Paint Can Not Sealed
By -

JUPITER, FLORIDA -- On 4-05-07 I went to the Home Depot in Jupiter Florida to get some cement paint colored. The fellow in the paint dept did it and then handed the 2 paint cans back to me to put into my cart. I paid for it, put the cans in my trunk of my 2005 white Avalon which has a supporting net in the trunk. Both cans were in separate Home Depot bags. When I got home 5 miles away and opened the trunk I found that my trunk had 1/4 of the can of paint all over the mat and the net.

I went back to Home Depot and talked to a manager about the problem. They review every paint sale on tape and guess what ** didn't seal 1 can with the rubber mallet. They were nice about refunding my money and giving me a can of paint free. But the cost to replace the black net that is aqua from the paint is $47.50. The firm that handles the claim ** in Atlanta offered me 1/2 the $47.50 because she said that I should have checked the can.

Guess what, I take the check, cash it and then because not only do I have a legal background but my son is a practicing lawyer I will file a suit against ** and Home Depot and cost me nothing and them a lot more than $ 24.00. Too bad because we spent $ 26,942 at Home Depot over the past few years and now it's on to Lowe's and I will blast them all over the internet. Dumb people .

Customer Service on Paint Problem
By -

BRADENTON, FLORIDA -- I tried to return defective Behr paint to the Bradenton, Fl. store. I was told at the return desk that the new paint mixing machine had generated recent complaints. I was at the desk for 10 minutes, then forced to cart 10 (8 defective and 2 correct) gallons of paint to the paint dept. Another associate opened the paint, found the paint to be defectively mixed and called a senior associate who assured me I would be "helped."

He disappeared and returned to say all supervisors were in a meeting and couldn't be disturbed, but to return the paint to Wisconsin. No apologies, NO offer of compensation and 45 total minutes of frustration. I now choose Lowe's and Ace for my remodeling needs.
