VAN NUYS, CALIFORNIA -- I bought a new 2002 Mountaineer from Galpin Jaguar Lincoln Mercury in the city of Van Nuys, Located at 15500 Roscoe Blvd. in Van Nuys, Calif. When I bought my car I noticed that the car started to have a rough idle. so just before the 5000 mile check up, I had taken my car in at 4356 miles to the dealer. and then stated that the car had a rough idle. they had said the car would have been fixed. there after they had called me and had told me that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. the second attempt the car continued with the same problems. so then they called me and said that they had found the problems and it was the spark plugs. which was a false statement. because the problem had continued. now the third attempt is when I had talked with the service advisor and the mechanic and they had looked over my car and stated that the car had a rough idle. days later they had called me and said that your car has been repaired. they said that they found the problem and replaced the EGR VALVE and EGR ASY. well the problem had continued. the fourth attempt... they then tell me that nothing is wrong with the car. a ford engineer and ford zone rep. claimed that this is normal idle for this vehicle. WELL... all along through this entire problem they have been telling me nothing is wrong with your car. so why did they change all of those parts? I had shown the car to two mechanics and they stated that something is in fact wrong with the car. and for my curiosity I went and test drove three mountaineers at a different dealership and they did not have a rough idle. now they refuse to repair my car and in fact, it is under warranty. I am so unhappy with the service from the dealership and ford company that now I am going to take legal action against Galpin Jaguar Lincoln Mercury dealership.
