Fantastic Customer Service!

CHEHALIS, WASHINGTON -- I went into the Fashion Bug on NW Louisiana Ave. in Chehalis, WA and bought 3 pair of pants and two blouses, but was in a hurry and didn't try them on.

Got home and got a few minutes to try them and the one blouse fit perfect, the turtleneck sweater was a bit large and the sleeves too long but I can fix the sleeves, a little loose otherwise is how I like my sweaters.

Bear in mind, we have a wedding tomorrow and I needed something for that, the bride requested NO DENIM and the only dress I denim!! I found a beautiful blouse that can be worn with a variety of pants, skirts, shorts, whatever, and it will go with all three of the pants purchased.

I tried the pants on and they all but fell down to my ankles, I've worn the same size for about 15 years so that is the size I bought....LOL....
wrong answer!! I called the store and explained my dilemma and even though they are going out of business (lost their lease) they said normally they would say no, but as long as I got the same style and color, to come on in and see if they had my size. Needless to say, I was out of here and took care to try the pants on this time....YAY!! All three pair fit beautifully and I'll have a nice outfit for an outdoor wedding!

Kudos to the girls at Fashion Bug for caring and I do hope they find another location to re-open the store. BTW....3 pair of pants and 2 blouses were $9.72 and would have retailed for $99.21 with tax.......OMG!!!! Am I happy? You betcha!!!!

Nothing makes me happier than a good bargain. It was nice of them to let you make an exchange. Have fun at the wedding!

Fashion Bug does have great deals and they are always mailing me coupons. Glad to hear they exchanged the pants with no hassle
Nohandle on 05/22/2011:
Even though you've worn the same size in the past, I've tried on jeans, liked the fit and promptly bought the two remaining pair in the same brand, size, stock number, color etc although I didn't try those on. I would discover, when home, they didn't fit. I wish manufacturers would get their sizing together. Nice compliment Crystal because it's almost unheard of a *going out of business* store allowing returns of any nature.

My wife loves Fashion Bug. I can see why. Thanks, Crystal!
PepperElf on 05/22/2011:
Nohandle - yeah I had that happen too. I was buying some jeans I liked and just went in and picked out a pair because I'd worn the brand before and knew exactly what size I was.

Wrong. It was cut wrong and was 2 sizes too small. Eventually I fit into them though, but meh.

I've always loved Fashion Bug. I miss them.

Good review Crystal and glad everything went so well.

Fashion Bug has some great deals. I was disappointed when they stopped carrying clothing in my size.
CrystalSword on 05/22/2011:
I'm hoping that Fasion Bug opens another store in the area, otherwise I have to go clear to Olympia and I have no idea where their stores are there. This one lost its lease, they refused to renew with the high rent increase.

The exchanged pants are a tiny bit loose but washing and going through the dryer should fix that, another size down was out of the question, they'd have been too small.

Time to get ready for the wedding so will check online when we get home.

Credit Rating hurt by Online Payment with Fashion Bug
Posted by on

Fashion Bug does not have a confirmation number when a customer pays online. The customer is left to wait for the money to be taken out of their account. Only to find out that the payment didn't go through when you get your next statement. And when I got my next statement I paid my account off. Fashion Bug hurt my credit rating by saying they didn't receive my payment. And I didn't find this out until I requested a copy of my credit report. They said they couldn't do anything because it was past 60 days. Well you can only get 1 free credit report a year! I would seriously NOT destroy my good paying credit record over 21 dollars. So, be warned, and be VERY careful with them if you pay online, because they will screw you over if you don't watch them!!!

Actually, you can get 1 free report a year from each of the three major credit reporting companies, so in fact you can get up to 3 free each year. go to to start the process.

No Skirts
Posted by on
ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS -- I used to be able to find just about anything I wanted by shopping at Fashion Bug. But, I went to buy a plain black skirt and could not believe that they didn't have ANY skirts. Since when does a woman's store not carry skirts?

Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I have no plans of going to Fashion Bug again.

YOu have been shopping there for years and ONCE they don't have what you want so you are NEVER going to go back? Did you ask someone if they are getting any skirts in? I have noticed a severe lack of skirts and dresses at many stores. It must just be the style.
Principissa on 02/20/2008:
Try Kohl's. They have the same type of clothes as Fashion Bug but are usually cheaper.
thensider on 02/20/2008:
Also, it IS winter! I have found that this time of year is hard fro buyign 'out of season' clothing. I don't think I would NEVER shop at a store just because they didn't have the item I wanted ONE time. now, if they don't sell skirts at ALL, that's another story...
Anonymous on 02/20/2008:
Well I for one, am appalled. I will never shop there!
GothicSmurf on 02/20/2008:
Could be that you went in during change of stock. Perhaps they did have skirts, but not one you liked or one that fit?
Anonymous on 02/20/2008:
lol Ken. You are just skirting the issue.
Slimjim on 02/20/2008:
Oh Shirley, Shirley, Shirley.
old fart on 02/20/2008:
Shirley... that would be like going into "The Men's Wearhouse" and finding that they no longer sell pants...LOL

" I'm actively involved in shaping My3 Cents" policy....?
You are a funny, funny man Stew...!

I am no Fashion Bug but I can't help but notice the stores are full of Spring and Summer stuff? Black is a Winter color no?
MRM on 02/20/2008:
Stew, I'm waiting for your true color to shine through and so far I haven't seen it yet.
Anonymous on 02/20/2008:
Thanks MRM.. I appreciate the support. You are indeed a valued and cherished member of the my3cents flock.
sunshine619 on 02/20/2008:
Hmmm, That is strange not to be able to find somthing as simple as a plain black skirt at any womens clothing store. I would just chalk it up to a bad shopping trip, maybe boycotting the store is a little much, especially if you have enjoyed shopping there in the past. It seems like I always find things when I'm not looking and can never find what I need when I am. Hope you found the skirt you needed somewhere else :)
MRM on 02/20/2008:
Stew, I don't think I made myself clear. When enough is enough, you will rip your shirt like Bill Paxby in the Incredible Hulk (the tv series in the 80s).

Stew, please leave Alley alone. Put her on your block list if her comments bother you. Thanks.

superbowl -- As always I have a great deal of respect for your insights but this time I must simply disagree. People of sound minds and good intentions can look at the same set of facts and come to different conclusions. That's why I love this place called MY3cents. Take care my friend and remember Stew loves ya!
CrystalSword on 02/20/2008:
I found it hard to find a plain black skirt several years ago when I needed one for a funeral, and I didn't want a black dress. I figured that the skirt would be more usable to me at a later date and I ended up settling for black pants, not exactly want I wanted but they too could be worn with other colors in the future.

Women don't wear that many dresses or skirts anymore. When I was in school, that's what ALL females wore, including the teachers. I have one dress for weddings, so what if I've worn it before....I don't need a closet full of clothes that I don't, won't, or can't wear.
StraightShooter on 02/20/2008:
Be careful in Rockford! I've got a good buddy there that's been charming the skirts off of women for years.
