ALPHARETTA, GEORGIA -- The carpet that the representative sold to us was supposed to have a 15 year warranty. We bought it in Aug 2009. It started to look worn and dated in less than 6 months. It is now Jan 2012, and the carpet looks worse than any carpet I see in hotel rooms, or any other public place! Awful!!! There is no way this quality carpet could ever last more than just a couple years. We were overcharged, and I'm fairly certain we did not receive the same carpet that we picked out from our representative One room cost us nearly $1K. Oh, how I wish I knew than what I know now.

I will never use Empire again, and I am telling all my friends and family to do the same. We now have to re-carpet the same area after only 2 years.
Discount? I Don't Think So
JAMESTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA -- We allowed Empire Today to quote a price on installing ceramic tile over 215 sq. ft. of space. First of all, he brought in samples of engineered vinyl tile because that's what he sold the most of and ... read full review2 Replies - Latest reply on 01/19/2012
My wife and I bought a new house in 2002 and called Empire for a quote for vertical blinds. We decided to go with Empire and subsequently spent several thousand dollars to equip the entire house with vertical blinds. Over the years my grandchildren broke 2 of the plastic standoffs that the chord and chain spool through so I called Empire to explain that since this part couldn't be found anywhere else I would be happy to drive to a local installer to purchase these parts - and of course the installer said no they could not do that - apparently they needed the $50.00 service fee in order to sell me the part. Keep in mind that this part is probably no more than $2.50 so the total would probably be no more than $5.00 but no they wanted that $50.00. I asked the person on the phone who this installer worked for and she said Empire so I sugerted that they fire that installer as they were not doing much for customer relations.3 Replies - Latest reply on 11/02/2011Add reply

Ad on TV: buy 1 room get 2 rooms free:

The salesman came to our house and did not disclose the price per sq ft even though I asked for it. After all calculation, the price ended up about 4 dollars more per sq ft comparing to other competitors. And, of course, buy-1-room-get-2-free was not happened. However, I believe Empire Today have better services compare to others such as move furniture, remove ground molding before installing.

2 Years ago I paid $2,000 for Wood Laminate flooring for my kitchen. The salesman assured me that the floor would hold up under no normal wear and tear of a kitchen floor.

6 months after install the floor starting lifting. I have called them and they agree that the floor needs to be replaced however the damage is due to my damp mopping of the floor.
Has anyone ever heard of a kitchen floor that cannot be damped mopped or walked on with wet shoes?
They are happy to give me a discount on the new floor... Do not deal with this company... customer service is terrible. Materials are shoddy.
FLORIDA -- Empires commercials do not reflect on their sales. I had a salesman at my house and he wanted 2495 for two small rooms. I'm in the construction business and know what things cost and they were about 2000 dollars higher than what it should have been. Not only that the salesman left his tape measur at my house for an excuse to come back and try to pressure the sale. Something should be done about these con artist.1 Replies - Latest reply on 12/31/2010Add reply
SEATTLE -- Do NOT fall for this scam! The choice of carpet available "at this low price" is horrible quality. The sales guy Joel Draper pressured us and told us we needed to do it quickly for this price. It hasn't been a year and everywhere it hit the hardwoods the carpet is coming up and even seperating from the padding. Everywhere else it's had traffic it looks beat down. We called to have someone come out and fix the bubbles. The guy was nice enough but told us he'd have to get a supervisor call us about replacing the piece of carpet because it couldn't be fixed. No call. We had to call repeatedly to get a call back only to find out they have to call an independent appraiser to see if they need to replace it. I've never been happy with this carpet or the installation and my neighbor's carpet installed by Home Depot is beautiful for the same price. STAY AWAY FROM EMPIRE! 1 Replies - Latest reply on 12/15/2010Add reply
NEW JERSEY -- Be extra careful when you accept and rescind the agreement with Empire Today. On 11/08/2010 we met with a salesman from Empire Today. Initially we accepted the products, but later the same day rescinded the offer. We contacted the customer service department that day and on the 10th of November and both times were assured everything would be taken care. We emphasized to them to please cancel any financing arrangements that may be in the pipeline. We were assured all would be ok.

Well, on November 24th we receive an Empire Today credit card that we will never use and have to cancel and this will reflect on our credit report. We have written the company and to all 3 credit bureaus to explain this saga.
also don't be fooled by this buy 1 and get 2 rooms from. They were expensive and we ultimately found another company with better products and saved a bundle of money.
We thought we should share our experience. Be careful.
