BENTON, KENTUCKY -- We purchased our manufactured home in June 2003. The house was set up in September 2003. Since that time we have encountered numerous problems. We have a sagging, leaking roof, shower stall doors that have fallen out and hit us in the head and shoulder. Carpet that has been installed incorrectly (after having to be replaced), contractors sent by the company harassing and badgering, then refusing to do the work they were hired to do. Windows and doors that do not fit correctly (one window not even attached), fireplace flue installed incorrectly which now leaks, sagging ceiling panels.
This company has breached the warranty. We were told this was the best warranty around. Check the website and see the bragging. We are not the only people with this problem. We have numerous complaints on this company and the retailer, Coachman Homes in Missouri. PSC has done an inspection and Fleetwood hired their own inspector and these problems were found with these inspections. We have spent $5,000 on an attorney that has been useless.
The retailer now wishes us to vacate for two weeks (AT OUR EXPENSE of $9,000.00) so they can replace the straps and anchors, level the home correctly, place the electric line for the AC in the protective conduit, on and on. This to correct problems that should have never occurred or done right to begin with. We delayed moving in for a month so some of these issues could be dealt with.
The refrigerator did not work and was finally replaced with a two year old refrigerator full of roaches. So another expense has been an exterminator. My wife has MS and has had two relapses since this all started. This has gotten to be an impossible situation and we have been dealing with this for nineteen months.
