Please, if you’re a merchant, do yourself a favor and NEVER use Fifth Third for your credit card processing. It cost us thousands when their Merchant Services gave us voice authorization and pre-approved some sales that later proved fraudulent.

They will lie and deny that they gave you the six-digit approvals and then take back the money!
Stay well away from their processing!
I had excellent credit when I went to a dealership to purchase a vehicle for my wife. Due to my credit, I received a very favorable interest rate. Due to the terms of the loan, I kept my responsibility and made the payments on the vehicle and never received threatening letters, harassing phone calls, or rude employees. In fact, the few times I have had to call, I have experienced nothing but knowledgeable, helpful employees. Since this is my second loan with this company, I believe that this positive experience is the norm rather than the exception.
A loan is pretty simple to understand-you borrow the money and you pay it back.

5/3 recently bought my First Charter Banks in NC. Now I am reading that the Feds may close 5/3 down. After 5/3 wasted an enormous amount of my time due to the conversion problems of First Charter customers where I was told that they were converting my totally free First Charter account to their totally free 53 Club account, I am finding that 5/3 lied about the fees and interest rate, made bogus postings on my account, etc.

5/3's account is not free at all because I have to maintain a $100 balance or be charged a $5 fee, which I just saw on my account today. 5/3 also lied to me about the interest rate on this account where they told me I would get 2% interest and I noticed I am only getting 0.18%. I am moving my account and I hope the Fed does close these liars 5/3 down.
TOLEDO, OHIO -- Recently (May 2006), I applied for a VA Loan through my local 5/3 Bank in Toledo, OH. My loan rep. was so not familiar with the VA process that she didn't make me aware of the EEM until the day of closing (even though I inquired several times before, during and after mortgage negotiations). Now 5/3 Bank's Mortgage management is telling me that it's too late to get the badly needed energy efficiency upgrade money. Due to their inexperience and "gathering the wagons" mentality, I am being blamed and penalized for not knowing about the EEM process...does anyone out there have any suggestions. 5/3 Bank has left me high and dry with a basic "Sorry about your luck" attitude. No customer relations offer to fix their mistake only an offer to refinance at the current high interest rate and the enormous VA processing fee all over again.
I should have checked with you folks first to find a lender who knew how to make this EEM loan possible...who knew...I listened to my realtor who knew less than the 5/3 Bank mortgage rep. Is it a Veteran thing or just poor customer service?
Any suggestions would be appreciated, sincerely.
