KANSAS CITY, KANSAS -- At first I was very happy with the service Freightquote provided.They arranged with a shipping carrier to pick up a heavy item and ship it from Arizona to Virginia for me. I estimated the size and weight and tried to err on the side of overestimation. The shipping company came on time and delivered on time and Freightquote charged my credit card the agreed-upon price.
Three weeks later I noticed a second charge from Freightquote that was more than double the original agreed-upon price. They claim that the item was twice as large as my estimate and that the charge is to make up for that difference. There is absolutely no way that the item was twice as heavy/large as I estimated, but when I brought this to their attention, I got nowhere and they have never offered legitimate evidence of the estimate being half of the actual. I tried to dispute this with my credit card company, but they refused to take a position on the charge. I would highly recommend thinking twice about using this company.
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI -- After receiving a quote and setting a date, they claimed all the specs about the pickup weren't accounted for, although I told the salesperson. They upped the quote, but said it would be taken off my next shipment with them. Paid in full before shipment, before they scheduled pickup. After delivery they claim the trucker said the weight was 1,000 pounds more than what had been quoted, and what I know the weight actually was. Called my salesman and he said the extra charges would be wiped off (actually repeats this 6 times).
However, the daily harassment calls from their collection department continue, now claiming the salesman says claims there was a contingency to wipe out the balance. What??? Guess he forgot to tell me about whatever else was on his mind. Bottom line - find honest folks to do business with. Now using The Freight Rate Company - no problems and lower price, too.
RUSSELLVILLE, KENTUCKY -- Freightquote is a bait and switch company. I emailed them and asked them what it would cost me to have a 4 pallet shipment from Chicago to Ky delivered. I didn't know what my merchandise classification was so I let them determine that. They did so and gave me a fair price so I had them do the shipping through AAA Cooper. After the items were delivered they email me and tell me I owe them almost twice what they had quoted because AAA Cooper said it wasn't classified properly.
Well Freightquote is the one who classified it so I believe they should have to pay the difference. They basically suckered me in with a low rate and then raised it after delivery. My credit card company wouldn't reverse the charge because the delivery receipt I had signed says that I would be responsible for any up charges that may occur. Thanks to PAYPAL for that wrong doing as well. By the way this is the second time I used Freightquote and both times they pulled this stunt. Shipper BEWARE!
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- Paid for delivery with Freightquote.com. Hired 2 laborers to assist with unloading the merchandise on the expected delivery date. When the end of the day arrived and the delivery was still pending, I called Freightquote and inquire if the shipment was lost or delayed. The CS representative told me that the carrier reports the shipment is still an entire state away and the shipment will be delivered tomorrow.
Freightquote.com caused me to waste resources due to not notifying me that the shipment would be delayed. When I mentioned this to the CS rep, I was told that was the nature of the business. I have to disagree and when I am done with this shipment, I will never use their service again! Buyer beware!
KANSAS CITY, FLORIDA -- I was lied to about size of the freight and hauling conditions. Broker clearly stated that the item is in the crate, and only needs to be top tarped. Turned out it is big machine - 96" tall instead 56". Shipper need it dry, that means completely tarped. If I would have known all information before I signed rate confirmation, I would never took this load. We end up not taking it, lost a lot of time. Compensation for truck not used was not paid. Broker was very rude. I will never do business with this brokerage again.
Product 'went missing' during shipment. Contacted customer service, and they said they would contact the shipper and get back to me. Never got back to me, and refused to return numerous calls & emails thereafter. I would NEVER use this company again, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone.
Freight quote personnel has a lot of excuses but no results. Also very rude when contacted about problems was told, "I TOLD YOU!" rather than trying to help. Would not recommend this company to ANYONE! Unless they are the last resort. I could have gotten the shipment done for $20 more somewhere else and now am very sorry I didn't pay the extra $20. You get what you pay for!
KANSAS CITY, MAINE -- We spoke about this quote at least three times. Every time, we reviewed the item being sent and the class 250 which it belonged. I even called Estes Carrier to verify the Class and described in detail the item which they called class 250 as well. So you both agreed independently. I reviewed with them the structure and you told me to crate it. Never was in mentioned that it had to be palletized. When I dropped it off to Estes, they did not mention it either. The person that signed for acceptance put the crate on their forklift and drove off so it didn't need a pallet then.
The pictures that were sent from Estes shows they could have tied it to the side of the truck trailer wall which has a provision for that. There are several items in the same picture in the background that are not palletized as well so why did mine have to be. Then Estes Carrier and Freightquote.com change the class to 300 and adds a pallet which brings the dimensions and weight higher. Then they add additional $17.77 on top of the already ridiculous $98.57 already charged! That was their way of adding additional unwarranted charges. Then to top it off, I'm not notified about any charges until I check my bank balance yesterday!
I complained yesterday to **about not getting any notice so I could dispute this earlier before charges were taken only to get the notice "as I was talking" (some notice!) to ** yesterday (which the notice is dated 2/3/2014) after a transaction was taken out of my bank account! I want my $78.02 back!
Freightquote.com also wanted to blame Estes Carrier for this. Freightquote.com is the one I dealt with and sent my money to. I already paid $447.36 to Freightquote.com (freightquote.com, not freightestimate.com) which I think is enough. I don't need to have another charge of $78.02 after the deal is done! It's your responsibility to refund me, not waiting for somebody else to decide for you. They're representing my satisfaction. They can get your money back from whomever they want to afterward, I bought from them.
