BISHOP, CALIFORNIA -- Holiday Inn Express....while not all Holiday Inn expresses are the same this review is regarding the review process in general. Most hotels have a central review process not Holiday Inn Express. Each hotel is independently owned and operated. I have stayed at many holidahy inn express and what one calls pillow top is NOT the same bed, I recommend that you ask each regarding their beds. About 1/2 of all the hotels are way below standard, and the food variety also varies. The one hotel that stands out to me for being WAY Below standard for this chain is the Bishop Holiday Express. Rooms were over priced, dirty bathroom, beds were very comfortable, air conditioner loud...soo loud that we couldn't hear the TV that was located next to air conditioner, TV sound had b een adjusted low and we couldn't control. Called maintanence to adjust but he couldn't speak English!! Complained to desk next morning and was not giv en an adjustment on bill as promised. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 09/21/2010Add reply

BREMEN, GEORGIA -- I had a problem with the Holiday Inn Express in Bremen GA and the National Customer Service department would not help me. I won't go into excruciating detail here but I made a reservation for a family member after logging into my Holiday Inn PRIORITY CLUB account. The Bremen GA H. I.E. would not honor the reservation because I wasn't there. This is the first time that has EVER happened in several years and many stays for family members that I've done that way. I tried calling the Bremen GA H. I.E. front desk at the number listed online. No answer and the ringing finally stopped. This happened FIVE TIMES. So I called the Toll Free number for Holiday Inn. For starters, I am SICK AND TIRED of American customers being handed over to someone in another country who can barely speak English and can't deal with anything other than read from their scripted responses. I was finally transferred to an American (I think) who sounded as if she was on drugs. She was hardly any better and basically told me that because the hotels are franchises, the individual hotels can basically make any damned rule they want. I've been a Priority Club member since 2003 and have 5 employees who are members and we frequently travel on business and have always used Holiday Inn. I've directed my staff to find a new chain now. 2 Replies - Latest reply on 05/05/2010Add reply
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- DO NOT STAY AT THE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS IN DOWTOWN HOUSTON LOCATED AT 1810 BELL STREET, and if you do and have a problem do not rely on the hotel manager, Sam Rehman, to resolve your issue or for that matter for him to care about anything but making money.

He fraudulently charged my credit card for a room I did not authorize or purchase, and when I called him to ask for a credit back to my card, he said he would check the video tapes and get back to me and proceeded to accuse me of trying to get a free room.
When I logged a complaint at www.ichotels.com who is the parent company, they referred me back to the hotel manager! What a run around. I have been forced to protest the charge with my credit card company and can guarantee you I will NEVER stay in an Intercontinental Hotels Group flag which includes Intercontinental Hotel, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza Hotels, Hotel Indigo, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites.
There are just too many hotel choices out there to deal with fraud and bad customer service.

The staff we dealt with were all quite pleasant. The situations we found varied from annoying to ludicrous.
Here is the chronology of our stay:
1--Registered in room 307 after 4pm on the 30th.
2--The TV set would not get channel 4, CBS.
3--Moved to 306, set did get channel 4.
4--Went to bar to order Sam Adams beer. Out of the most popular beers in Boston.
5--Next afternoon spent 1 hr calling the shuttle pick up from New England Baptist hospital.
6--Took a cab to Holiday Inn.
7--When I complained about busy signal, very nice man said he was understaffed.
8--When time came for me to find my car was told by the man at the desk that he was new and did not know how to get to the parking area.
I stayed for a week at the Holiday Inn Select on Viger St. in Montreal. My room was disgusting dirty and smelled really bad. The carpets were spotted. The tile floor was dirty feeling. Furniture smelled and was dirty. There were even con webs. I had a balcony and the sliding door was broken. Exhaust fan in the bathroom was full of dust that Hung from the vent. Towels were smelly and the walls were dirty.

I am a frequent traveler and usually stay at another brand of hotels. I decided to give Holiday Inn a try because of a free nights promotion they were running. I earned 5 free nights and later booked them for my son's wrestling tournament. The tournament was cancelled and I lost all 5 of the free nights due to a rule that these particular reward nights could not be cancelled once booked. This rule was not publicized during the promotion, and I only found out the hard way. Their repsonse to my complaint took 6 emails. And ended with them just telling me "too bad".1 Replies - Latest reply on 01/06/2011Add reply
