LA MESA,CA, CALIFORNIA -- On 1-2-13 I had picked my girlfriend up from a Crisis House. A couple blocks from our destination we were hit dead on by a Geico Insured driver as he ran a red light. My car was totaled and had to be towed. At the scene of the accident not only did the driver admit fault but they promised their insurance would cover all the costs and repairs and even encouraged me to ask for a rental.

The next day the driver now claims he passed the light through a yellow. I wonder how that is possible when I had a solid green arrow. The Geico Agent working on my claim wrongly and confusingly questioned my passenger that has a history of mental health issues. The Geico Agent then began to use false statements from the driver and insured, twist my passenger's and my statements and use all the hearsay in the investigation as just cause to fraudulently deny fault for the accident.

There was no proper investigation done. I know that because if there had been, the truth would have been found. I believe Geico insurance has made a terrible name for themselves by allowing their agents to make such bogus decisions along with the nasty way the agent treated my passenger and myself. Because of this I had to hire an attorney to fight for me.

I am 23 and I go to school full time. This accident not only took me out of school for over a week but totaled my car and left me stranded in the city of the accident. I have never experienced such bad service in my life and I am determined to show the truth of how these people operate their fraudulent business. Thank you for reading.

BRAINTREE, MASSACHUSETTS -- Geico Insurance Company is the most slimy, false company I have ever had the displeasure to do business with. One of their employees (I still know her name, to this day) falsely informed me of procedures that go along with cancelling an insurance policy that ended up costing me over $100. When I spoke to a supervisor and told her the girl's name who fed me the wrong information, she sarcastically said "Yeah let me go ask her what really happened", left me on hold for ten minutes, and then came back on to (predictably) tell me "She says that's not what happened."

How convenient for you and your multi-million dollar corporation that your employee is refusing to own up to her mistake! When I contacted the BBB about the matter, I was fed the same bologna by a representative from their executive office. They are now demanding that I pay for their employee's mistake with my money. I am thoroughly disgusted and disappointed with how I was treated and spoken to as a customer. Worst insurance company ever.

Loss & Wages - Geico don't pay you back as long you did acting in-front of doctor/hospital

NJ/NY, NEW JERSEY -- Recently I have involved in accident (both have Geico insurance). But myself and my son didn't hurt badly (by luckily) and also we didn't go to hospital as we don't want to act in front of doctor and waste of time (to be frank). But the fact was missed two days of works. When dealt with Geico they didn't pay for loss of two days work and they are not willing to discuss also as I suggested to change the policy. Lesson learned - even if you didn't hurt badly also you need to go hospital and do acting in front of the doctor. Then only you get paid for missing work.

They don't care when you have a claim

CALIFORNIA -- I've gotten in an accident and after giving my report they automatically said it's my fault 100%. Isn't insurance supposed to be on your side and listen? It bothers me they said it was 100% my fault. Yes I had a stop sign and the other driving didn't but to say the other driver was not negligent at all is BS. I had State Farm before and they cared. They would thoroughly investigate for you and deem drivers at fault percentages. But here at GEICO they just want to close the case, point fingers and move on.

PROS: CHEAP insurance. CONS: Once you have a claim it's over. They treat you like a child, are nasty and rude, and don't care about you or what pictures you have submitted to prove your case. It's like they're on other drivers side to raise your premium!! ROBBERS are right!

Auto Accident
By -

I was injured in an auto wreck in May of 2008. I have been diagnosed as having frozen shoulder syndrome. The insurance company at fault (Geico) is operating on borderline "Bad Faith" as my attorney there in North Carolina has realized. I would highly suggest ANYONE who has a policy with them cancel and anyone dealing with them involving an auto accident TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY EXPERIENCED WITH YOUR INJURIES TO REPRESENT YOU.

Get an attorney not afraid to play "Devils Advocate" otherwise you are going to not get your claim settled fairly. Be careful also of attorneys who seem to be OVER ANALYZING your claim as well. As a last resort you may have to file a lawsuit to make them deal with you fairly. Just make sure you have all your evidence that you need to prove your case OK? Thanks.

Can Not Settle Claim
By -

NEW JERSEY -- GEICO SUCKS!!!!!! My husband had an accident about 3 weeks ago. That did not include anyone else only a telephone pole. The pole was not damaged (thanks to that) and my husband was fine. I called GEICO to place a claim within an hour of the accident. I was told that I had to bring the vehicle to GEICO EXPRESS to have an adjuster see the truck.

The following day I brought my truck in and was surprised when they said we would have to pay for extras that needed to complete the work. WHAT WHAT pay extra for blending the paint and fixing race stripes on the hood. WHY DO I PAY INSURANCE to pay more. I then decided to go to a body shop that was willing to work with me so I would not have to pay the extras. NOT OVER YET. Another adjuster went to view the truck at the body shop and I GOT THE CALL they are going TO TOTAL THE TRUCK.

STILL NOT SETTLED - The truck my husband owned NO GEICO OWNS IT!!!!! was a special edition of a 1997 Dodge ram Indy 500 pace truck. 1st the truck is worth 6,000.00 GEICO offered me 4,000.00 minus my 1,000.00 deductible minus my payments due of 2,000.00 to be paid to the dealership. ARE THEY CRAZY!!! I will not settle and will not renew my policy. They are out to rip you off.

Geico refuses to reimburse a claim
By -

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON -- A vehicle hit my parked car in a parking lot. A witness saw the whole thing (I was not present at the time) and provided me the make of the car, color, license plate and a brief description of the driver. I filed this claim with Geico who requested I pay the $500 deductible for damage repair. Also I had additional damage caused by me and was required to pay $500 for that since it had to be filed separately. Total I paid was $1000 for $1200 worth of work.

Now Geico got in touch with the witness but because the witness described the car as red Geico refuses to reimburse my claim because, according to them, the car is brown and those are two separate colors that should not be confused. The other information was correct.

I informed Geico that after I filed the police report I spoke to the man who hit my car and yes he was indeed in that parking lot. He would not admit that he hit my vehicle. Geico is only out for themselves. Because he is insured through them they refuse to pay and will go through any scandalous length to not reimburse for those damages. I have been with them for almost 10 years now this being my first claim. This is how I have been treated and I will take my business elsewhere. Signed - A Disgruntled Customer.

Resolution Update 04/24/2008:

Geico finally came through

UTAH -- After submitting a claim against an insured driver of theirs, who was 100% responsible for damage to my car, they denied any compensation for repairs. My car was not legal to operate afterwards. My mistake was not to call the HP and file a report, but Geico told me any post police report wouldn't change their decision of denying the claim. I want some justice is all. Geico's actions left me with a very bad sentiment for any future business.

Slow, Poor Response

1101 EAST FLETCHER AVENUE -- When you finally have a date to meet with a Geico claims adjuster, which usually takes seven (7) business days. God forbid you are late!! They will tell you to leave the appraisers office, call the main office and get another appointment - one week into the future. I know what you're thinking. I must be a Diva with an attitude, always expecting everyone at my beck and call. Nothing is further from the truth. I work hard, pay taxes, and a I'm homeowner. I have a: "Do-unto-others-as-you-would-like-them-to-do-to-you" philosophy. Geico's philosophy seems to be: you're cattle.

Geico Fails After 17 Yrs of Premium - 1st Claim

CHEYENNE, WYOMING -- We had our first claim in 17 years with Geico. They have no customer service or claims service. They have an insurance denial department. We have had five cars insured for over 17 years with no claims. Do NOT utilize Geico for your auto insurance. They will attempt to deny every claim that you submit and they utilize aftermarket parts to fix your car. You car will never be the same after Geico gets done with it. Cheap parts and non existent claims department.
