs. The sales bid came in @ over $5000.00! I asked the sales girl "how's that possible considering the ad"? She said the carpet was free for the extra rooms but we had to pay all labor. I asked how much per yard she was charging for the matching carpet. She had charged us 3 times the retail value for the carpet. Empire Flooring is the worst way to go for flooring. Go to a flooring store and find a reputable, local installer if you want a "real" fair rate for flooring and installation. Stay away from TV ads!

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND -- Salesperson came to my house because I wouldn't sign right away got very mad at me
told me I was cheap that I have two Mercedes sitting in the driveway.
How could I be so cheap and started getting loud with me. I called my husband who was @ the firehouse,
i salesperson was so rude my husband told me to call the police
i called the Corp. Office and filed a complaint and was told someone would get back w me in two business day, well it's been a week
and to make matter worst why did the salesperson ken call me on 8/7/13 and wonder if I was still interested
The salesman was friendly but pushy. He kept saying that he was a decorator and knows what will work. He pushed certain carpeting and window treatments. I finally caved in and bought the whole thing. I believe I got the wrong carpeting and definitely got the wrong window treatments. The salesman then claimed to be sick for 3 weeks. I told him that I wanted one window blind and that there is a refund. He said he would look into it. Three weeks later I called Empire and they said it will be under advisement for one week. The salesman never told them about the refund. Now I have to meet the salesman at a local Starbucks to look at a piece of carpeting to assess whether it's the right one. I hate Empire.Add reply

Had to reschedule carpet installation because installers wanted to begin installation late in the afternoon in the rain. I didn't want them at my
house in the evening or trucking rain and dirt in the newly constructed
house. Rescheduled for later day that week, asked for morning installation,
when installers didn't arrive, I called customer service to see where they
were and the customer service representative hung-up the phone. It is
now afternoon and still no installers. My time is important too.
What a rude company. Won't recommend them or personally use them again.
Ceramic flooring installed 5 days ago and counting with promises from company to complete the job. No cancellations, they just promise, but never show up. Do not trust the BBB ratings, they are a fraud, or from another obscure source. 3 Replies - Latest reply on 06/30/2012Add reply
ALPHARETTA, GEORGIA -- The carpet that the representative sold to us was supposed to have a 15 year warranty. We bought it in Aug 2009. It started to look worn and dated in less than 6 months. It is now Jan 2012, and the carpet looks worse than any carpet I see in hotel rooms, or any other public place! Awful!!! There is no way this quality carpet could ever last more than just a couple years. We were overcharged, and I'm fairly certain we did not receive the same carpet that we picked out from our representative One room cost us nearly $1K. Oh, how I wish I knew than what I know now.

I will never use Empire again, and I am telling all my friends and family to do the same. We now have to re-carpet the same area after only 2 years.

My wife and I bought a new house in 2002 and called Empire for a quote for vertical blinds. We decided to go with Empire and subsequently spent several thousand dollars to equip the entire house with vertical blinds. Over the years my grandchildren broke 2 of the plastic standoffs that the chord and chain spool through so I called Empire to explain that since this part couldn't be found anywhere else I would be happy to drive to a local installer to purchase these parts - and of course the installer said no they could not do that - apparently they needed the $50.00 service fee in order to sell me the part. Keep in mind that this part is probably no more than $2.50 so the total would probably be no more than $5.00 but no they wanted that $50.00. I asked the person on the phone who this installer worked for and she said Empire so I sugerted that they fire that installer as they were not doing much for customer relations.3 Replies - Latest reply on 11/02/2011Add reply
