I Had Another Experience With Hamburger helper......again
Posted by Melissa_blanton36 on 06/22/2012
My family and I really love hamburger helper, it is delicious and affordable, being a single parent of two children, hamburger helper has been there when I couldnt afford anything else and I love this product but I got a couple box's of my favorite product and went home, and when I went to make it wasn't really much sauce mix, maybe half of what is normally in the package, I had the same problem a few years ago with the pasta in the box. .But I will continue to be a loyal customer of hamburger helper we just love it!

I just wanted to bring this to their attention.

Compliment? Complaint?

You can make your own hamburger helper at about the same price. It's just as tasty, and healthier too.

The title of this review just amuses me...having an "experience" with Hamburger Helper "again"....I don't know, I just find the wording funny.

It sucks, but as food and fuel prices rise a lot of food manufacturers (not just H.Helper) have been gradually cutting back the amounts they put in their packaging and charging the same, hoping consumers don't notice.

I haven't had Hamburger Helper in a while, but they have some pretty tasty varieties. We used to keep a box or two on hand somewhere in the event of a "lazy dinner" night. ...Dang it, now I'm craving some!

I haven't had hamburger helper since about 1978, and I don't yet have a yearning for it. Maybe later...

Anyway, if they have cut the contents of the package, that will clearly be visible in the marking on it.

We just saw that Hamburger Helper has a bunch of new flavors. With the current state of the economy, I expect the wifey to come home with a box of Baloney Helper. I saw a place once where you could buy Roadkill Helper, obviously a gag item.

I love Hamburger Helper, not because of the cheap price (which is nice anyway), but because it's actually very good and quick to make.

I also buy their Tuna Helper, but I substitute the tuna with cut up chicken...in fact, I just had some of that on Saturday and I added some of my own broccoli to it.

I could use some Ice Cream Helper, Cookie Helper, Pizza Helper to stretch things out when I don't have time to get to the store...

What Helper?
Posted by Melissa_blanton36 on 03/29/2010
I purchase hamburger helper a lot for my family because its affordable, and I am on a very tight budget... I opened the box and what did I see? No dry mix to add to the pasta....what are your suggestions? I am not sure how to contact the company to express my disappointment? Any suggestions?

This isn't the first time this has happened... The first time was not even a half a bag of pasta in the box!

Usually there's a toll-free number on boxes. I suggest calling and letting them know that there were ingredients missing from the box. They will probably send you a coupon for a new box.
If not, look up the company online (not sure who makes HH) and find a "contact us" link and let them know what happened.

melissa, fishopper has a good suggestion. try this link, scroll down to the bottom and click on *contact us* on the left.you'll then see the option to email, call or send snail mail. http://www.bettycrocker.com/products/hamburger-helper

you also may want to bring it back to the grocery store in question.

many stores will fix the issue themselves without making you have to muddle through the manufacturer's complaint process.

also, they may consider checking the lot # on the box and comparing it with another box on the shelf to see if it's a one-time issue, or if the entire lot is messed up.

this i know because it happened to mom. she bought some cans of regular green beans only to find the can contained french cut. the store thought it was odd at first but they opened another can with the same lot # to verify. Yes, the entire lot had been mislabeled.
