Geek Squad hung up on me 4 times so far. After waiting a half hour plus to get help, listening to all the music, to hear CLICK. Four times now. Wish I was computer smart. Ripped off today. Geek Squad has been a nightmare. It is almost impossible to get through to anyone, they do not do what they promise what they will do.
They double billed me, promised me a refund w/n ten business days, no refund. Called back, they said they never documented any of this so there is nothing they can do.
GRAND JCT., COLORADO -- We had just purchased a flat screen TV and sound bar from Best Buy. The following day we had trouble connecting the sound bar, so the Geek Squad came to our house to help us. The two young men were very knowledgeable about the product and gave us confidence that our problem could be solved quickly and professionally. The two technicians were Daniel and Mike.
They not only connected the components, they also programmed our remote and answered questions about other attachments we were contemplating purchasing. When they left we noticed they organized and bound together all the cords and cables which left a very organized affair behind the TV.
We are very satisfied and would recommend the Geek Squad to anyone with problems with their electronic purchases.

AURORA, COLORADO -- My cell phone is under warranty and I went to Best Buy to have them check it. I was advised the Geek Squad was now responsible for repairs. I explained to the GS guy that my phone would just shut itself off for no apparent reason but when I would plug it into the charger and turn it on, the battery would still have plenty of power. The customer service representative said they would replace the phone. Good news right? Nope. A couple of days later, I was contacted by GS who said My new phone was in and we arranged for me to come in later that afternoon. Long story short... The new phone doesn't work either. Why? Because it didn't come with a new battery. The only thing wrong with the phone was the battery. I spent two hours waiting for them to figure this out. In the meantime, all my contacts, photos, apps, etc. now have to be reloaded and reorganized. Another couple of hours worth of my time. BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS -- I had my laptop 1 week when my son broke the screen. I almost cried. I took it to Geek Squad (March 11,2013) and with only 2 signatures my laptop was on its way to getting fixed. They even offer to ship it back to your home so you don't have to go get it. Sooooo the geek told me it would be 7-10 business days and today is the 19th. I got a call today that my repair is done and will be shipped back to me soon.
Since the day I dropped it off I've gotten 6 emails telling me everything that's going on with my laptop. The geeks were super nice and respectful and I love the service. Did I mention, I didn't pay a dime?
MESQUITE, TEXAS -- Made an appointment with the Geek Squad to address problems with my computer. Called for appointment in the early part of the week. The first opening was today, Sunday. They called at nine this morning to reschedule for next Sunday because the tech has the flu. I cannot believe that they only have one tech for house calls in the Dallas Metro area. I find this totally unacceptable. I fixed the major problem myself and saved myself the $99-$299 plus tax fee.

EAST HANOVER, NEW JERSEY -- I called the main Geek Squad number - they conned me into buy a 2 year service package for 3 computers for ~$280 total. The entitles me to NOTHING! I also went to the store to drop my laptop off on a Wednesday at 10 am - it is now Friday, and it still hasn't been assigned an agent. SEEKONK, RHODE ISLAND -- Don't buy the Best Buy Geek Squad. I WAITED OVER 3 HOURS ON HOLD TO SCHEDULE AN IN-HOME SERVICE APPOINTMENT AND STILL WAITING. At this point I am convinced that no one is there at their 24/7 customer service line OR they intentionally do not answer so they can take money for not providing a service.
I called the store and they are adamant that I must stay on the line indefinitely until they do answer to schedule an in-home appointment. My only other option is to pack up the TV and have them send it out to be fixed but I so not trust this company after today's experience and believe it is quite possible that if I do this I may never see my TV again.
Best Buy Geek Squad customer service is abysmal. Save yourself a headache and buy elsewhere.
