SACO, MAINE -- I purchased a computer from Gorham Micro on March 31 of 2003. It is now May of 2006. By March of this year, this computer has totally stopped working!
I had the computer built by what I thought was a customer service oriented local computer store. As soon as I started using it I had problems resulting in online service and phone service. The computer continued to have problems and I made several trips to the store to drop off the computer for repair. On one occasion I picked up my tower to find coffee spilled all over it. I don't' drink coffee!
After about a year, the computer started making high pitched squealing noises. I took the computer in for service. Four times I took it for service and the problem "could not be recreated" but they did decide to replace my hard drive. A new hard drive in a year? The problem persisted. I called to ask if someone could come to my home office to fix the computer and was told that they charge 86.00 per hour and that there is construction on the road leading to my home from their store! I reminded them that there are several alternative routes to get to this location! A man came out and replaced both the fans in the computer. The computer began to work again. However, within about a month, the monitor totally died! This monitor is only 1 1/2 years old at this point! I have a Gateway monitor that is 8 years old and still going strong! I called again and got no reply back. Then, in March of this year, I tried to turn the computer on and it wouldn't come on at all. I called the owner of Gorham Micro and stated that my computer was not working and I needed to get into it for business. He told me that he couldn't get to it for four or five days in a rude manner. I said that the computer had been a lemon since day one and that I really needed to at least get into it to get my information. He stated "I can't make everyone happy, next time buy a Dell!" Rude or what!!?? Needless to say I believe this computer was created out of cast off parts from someone's old stuff. A great way to profit in a computer business where the average layman will not know if parts are new or not. Funny how nothing was warranteed either!! If you live in Maine, stay away from Gorham Micro!!! Very poor customer service, and obviously very poor equipment!!!
