MACON, GEORGIA -- 6/5/13 received a phone call, between Fedex and company sending my package, they left a message on my answering machine. I proceeded to call the Macon Ga. store to talk to a young lady that ask for my physical address, and she told me that my package would be delivered on 6/6/13, upon getting home from work, still no package, so I called the Macon Ga. store again, was told that they could not help me without a tracking number, which was never given to me, and for me to call 1-800-FEDEX, they also gave me the run-a-round, long story short, FEDEX workers had me calling from one office to the other because no one knew where my package was. Don't know what time my package arrived, I stay up until 11 PM, still no package. Awake the following morning to find my package sitting on the ground near my doorstep, after it had rain all night. About two yrs. ago FEDEX was suppose to deliver a modem from Windstream to my house.

When I called to check on it, I was told that it had been delivered to my home, when in fact it had been delivered to another address, told to me by the carrier, so Windstream told me to go and purchase one from BestBuy, and they reimburse me. I hope the next time that I have to have something delivered, that it can either come to my PO Box, or go through another CARRIER.

Clean Air Health Equipment Boxes Separated

GRAND FORKS, NORTH DAKOTA -- I had been expecting 1 package (or so I thought) from a Air Filter company. A friend in town was accepting and signing the delivery slip for me at his residence because the apartment building that I live in is not set-up for deliveries of any kind. The reason I was getting the clean -air unit is because I was becoming very ill from the second-hand smoke coming into my apartment from other apartments. "Time was of the essence" so to speak because I was becoming more and mire ill by the minute, with my respiratory system fully compromised and my asthma flaring up big time. On the day of the delivery, one box was delivered to my friend for which he accepted and signed for; but, upon viewing the tracking documents it seemed that there had been a second package, which contained special filters, that had been sent from the company, along with the first.

To make a long story short, the packages had been separated by Fed-Ex, and they had been sent in different trucks with different drivers. this meant that now it was possible that I would have to wait the entire weekend PLUS the following Monday, due to Fed-Ex delivery services not working on Mondays. This three day hold-up could have meant that I would land up in the hospital. I was able to intercept the second delivery trucks route by making calls to Fed-Ex and my friend was able to pick up the second package at a terminal. Of course, there should have been a message from the company to Fed-Ex to not separate the boxes, but the onus was still on Fed-Ex.

Have you attempted to contact your landlord about this? The landlord should have some responsibility to mitigate the situation.

Soaring Consumer - Thanks for the reply. Yes, the landlord is actually the person who bought the air filter machine for me. He is well aware of the second-hand smoke problem and is trying to persuade the building management company to have the building become smoke-free. He is also aware of the problem with receiving packages in the building,and is working on rectifying this; but, in this case it was better that my friend was involved so that he was able to pick-up the second package at the Fed-Ex terminal, for I don't drive right now. The machine, BTW, is the IQ MultiGas unit, a toxin-filter par excellence! I also think that the IQ company should be held partly responsible for what could have become a disaster, and I told them that over the phone. There should have been strict instructions to Fed-Ex that, under no circumstances, should the boxes be separated.

Fed Ex Wheeling, Illinois Facility

If you are having something delivered via Fed Ex, I suggest you request it not be sent through the Wheeling, Illinois, facility. I have many, many things delivered by Fed Ex, and 95% of the time my items arrive promptly and in good shape. The 5% of the time when there is a problem, it's because it's "stuck" in the Wheeling, Illinois facility. Every single time. Unfortunately, I forgot that when I ordered my frozen food on 2/18.

I tracked it to Wheeling on 2/22, the date my e-mail notice said it would be delivered. It's still there on 2/23, the new date my e-mail notice said it would delivered. I just spoke to a Fed Ex rep, who told me my food is now scheduled to leave Wheeling 2/25. We'll see.

BTW, my shipment was divided into two boxes, and for some reason box 1 did not go through Wheeling and arrived on 2/22 (semi-frozen but thawing and with no dry ice remaining).

I'm not sure if you can request that your package not go through a specific facility. The best way to do that would be request a different shipping company.

Fed Ex Did Good Job

I have never liked Fed Ex, they seemed 2nd best to United Parcel, but this time Sony shipped a laptop to me and had the right city but the wrong address. Fed Ex was good and must have called Sony and got the right address so good for them.

Working Conditions

I work as a Concierge in a condominium in Center City Philadelphia. I don't know if you've ever been in Philadelphia in August, but the heat and humidity are unbearable and doing any kind of physical activity outdoors can kill you.

I found out from my FedEx driver/delivery man today that FedEx delivery trucks are NOT air conditioned; I also found out that my delivery man has to load his truck every day himself at the distribution center, which is also NOT air conditioned.

This is incredibly cruel - these poor drivers/delivery men are dealing with near 100 degree temperatures and Fedex doesn't even care enough about them to install air conditioning in their vehichles or distribution center. Yet you want everything delivered ON TIME! You're lucky things even get delivered at all! Greedy, heartless pigs!

Agreed! Also, it's always nice to have a nice cold bottle of water to give to your delivery men/women as well as your postal carrier....they really do appreciate it!

Wonder why the competition for a job there is heavy? Doors & windows open, quite frequently. Stops, in & out...just not economical, ie gas and maintenance. Many folks work outside and in factories without ac in places a lot worse than Philly. I see very few FedEx employee complaints.
As far as loading, who knows better how to arrange the packages for unloading better than the delivery man?

My FedEx guy is always cheerful.

I can't remember seeing any FedEx employees wrting complaints online, which tells me either they use Human Resources or they don't have as bad a job as this sounds.

I noticed that the UPS trucks also have no A/C. The drivers have the doors wide open for air and the trucks have a stick shift. Just imagine driving in traffic all day with sweltering heat, shifting gears & pushing the clutch pedal up & down 500 times. Then you have to make 50 to 75 plus deliveries carrying boxes of various weight. No way would I want this job, there are cooler easier ways to make a living.

Post office trucks also have no airconditioning. When you work in it all day your body acclimates to the weaather better than going from air to without air. My husband worked construction for 40 years and we didn't get air in the house until he retired. Of course, I remember when there was no air of any kind. Remember this when people complain about construction workers being overpaid. They work in heat, humidity,freezing temps, and all sorts of bad weather. If they don't work they don't get paid.

My dental hygienist's husband has a heating and air company. She will tell you in a minute she doesn't know how he stands it in the dead of summer or winter climbing into attics and beneath homes to work. She does laugh stating when he gets home the air conditioning is set to 60 degrees and heat to about 80. I don't know if you ever get accustomed to it but he's done it since a teenager when working with his father.

our place of business is in a warehouse, it is not air-conditioned. We have been in business for 20 years and haven't lost an employee or a customer to the heat. Obviously, you can tell when you are hired that it isn't cool in there and it isn't warm in the winter. It just isn't feasible unless you want to pay double for the product being sold. The people that work for us are happy to have their decent paychecks and paid for healthcare in this day and age and the customers keep coming in.

MICHIGAN -- I ordered several panels for my 1951 Plymouth from a company out of Michigan. Fed Ex sent 1 small box and the other box {which was large, and had most of the parts in it} was damaged in Michigan. I got the 1 box, but never received the other. I waited a week, and nothing. I called Fed Ex, and after a lot of run around, they admitted that it was damaged. Wasn't going to tell me, or the seller. After contacting the seller, he called them. They were not going to do anything. The lady on the phone said that I would have to straighten it out and file papers to get a refund. The right tracking number wasn't even on it. They should have contacted one of us, but they didn't. The seller just got the package back 1 week after I talked to them. He is sending new, but now he has to fight them. Now my project was put on hold for 2 extra weeks because of them. FED EX YOU SUCK

There was a package that was damaged in shipping, and it has been returned to the sender and a new one sent.

I understand this has caused you an inconvenience, but sometimes packages do get damaged, whether it is FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.

I've never given Fed Ex or UPS a phone number or email when I ship things. Maybe they just don't have a way to contact the people involved.

Maybe because the right tracking number was not on it (wrong number or no number?) they did not know who to call. Nothing indicates they were not going to call either the buyer or the seller.

Two weeks is hardly a long time in terms of getting damaged merchandise replaced. The fact that these are panels (either interior-e.g. door panels, or exterior e.g. fender) indicates that this was a large box with flat parts inside, which could easily have been damaged because of the nature of the contents - not able to stand any weight being placed on flat side of the box.

COLORADO -- I would like to thank Federal Express for delivering my package just now, at 9:00 AM, Saturday, February 11th, 2012, in such bad weather.

I ordered an item yesterday morning, out of Daytona Beach, Florida, and decided to go with Federal Express Saturday delivery, because it would work best for me, I would be home.

Last night, a snow storm began, and I started to have doubts my package would arrive, due to weather conditions, and I tracked it, and as I was tracking it, so far so good.

When I awoke at 6AM this morning, I looked outside and had a shock, because we are having a bad snow storm. On the news last night, they made no mention that we would be having blizzard white out conditions. I thought to myself, oh well, if it does not arrive, it's not Federal Express's fault.

But it did arrive! I heard the doorbell, and ran downstairs to find the Federal Express delivery man on my door step, all happy and smiling with my package. I've always had excellent service with Federal Express, and am glad I made the decision to have my package sent for Saturday delivery.

Federal Express, well done!!!!

Nice compliment Skye - it's great to see someone who understands how a delivery company works before dealing with them, and afterwards the company meets or exceeds those expectations. It does happen.

I removed the "most part" wording out. I've always received excellent service, when choosing Federal Express. It's the USPS that always let me down quite a few times.

fedex rocks!! my company uses fedex as our exclusive shipper. for nearly 10 years i used ups, but their service and commitment was less than acceptable.

The only time FedEx ever let me down was when I had shipped an overnight flat packet for delivery by 10:00 the next morning. I was a tad disappointed until I learned that airport had been closed for all flights both incoming and outgoing. Not a whole lot you can do about that and I certainly didn't blame them. And I didn't request reimbursement for failure to deliver as requested. A little common sense comes into play here.

I second the kudos to FedEx. I spoke with HP Support on Monday about a replacement hard drive, and they said I woul;d have it by Friday. Lo and behold, the FedEx lady rang our doorbell on Wednesday morning. Two thumbs up!

I, too am impressed with FedEx. We now ship all our packages going stateside with FedEx. We are still stuck shipping APO with the USPS and are amazed by the efficiency of FedEx compared to the antiquated USPS. At FedEx there is ample parking; automatic doors(convenient with large boxes to be shipped); efficient and friendly employees compared to obese, rude, and arrogant government employees. And, the best part: I understand FedEx is non-union---a definite plus.

Very Rude Driver

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Had questions to the Driver when I walked up he Drew a bottle of soda out of thetruck, i walked up saying that was not nice he didn't even looked at me a knocked ont eh window, the window was rolled down a little so I know he heard what I said when I knocked at the window he said don't touch the truck, i told him I just wanted to know if he knocket at the door when he delivered the package, he knocked at the door, he just was very rude and nast asking me why. I walked of and told him I will comlain about him beeing so rude and walked of. Next time he should throw stuff out the window in his neighboor hood

Was it a delivery being made to you? I can understand why delivery drivers don't want to stop and talk to you, opening their doors and windows. (1) my UPS guy and FedEx driver move at the speed of light and (2) safety.

Both FedEx and UPS drivers are measured by the 1/100th of a stop per hour. There is absolutely no time to pause and chat with anyone. Also, neither of the companies' drivers know if management is tailing them, observing them for "dwaddling" or "wasting time." Drivers are commonly written up for having one minute extra delay time between stops more than what Google Maps shows there should be. After a minimal number of write ups a driver can be FIRED! Please, don't be so quick to judge a driver as being rude. A company says they want their drivers to be customer liasons, but in reality a driver is punished for being such.

Fed Ex lied about delivery and attempt

FedEx "up to date" scanning is a lie. They said my package which I needed and had called to check on. They said it was on schedule to be delivered right up to 12:00 on the day it was due. Then it changed to the next Monday. Then I called and called and they told me they had attempt tio deliver but no note was on my door and they did not call me. Insult to injury the last lady hung up on me. I hate them and will request no more Fed Ex shipping in my business and in people I deal with.

I agree a note should be left if that is their procedure. Question - was someone at the place where the delivery was allegedly attempted, and heard no doorbell or knock?

Package was not received on the 13th of July

I was informed that on July 13 2011 my package was left at my door I did not receive any notice about my package. I need your company to check this complaint, check your records and see who was working this area of 2001 Story Ave Bronx New York 10473 on that date. No notice was left. I paid for the package in my opinion that your driver is doing his job correctly.

You say that a package was left, but no notice was left.

They wouldn't leave a notice if they left the package, correct? Have you checked the status online, and does it show "delivered" Did this package require a signature? If not, maybe it was stolen.
