Purchased new and at 40,000 miles, lifters went out. I did oil changes every 3,000 miles. GM denied any warranty because exceeded 36,000 miles. So now I own a Dodge, do not tell me how great GM products are, I have first hand experience with them. Add reply
2009 Traverse Problems
I purchased a 2009 Traverse about 3 weeks ago with 46, 000 miles. Already the first week I had problems with this vehicle. The dealer replaced the pump, the coil. I'm still having same problems going ... read full review4 Replies - Latest reply on 08/25/2013
ANTIOCH, ILLINOIS -- I bought a Dodge Caravan new in 2006 from local dealer. With in the first yr. tail gate started rusting on the inside lip. I complained to service dept and they told me it was my fault I didn't keep it clean enough. I didn't want to argue so went on my way and paid attention to cleaning my van more often. Let me tell you this van is garage kept and now it has bubbling rust all over and major rust on engine hood inside lip and tailgate inside lip all door inside panel bottoms. I really don't understand why, I'm thinking manufacturer defects. Is there any thing to be done about this problem? Rust has been a problem since I got it. It looks like bad.1 Replies - Latest reply on 09/29/2013Add reply
My Tahoe is junk. 64k miles and it needed two new front wheel bearings, over a 1000 bill, I would NEVER buy a Chevy Tahoe again!

ORANGE, CALIFORNIA -- 140,000 miles - THIRD transmission?????
We purchased a Chevrolet Cargo Express 2500 thinking it was a good vehicle with a great 100,000 mile power train warranty. We were wrong. The first transmission went out at 60,000 miles and the second at 70,000 - now we are in the process of getting a third installed for ($3,811.00) which does get another 100,000 mile warranty. Our problem is they didn't warranty the second transmission but said it falls under the first transmission warranty. Boo Chevy. When we called for assistance they strung us along for over a week before they told us they could offer us no assistance. This is a work van and it costs us money every day to have it in the shop. Please don't buy from General Motors as they do not stand behind their product and they also do not have good customer service. I would be surprised if the third transmission lasts for the entire warranty based on our past experience.
I expect to be in the shop again so we better trade it in before it gets to 50, miles. Won't ever buy GM again. Very disappointed with their product.
I have a 2008 Denali pickup 4 door white color. The hood started peeling at the beginning of 2012. 32000 miles and now all 4 dors have started peeling.

GM says that I have my truck repainted, and the peeling is not
their fault. I bought this truck new with 4 miles on it, and the dealer I purchased from is now out of business.
Anyone else have this problem?

MURFREESBORO, TENNESSEE -- I purchased a used 2003 Saturn Ion, 4 months after purchase the car broke down. I had it towed and found out it needed a new transmission ($4000.00- $5000.00 repair) immediately I started looking up ... read full review4 Replies - Latest reply on 09/09/2012
GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN -- Transfer case failed on my 2005 2500 Suburban LT. About a $54000 truck. Dealership took it apart and determined that one of the oil holes drilled into the main shaft going into the transfer case was never deburred. They drilled the holes and splinted the shaft and did not clean out the oil hole. It was partially plugged. Doomed to fail.

Contacted GM and they offered me $100 service voucher... Thank You General Motors!!! I help bail you out with my tax dollars, you get back on your feet, you give away $7500 to your wanna be machinists and I get $100 voucher. That is great! Guess what I am not buying anymore...
LOUISVILLE, TENNESSEE -- I bought a 2003 Buick Rendevous and the electrical system is going crazy. The lights air conditioner radio and gauges cut off while I'm driving. I looked on the internet and there are so many complaints about the same problem. I have two children and I am scared to drive my car. People have wrecked because the headlights go out. People have been locked in their cars and there were also times these cars have quit running while going down the interstate. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DO NOT RECALL THESE CARS WHEN SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM!1 Replies - Latest reply on 08/13/2012Add reply
I have been sent new cards, but neither the new or the old work. The charges are rejected and when I call they say they couldn't find any problem, try it again. Now they say they think my request is fraudulent. I retired in 95, but they wanted my work phone number to verify who I was. Got "very confused" because I didn't have the card with me on a trip after it was rejected twice. Couldn't get me a supervisor, couldn't get me a person in the United States, couldn't give me a number for GM, etc. Looks like GM will be on its way to another bankruptcy unless they start acting like they care about their customers. I have three GM cars, but they are my last ones. Is this GM or Capital One causing the problem? Is anyone else having a problem with them?1 Replies - Latest reply on 05/18/2012Add reply

ALBANY, GEORGIA -- I receieved a letter telling me that the Blazer we purchased has a defective fuel sensor. We can have it replaced at the dealership and they will pay half the bill. I don't go to the dealership because they are 40% higher than everyone else. The way they treat you after the car is out of warranty is another story. When did the consumer have to start paying for the mistakes that the car builder makes.

I feel that the sticker on the side of the vehicle at purchase should have statement sayS "This vehicle is made almost right" or "You are taking a chance with this vehicle having defects". I know they always say "BUYER BEWARE". I just really feel I shouldn't have to pay anything for the repair. I think this my be the LAST General Motors vehicle I buy. My country bailed them out and now I have to pay again. Remember "BUYER BEWARE".
For the second time in one year my premium paint is bubbling and GMC is refusing to help me.
