Incessant Sales calls, no messages, no stopping it!

Rating: 1/51
MISSOURI -- Completed online form at Freightquote.com regarding a potential shipment. Shipment did not materialize. For months now I get multiple phone calls weekly and sometimes daily, and if not answered with two rings, hang ups. No messages are left.

When returned call and complained agent became indignant and condescending. Said the calls would stop. They have not. Paused for a month, but the calls have begun anew. Placed on do not call list - may take legal action through state agent.

Good luck! I keep getting calls from india regarding diabetes... I don't have the problem but they call almost daily. I doubt if the "do not call list applies to india...

Complete Ripoff

I had run a few rates with freightqoute and they were good I thought, I finally booked a shipment with them and they came back 2 months later wanting more money. My freight took forever to arrive to my customer and they said it was because my product was reweighed. The shipment I sent was 230 lbs they said it was 570, I have been shipping for over 13 years and I have never shipped anything that heavy. They screwed me, my sales representative and account representative are useless. NEVER USE Freightquote.

Since then I now use PNGLC.com for rates. They answer the phone when you call and they had better rates and I have so far sent 20 shipments with them and haven't had any issues.

9/22/2010 To answer your question no I emailed called left messages for documentation and never got apparently their MO is to come back with bogus charges and ask for more money.

We've used them on several occasions and have never had a problem with them, thankfully.
Skye on 2010-09-17:
Since they are saying your shipment weighed 570lbs, instead of 230lbs, what does your documentation say? Did they tell you why the sudden weight increase?
FlShopper on 2010-09-17:
Was the box big enough that you were charged dimensional weight?
Anonymous on 2010-09-17:
That is a big jump for an oversized shipment but a very valid question.
JPietro on 2010-09-22:
They never offered me a reweigh sheet, I fought to get documentation and never got it. I left messages sent emails but nothing what a waste

This outfit has TONS of ripoff reports. Do your homework and you will NEVER EVER use them. Once they have your credit card number they will hold your item hostage while they add charges that have no basis. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Freightquote won't pay damage claim
Posted by on
For a shipment of sculpture going to Arizona, Freight quote sold us $5000 worth of insurance. There was damage to the sculpture when it arrived at the customers house. The damage was hidden and could not have been noticed by the customer. When we arrived to install it the damage was discovered and we contacted them. They told us to file a claim when we returned. We had the damage repaired locally and were told by Freight Quote that it probably wouldn't be paid because the customer signed for it. We have given up submitting a claim because they now refuse to pay any part of this claim. I would not recommend Freight Quote for any shipping needs.

Why wouldn't the customer sign for the item? If the damage was concealed it would be impossible for them to know until it was opened. Keep after the company to pay for the damages. Read your contract to make sure they don't have any loop holes to slip out of paying the claim.
Anonymous on 2009-09-23:
The loophole is probably that if you sign for it you're out of luck.
Ryan on 2011-06-20:
If Damage is not notated on Delivery receipt upon arrival you are not paid out in full. This falls into concealed damage where the Carrier not Freightquote refuses to pay at the full amount. You usually get .10/lb coverage in concealed damage claims. This is an industry standard with everyone you use not just Freightquote.com

I will never use this company again, ever!

ROCKTON, ONTARIO, CANADA -- My company and one of our sister companies have both used Freightquote.com, once. We will never use this Internet service again, ever, nor will we recommend it to anyone. The most recent experience saw us paying nearly 4 times the original amount quoted and delivery taking significantly longer than stated in their original quotation.

Disputing charges on one's Credit Card when a 3rd party is involved is virtually impossible. Your bank may feel your pain but they cannot help.

Lesson learned: deal one on one with your chosen carrier and then you have recourse.

Thanks for the information.

Read my post on the Amtrak shipping service for an alternative. Not sure if they offer the service in Canada, but I know they travel there. Alternatively, you may have a train service that offers it too. I was impressed that it was inexpensive and worked perfectly too.
JPietro on 2010-10-15:
If you ship in and out of Canada PNGLC is a great option. Their number 877-764-9441, someone can get you set up there.

Bungled shipment

I contacted Freight quote re. getting a skid delivered from a warehouse in Miami to a depot in Niagara Falls, NY.. They gave me a great rate but . . . Unfortunately the skid wound up at a Texas address where it was refused. After a couple of weeks, when it had still not turned up in Niagara Falls, we tracked it down in Texas. In the end, it costed me a few hundred $ more to get it out of storage in Texas and re-routed to Niagara Falls. Not a happy experience

Why would you have to pay to get it out of storage in Texas if it was an error on the part of the freight company?
Skye on 2010-08-15:
My thoughts exactly Raven. What the op now needs to do, since he paid to get their mistake, out of storage, is to go after freightquote, and have them reimburse him for the money, he is out.
FlShopper on 2010-08-16:
Agree with Raven and Skye. Freightquote made the mistake and it's on them to correct it.

Don't believe the quote the give you. That are crooks. They gave me a quote lower than there competitors, then after the delivery they more than doubled it. they are a bunch of crooks and I would not believe there quote. It is lie, not worth anything.

That's why you should get it in writing. We moved from Chicago to Atlanta and I didn't let anyone screw me over!
kcknolte on 2010-07-29:
I am a shipping manager and every carrier adjusts your invoice if you are wrong on the weight or freight class. You can't quote at one weight and ship another, that would be like asking for a price on a ford focus and asking ford to give you a mustang at the same price because "it's what they quoted you".
jktshff1 on 2010-07-29:
justthefaxx, bet that move was a shock in culture!!!!
