TWIN FALL AND JEROME, IDAHO -- I come into a store and hear good afternoon. I turn towards the employee only to find them now speaking to some other person. So I hear a greeting and then see the back of their head!

CLEVELAND, OHIO -- I go to Family Dollar on pearl and state almost every day. I spend at least a hundred dollars a week there. The manager Dominic is rude and couldn't care less if there are 10 people in line with 1 cashier. I won't be going there again.

I just went into store 6427 with my elderly mother to return a couple shirts and get a mirror that was only 3 ft from the register and the ignorant you know what tried to make her get in the back of the line. He grabbed the mirror out of my hand and was one of the ruddest people I have encountered in my life. I shop in this store all the time but after today I will never walk into one of those stores again. I will also bad mouth them to anyone and everyone. FAMILY DOLLAR SUCKS AND HAS THE POOREST CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Employee Performance During An Emergency
By -

FAYETTEVILLE, TENNESSEE -- Several weeks ago, while I was shopping in Family Dollar in Fayetteville, tn., One of the patrons had a seizure and fell to the floor. The only person with her was a toddler. The employee on duty took charge and handled the situation with extreme competence. She had another employee take the toddler away from the area and then called an ambulance for the patron.

While awaiting the ambulance she made the lady safe and comfortable. She made quick, efficient decisions and handled the emergency with good leadership skills. I was very much impressed by this employee's performance during an emergent situation.

SCRANTON, PENNSYLVANIA -- I shop at Family Dollar almost every day. Recently I accidentally grabbed an older check book that had 2 five in front of the check number on the bottom of the check which is a system they no longer use. It took about 5 days to realize the problem and I and the bank corrected it. Since then Family Dollar will no longer accept my checks saying I am a security risk. The two other places I had a problem with have no problem with my checks now just Family Dollar. This was an honest error and Family Dollar will lose a lot. I am a foster mom so I don't carry a lot of cash or it gets stolen so I can't change my lifestyle.

I used to spend a lot of money in that store and I can't believe this problem cannot be corrected. If not I will just take my business elsewhere.

Thank you
anne arre.

Management Abuse of Employees
-

HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT -- Reasons for the immediate termination of John Fabish, Store Manager of Store # 05055, located at 190 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT 06105

  1. John is verbally abusive toward employees. He makes threatening remarks, swears at and about employees, threatens to fire individuals and all employees as a group many times throughout each day. His verbal assaults are both intimidating and criminal, violating both Family Dollar policies regarding treatment of employees and producing a hostile work environment.

  2. John is both unable and unwilling to perform the job as store manager without the continued assistance from his significant other to perform administrative managerial duties as well as putting the company at risk for liabilities that may occur as a result of this person’s counting of company funds, access to confidential information, and fiscal liability if she becomes injured while working on the loading and unloading of trucks during receiving and of U-boats while stocking shelves.
John also has continuously put the company at risk by having a minor child, his nine-year-old stepdaughter, in the store in the early morning hours prior to opening as well as during working hours.

  3. John is unable and unwilling to provide a work schedule for employees, thereby violating both State of CT and US Labor Laws. There has been no posted schedule for the store for several months. Employees are expected to call daily to serve at his will to determine if they are to work for that day.

  4. During work, John has been under the influence of alcohol. The smell of alcohol has been made evident to all employees, security personnel and customers on too many occasions.

  5. John violates Labor laws daily in regards to denial of lunch breaks and other breaks. He has consistently required employees to stay in the store, sometimes for several hours, after close without pay, “off the clock” time.

  6. John has called employees at home and made threatening remarks, swearing at and about employees as well as making threats to fire the person. He has called an employee’s home looking for other employees that do not live there and also has made threatening remarks.

  7. John has repeatedly violated the privacy of female employees by walking into the women’s restroom while female employees have been using the facilities. This is considered sexual haressment by the female employees.

  8. Joe Russo, District Manager, that is responsible for this store and John Fabish’s immediate supervisor has been repeatedly been made aware of these actions and has also failed to address the situation.

Fabric Bandages
By -

IOWA -- Don't know where the previous reviewer is coming from, (maybe Egypt), but these bandages are the best on the market. And they are made so you can actually open the bandage without chewing the paper off as with other manufactuers. I'll buy nothing else!

Rude manager

CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA -- Family Dollar on Branchview has the rudest manager I have ever been in contact with!! You can't ask a question without her biting your head off. She's verbally abusive to the customers... I've had people tell me they stopped shopping in that store because of her!! I shop there a lot because the store is close to my house, but I will go to Dollar General which is 6 miles away just to avoid Donna at store number 251!!

If you want to keep your customers happy you should replace her with someone that's able to provide good customer service!!! If you don't like being around people you should stay at home!!

Fabric Bandages

I'm not sure if this is the place to leave this comment; but I wanted FD to know that the new Fabric Bandages manufactured in China are NOT any good. The previous ones manufactured in Egypt were of excellent quality and very satisfactory and every bit as good as the name brand!!
