I lived out my contract. Paid for it in full. Now they won't let me cancel my contract even tho it has been filled. I have to send them a certified letter and pay a additional three months to stop membership. Can anyone help? This is so wrong. Add reply
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA -- I belonged to a small neighborhood fitness center. One of the members bought it from the original owner several months ago. Equipment began falling into disrepair. Apparently whatever custodial attention ... read full review2 Replies - Latest reply on 12/01/2012

In the past 4 weeks, I have received 2 letters AND 1 incoming phone call from a US Company ASF International claiming that I owe my dues from July 29th 2011 on.... I called them back and they asked me for all sorts of personal information and demanded payment. Denying that my automatic deductions have been taken even though I was looking at my bank statement online during the conversation?
The gym apparently has a new owner HOWEVER since that time, the lobby furniture has been removed, the 'Snack Bar' has been closed down and products have been removed from the entrance way and shelves.
up to 1/2 of the cardio machines are either inoperable or partially broken. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and notified the local RCMP of the billing scam.
ARLINGTON -- I used to be a member of gold gym the one which is located in Arlington VA south gleeb rd, the manager told me that they had no contract program. Since I move from place to place I chose to sigh up for ... read full review1 Replies - Latest reply on 02/17/2011
Someone mentioned a rude Amanda person at another Gold's Gym. There is a rude Amanda person at Gold's Magnolia. Maybe they move her around? Anyway, this gym is not worth the money and ABC Financial is wholly owned subsidiary and they ravage you financially. Add reply

MAGNOLIA, TEXAS -- Hi, I joined Golds Gym in Magnolia tx over a year ago. About one year ago we moved to Riverview Fl. I was told by the gym that because I had moved more than 25 miles away and there is no gym in Riverview they would cancel my contract. I contacted the company and they said to send my Florida drivers license as proof of new address and they would cancel it. I did this in December 09. Golds Gym has continued to take money out of my account for a year now. I contacted them again and they said they had not received the first letter from me, so I sent it again with my Florida Drivers license. Now they are sending me payment forms (with my new address on them) They agree that they have received the drivers license and that I live 25 miles away but they are saying because my license is a year old, it is not a new address now and they can't cancel it!!!!!! I live thousands of miles from the gym, this is crazy... can anyone help me with this....
Lisa Colvin, Riverview Fl
Today an employee of Gold's Gym of Latham NY 12110 named Amanda gave me attitude, told me not to give her an attitude and put her hand up and refused to get a manager when politely asked. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 11/13/2010Add reply

If you attempt to engage them through their website you get no response. If you attempt to engage the owners in person they are extremely unprofessional. When one such manager treated me outrageously rude I asked to speak to his manager. He lied and said he had no manager and would not even give me his name. It turns out he did have managers and they made many excuses for his behavior.
There's a reason why they lock you into a confusing two year long contract. If people were allowed to renew membership month to month they would never come back.
Their contracts are intentionally confusing, most of the managers can't even interpret them correctly, if you can even distract them from their solitaire game long enough to talk to you.
OMAHA, NEBRASKA -- I would not go to Golds Gym. I got my locker lock busted and my wallet and keys stolen. They provide no security whats so ever and the front desk didn't really care that I got my stuff stolen. Maybe its an inside job. Makes sense since my locker is in plain sight as you walk into locker area. Then they had the nerve to charge me 50 bucks to cancel my membership. Never again will I go to Golds Gym or recommend that facility. Just remember folks, the cheaper the membership the cheaper the members! This Golds Gym is having a monthly special of 10 bucks a month. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 09/23/2010Add reply
BROKEN ARROW, OKLAHOMA -- In August of 2010 I purchased personal training services (6 sessions of 30 minutes each with two free sessions) the trainer told me he got me a "deal" and I would pay on $163 for the sessions. I paid the $163 and in September was billed an additional $163. The trainer then tells me that the "deal" was that they usually do not split the payments. I have cancelled my membership with Gold's and will be using the sessions only because I don't want to mess with the hassle of them trying to collect the disputed amount. That being said the trainer is very good at what he does and outside of this high sales environment would probably be pretty cool. They admitted there "may have been" a misunderstanding but were adamant that they would not be honoring the promise made by the trainer.1 Replies - Latest reply on 09/16/2010Add reply
MISSOULA, MISSOURI -- On 8/28/10 I visited the Gold's Gym in Missoula, Montana. Prior to my trip I read several 'less than favorable' reviews but I decided to try it anyway since I was only visiting the area. I was greeted by Brett (Brent?) who offered me a free workout for the weekend whether he was present or not. The facility was fairly clean, the equipment was great, and the female behind the counter was very helpful as well. I would definitely visit Gold's again!!1 Replies - Latest reply on 09/05/2010Add reply
