Electric Window Motors
By -

SUN CITY WEST, ARIZONA -- In the past three months I have had two electric window motors go out. The first one I had fixed at the cost of $540. This is a rip off. The second one I have not had fixed yet. It appears this is a defective part and quite common for breaking. In talking to people with the same type car (Buick) it seems that two out of three people have had the same problem. This part is defective and should be taken care of by GMAC. This has happened to both of our rear windows which have been used very little. I am sure if you look into this problem it is quite relevant.

Collections Company Phone Calls
By -

BRIDGETON, NEW JERSEY -- Today when I arrived home from work, I had a message on my answering machine from GMAC looking for someone who lives down the block from me and a phone number to call them back. I called them and they identified themselves as GMAC Collections. I explained that I didn't know why they were calling me but that the person they were looking for lives down the road from me but that I don't know him very well. They said that they obtained my phone number from a database as living near this person and are contacting neighbors so that someone may give this person a message because they haven't been able to reach him. This is the second call I have gotten from this company.

Hopefully they will not call me anymore as I am not going to go to a neighbor whom I don't know very well and tell him that Collections is looking for him. I just wanted to let people know that this is happening. If I was behind in my bills, I certainly would not want my neighbors finding out about it like this. I am assuming that GMAC Collections was not calling this man to thank him for his payment.

Rolled Truck
By -

ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- In March my son was driving my husband's 2004 4x4 Silverado. While traveling down a dirt road a deer ran out in front of him. He swerved to miss the deer and lost control of the Truck.. Upon inspection of the truck I was taking pic, and noticed that this hose was dangling down was broke in half. My husband called GMAC and told them about the problem. They blew him off stating it wasn't their fault. I latter did research online and found that a lot of Silverado's have flipped. And there are no reason listed about the roll. I did research further and found that there was a recall on 2004 and 2005 for steering problems.

Deferment for One Month Payment
By -

MICHIGAN -- Today I called to ask for a one month deferment on my leased car through GMAC/GM. I have been unemployed since Nov 2006 and called GMAC to ask for a one month extension on my contract. The only reason I have asked for the extension is because my benefits run out this month. Their response is to send paperwork with a $149 charge to extend the contract for a month.

What is ridiculous about this type of situation is that is half of my car payment to begin with and what type of help is that? If there was any type of compassion here, there should be NO charge at all! We have been a GM family for many yrs and now I will be minus one from this point on. What's sad is I'm sure all Auto companies do this very same thing. Corporate world has no compassion anymore. It's all about the almighty buck. Shameful.

Chevrolet Z71

The speedometer cluster has slowly been failing and now nothing works. I have also replaced the air conditioner compressor and everything associated with it. Now my windshield wipers and cruise control are beginning to mess up. My previous Silverado had numerous problems also. I'm going to buy a different brand of vehicle in the future. Enough is enough.

Sub standard tailgate latch
By -

FLORIDA -- Bought 2006 Chevy Avalanche late 2006. Have had it for 4 yrs. Tailgate latch is made of plastics. Broke, could not get into the rear storage area. Called GMAC, was told to take it to the dealer to diagnose. Dealer charged for looking at the latch. Got a bill for approx $550 to replace a broken tailgate latch. GMAC did pay for it says it was wear and tear per the dealer. Felt like I was raped by the dealer and GMAC. This part cost bout $45. Dollars on eBay to remove the broken latch, about 30 minutes.
